Coldplay Twitter posting article about Everyday Life being a potential contender for the Grammy's album of the year, which would be nominated well over a year the album came out... not sure if it's el

Well, for me Coldplaying is another common room where I can hang out, thus, I'm here so often! But I'm convinced that there are other users who would be more responsible and conscientious as moderator

The other day I received a physical copy of the Japanese edition of Everyday Life. I was surprised to discover that it was different from the regular version, which I had purchased before, in another

While I think everyone was holding out hope for something earlier give the whole full of surprises thing, in that interview with Dave Holmes and Phil Harvey they pretty much said 2020 / 2021. And the official GC site does show Coldplay in the trailer. I think this is legit, folks. :grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning:

It's 100% they're playing the Global Citizen festival in September 2020 because their twitter account retweeted Global Citizen's tweet saying that the band was playing it. So there can be no disputes over that.

Anyway, the band will have been on a near 3 year hiatus by Sept 2020. If they're going to play the festival it means they're going to be practicing, a lot, next year before the festival (even if they only play 2 songs). If they're practicing together again, then they're making new music together.

I'm 100% confident we will get official LP8 news within the next 12 months.

Touring not likely until 2021.

I bet that...

2020 = LP8 with possible 1-5 festival performances and maybe some performances in TV / radio.

2021 = tour

In any case, it's great to hear again after this long hiatus that they are "slowly" coming back. :)

Well, that was quite a long read! It's so nice to much activity on the forums these days.

And of course I'm so happy that after all these years there's finally some news about the band! I'm so happy we can finally start to countdown.

I am pretty sure Coldplay are going to release something before the Global Citizen gig in September next year. I think March - June would be a nice period to see some teasers!

About the performance, I think Coldplay's setlist will be something like this:

1. Adventure Of A Lifetime

2. A Sky Full Of Stars

3. New song (?)

4. Viva La Vida

5. Up&Up

Just thinking out loud here: we thought Coldplay already had a good chance of playing Glasto 2020 in June for its 50th anniversary. With this Global Citizen news, the odds of releasing even earlier than summer 2020 has increased slightly imo. I don't want to get too hyped up too early; I can live with September 2020 for now, but I'd say it went from a 10% chance to a 20% chance with this alone. Still not great, but improved odds!

I can remember the time when Coldplay performed at the GC Fest back in (September) 2015. Less than 2 months later, they released the 15 - second teaser of AOAL in November. And then the song came out and the album about a week later.

I don't think they'll do it the same way again, right? That would just be too obvious and less exciting (for me at least).

So with a chance of playing Glasto 2020 AND this Global Citizen festival news, there's no doubt we'll be getting something by summer. If you google around for Coldplay odds playing at Glasto, things are pretty promising (5/2 odds in many cases). They wouldn't play Glasto 2020 without new music... right?!

How do other bands do it? I don't follow anyone else really, at least not this closely.

Its only a chance at Glasto, so I wouldnt exactly say there's no doubt, although odds are improving with the GC fest.

I saw those odds before, but thats probably someone pulling numbers out of thin air like I did a few posts ago. It means nothing, just speculation. But no, I dont think they'd do either show without at least some new music.

I'd love for some new CP material next year, and I'm hoping it's as far away from AHFOD as humanly possible. Awesome that Chris is getting the guys involved in Global Citizen again, too (with Muse, RHCP, Metallica and Billie Eilish, to add:)).

but yeah...that's a terrible setlist

I think these songs would be suitable to play for a Global Citizen gig for the people living in difficult circumstances.

In an interview at the Global Citizen Festival yesterday One Republic said there would soon be a collaboration of them with Chris Martin, Beyonce and Adele. Might this be a hint as to which direction Chris's/Coldplay's music will go?

Dang, I just got a notification that Coldplay tweeted something, wasnt new music though.

Then I thought this kinda goes against that tweet from Chris saying they wont be tweeting in a while, hah
