It's almost March and there's still only one release that I really enjoy: Burial's Kindred EP

At this point last year, I was listening to:

Cut Copy - Zonoscope

Destroyer - Kaputt

James Blake - James Blake

Julianna Barwick - The Magic Place

Lykke Li - Wounded Rhymes

Nicolas Jaar - Space Is Only Noise

PJ Harvey - Let England Shake

Radiohead - The King of Limbs

Tim Hecker - Ravedeath, 1972

Toro Y Moi - Underneath the Pine

Yuck - Yuck

Guess I was spoiled by 2011. Really hope this year picks up soon :(

Plus I was writing that list off the top of my head so I'm sure I forgot some stuff. I think Lucy's Wordplay For Working Bees was available February of last year and definitely remember listening to xxxy's Ordinary Things over and over... Maybe it was March but I'm too lazy to check.

Will definitely check Shangaan Shake later when I have more time.

I'm so behind. :disappointed:

The only thing I've kinda listened to is "Tramp" by Sharon Van Etten. OMG I LOVE HER. :dazzled: I tried listening to Lana del Rey some time last week, but I get too caught up in "Video Games" to listen to anything else. :shame:

I'll come back and share more when I actually make time to listen to things more thoroughly.

  • 2 weeks later...

yeah i heard that one leaked p early

gonna wait a little bit to give it a listen though

in other news: panabrite - soft terminal is prob the best album i've heard this year so far. wonderfully repetitive ambient stuff, sounds so pure they make my heart melt; fucking in love with it.

CHROMATICS - kill for love

fucking OMFG. a monster of an album, sprawling and messy and full of dreamy fucked up weary 50s neo noir movie style atmospheres. some of the best pop tunes released this year (esp the first 6 songs or so). of course it's a bit overlong, and some ambienty tracks are kinda useless, but idc cuz the good songs are so fucking good.

This is on the money. A bit long but great album.
