Mark 0
That's what I was expecting, based on the reviews. Maybe people are too afraid to admit they don't like it, because of it being such a personal song to Matt :laugh3: Or people like it because it's well-produced. Well done Muse. Well done. You've produced a song well. Oh. Wait. It was Nero, wasn't it?
nouratan 0
i LOVE "save me" and Chris sounds perfect. Chris singing is more approachable and wonderful, to me Matt's singing is too perfect and expressionless i have no idea if i make sense but i like Chris's singing edit: and i love isolated system as the closer, its the calm after the storm in my opinion the album progression is perfect it starts with the feeling of being suppressed and basically shouting out about the unfairness of it (supremacy) and the comes the human instinct of avoiding situations by being in love (madness) and the realising its still horrible outside the bubble they're living in(Panic station) then comes the instinct of survival and the struggle to live without giving up(Survival) then comes (follow me and animals) basically talking about the uprisings and how man in general forgets that everyone in this world is struggling the same as they are and start acting superior and fighting amongst each other. and when everything has basically become shittier then it was before wanting the life from before (explorers and Big Freeze) and the begging to be save (save me) and then shouting out anyone who can heard to save them(Liquid State) (unsustainable ) is basically realising that we are stuck now and can't get out and it is followed by the soft symphonic music (isolated system)basically is the time when everything feels like it's back to normal but its just another disaster waiting to happen maybe over thought about it but lyrically it follows perfectly

watd 0
I already knew Survival, Uns.. and Madness and decided to give it try, started with generally most revered songs. Panic Station was quite good in its own way, Animals decent, both better than the 3 aforementioed (which were from utterly shite to meh). Then Supremacy and here I stopped forever. This piece is just worse than Survival and thats something. I dont get this band and their fans who, from all better options just consider songs like this or Survival or Unsustainable as masterful. harrisonrules 0
Am I the only one here who thinks the best track off the album is Explorers? It's so good!
Mark 0
Its a musers thing you wouldnt understand. This quotation reminds me of an Arctic Monkeys lyric. "His bird says it's amazing though, so all that's left is the proof that love's not only blind but deaf." Am I the only one here who thinks the best track off the album is Explorers? It's so good! Stood out for me on first listen.
harrisonrules 0
I also like Animals Panic Station and Supremacy. I was VERY disappointed in Chris's songs. Maybe a few listens will help!
harrisonrules 0
My revised tracklist 1. Supremacy 2. Madness 3. Panic Station 4. Big Freeze 5. Follow Me 6. Animals 7. Liquid State 8. Save Me 9. Explorers Explorers would have been an excellent closer. Much better at least than the current one Isolated System BTW my favorite part off the entire album is the last 10 seconds of Supremacy
Afshin_Noel G 0
Am I the only one here who thinks the best track off the album is Explorers? It's so good! No:D I like the album. It's better than the resistance My favorite tracks are supremacy & explorers All songs are good except survival:confused:
harrisonrules 0
I disagree. Survival is pretty bad and so is Unsustainable and Isolated System for the most part.
harrisonrules 0
Big Freeze is really growing on me too. Didnt care for it first time around.
Plug_in_coldplaying 21
The Q and A was really awesome. Some fans are seriously creepy though.
Nattatouille 8
The awkward moment when someone on your T/L says: 'Well, they've done it. I didn't think they could make an album better than the flawless Resistance... But they have. The 2nd Law is the best muse album (with The Resistance =2nd)' No. Just no. My friend who started to be a muser along with me back in 2003 before Absolution was released thinks the 2nd Law is the best album to date. It is matter of personal taste. nouratan 0
The 2nd Law is the new Absolution, i remember most musers really hated it when it came out but it has ultimately become the most liked now

Oh no, I don't mean T2L bit; should've made that clearer . It's the fact that he said that The Resistance was flawless and had been the best up until now. That's what I contest. I don't mind how you'd rank them beyond the fact that The Resistance should never, ever be first on a list (unless you're doing worst, and then I will accept it at a number one position). It was weak.
Brent 1
The 2nd Law is the new Absolution, i remember most musers really hated it when it came out but it has ultimately become the most liked now Most loved by the flood of ~angsty~ teenage girls that became Muse fans, yeah. I'd say that's valid. This album, it's a dud. It's really bad. The quality of their stuff is a constant decline.

Yeah, but there's personal taste and then there's ignorance of earlier material, and the chances are, it's gonna be the latter. Just look at the poll at the top of your page :P Having said that, I met a girl who said she was gutted Muse didn't play Neutron Star Collision when she saw them. I was like "Ahh, you not a big fan of Muse?" and she said "Well, I've seen them 13 times". Shut me right up, that did. :laugh3:

I once was at festival for Muse and saw a 50+ years old couple standing there 12 hours for Muse since the beginning of the day. Now from only that i could they were huge fans, but they sang along all the songs :stunned:
Megalomania 3
Sooooo, kill me if you want but I actually really enjoy this album. I can't pick out any favorites right now because I've only listened to it all the way through once Before you say anything, it's far from their best work, but all the same I really like it. :wacky:
