Corkus 5
April 24- Sharon Van Etten with Flock of Dimes (Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak) It's funny since I've seen both Sharon van Etten AND Wye Oak open for The National. Both were great, and I honestly didn't know a thing about Sharon beforehand. Been doing a bunch of free shows this month. Caught free mini-performances by Nada Surf, Gotye, and Coldplay (lol) earlier this month and then saw My Brightest Diamond last night. Cursive and Veronica Falls will wrap up the month for me, as it's been a very fruitful month for free in-store shows and free TV tapings. Also got tickets for The Temper Trap next month, then of course comes the Coachella madness in April. Seriously contemplating ACL later this year, especially since the Bonnaroo lineup is good but not quite good enough for me to throw down the travel expenses.
Cascading Waterfall 10
Concerts I've been to. The Holiday Makers and When The Cats Away, when I was young. They were both New Zealand bands who have since finished. I've also been to a Westlife concert a few years ago. All three concerts were held in Wellington. Coldplay came to New Zealand to do a concert in Auckland in 2009 or 2010, but I couldn't go because I was saving up for an overseas trip. This month Roxette also came over here to do a concert in Auckland, but I've had to miss out on that too and this is also because of saving up to go overseas.
anacaren08 253
I saw Young the Giant on Feb.9 at the Fillmore SF I did not enjoy it as much I thought I was. Unfortunately stupid drunk people ruin concerts sometimes :( That said, I did enjoy "cough syrup" But i feel i enjoyed the opening act A LOT better. They are called Walk The Moon and they played so well, I cant wait to hear more from them :D
lotrobsessed101 0
I want to go to EdgeFest so bad! Tickets went on sale today. The lineup includes the Black Keys, Cage the Elephant, and Arctic Monkeys. :) I also want to see Florence and the Machine, but tickets sold out before I could grab some up. :( I'm gonna try stubhub the week of the concert and see if I can grab some cheap tickets. Tnspieler1012 1
Bonnaroo ticket site is temporarily shut down due to an absurd amount of sales (and supposedly some technical issues). By what I've heard it hasn't actually sold out for a few years due to the economy, but the 3rd price level is already gone.
shred 775
Florence + the Machine in May in Auckland. Missed her the last time round she was here so very excited about this. Would be my first Flo concert. :D

By what I've heard it hasn't actually sold out for a few years due to the economy, but the 3rd price level is already gone. I've noticed U.S. festivals have been on a sales upswing lately. These past 2 years are the first time Coachella's sold out within a week (usually it's taken a few months), while Lolla and ACL sold out last year in a few months even though they hadn't sold out at all in recent years. I'm just glad we're still nowhere near Glasto demand levels.

Corkus 5
Coachella actually sold out both weekends in hours! The second sale in January did. The first batch of passes were on sale for a full week several months beforehand, which had WAY more passes than the January batch. Which is kind of a ploy on the part of Goldenvoice (Coachella's promoter) to claim they sold out within hours.
berrymaster 0
I'm jealous of those who've seen so many concerts 30 seconds to mars--MARS300 Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC-- December 7, 2011 Coldplay--Today Show NYC--October 21, 2011
