📡 HIGHER POWER MUSIC VIDEO OUT JUNE 8 📡

haha i'm sorry, i mean i like the album and agree that it blows OBTN away. theres a ton of good moments on here, but i get the feeling that this album was rushed. there's too many bits in the songs that sound like they've been done before (in the same album no less). for example, the end and the face sound way too alike and definitely could've been left off the album. i'll say it again, the one this this album needs a raw, down-and-dirty rocker. but hey, what do i know? this is why they're making millions and i'm not.

It's nice to have their feedback and little stories about the tracks and recording process, I like that a LOT!! (but man, where have they been hanging out to be that red  )

Just a little  : I've got an email from play.com telling me that my copy of Come around sundown awas on its way :awesome: PLEASE Mr Postman, hurry!!

@Ivet: I've just noticed the 'Hands open' quote in your sig :awesome: Dunno if you know the story behind it

Gary Lightbody explained that he was listenning a lot to 'Illinois' while making the Eyes open record, so when he wrote HO, he felt natural to him that the 'song in the song' had to be a Sufjan Stevens one ^^

AHHHH :awesome: I'm so lucky!! One of my friend was in London a few days ago, and today, the mailman delivered this from her (she's also a KOL fan)...

I totally forgot that this book was coming out  but she thought of me

I'll try to read it very soon, I'll let you know if it's any good :)

Hmm. dont bother listening to their OLD stuff, I started with OBTN, so far "Radioactive" is just average but its okay

Aren't you curious about what they have made before? You may not like their previous stuff BUT you might love it! It would be stupid to pass on sthg you might like just because you 'don't bother'... :inquisitive:

^^:surprised: that's awesome

gL has the best tastes :smug:

Should I go ?

I would want to but it's 65£ so that's 74 EURo

That's expensive in my eyes ..

Are they good live ? Mind blowing , or just like on the album ?

74 € in belgium??? :stunned: That's more expensive than a Coldplay gig!

I can't tell you how they're live, never had the chance to catch them live (yet)... As far as I red on this board and elsewhere: the music is good but they're pretty 'cold' with the audience...meaning no much talk, no need to say no banters, no smile...but musically speaking, all good.

Maybe you can watch some vids of their gig at the O2 on youtube and see if this is something you might like?

As for me, I've started reading the biography and so far, so good :) It's a nice mix between storytelling and bits of the boys ITVs.

Mhmm, hard to say what advice to give you.

I've seen them live and it was great hearing songs like "Milk" live and they're good live.

But what Aurélie said is true - You actually won't get more than hearing the songs live, maybe not even a "hi" from them... and for that 74€ is a lot!

I didn't even pay half of this last year if I remember correctly!

EDIT: Just checked because I was curious now... I paid 43€ including all fees.

you're never gonna really understand KoL unless you go back to their older stuff :)

I really need to listen more to their older stuff.

But I LOVE the new album. Mary, Pony Up and The End are my favourites.

Yep, you should :whip: but you'll see, especially the first two, it's quite different. The sound is more rough and Caleb mutters lyrics.

Very nice ITV in four parts of the boys, you can see them hanging out at home, and play a secret gig. It's nice to see them chilling, just like in the home movies :D (bigLOL @Jared's playlist... :laugh3:)

I just downloaded the album cos Amazon are selling it for £3.99 for this first week  Only listened to the first song yet, so no comments from me yet....I do like Radioactive tho, so hopingthe rest matches up to that track :escaping:

oh yes it does :awesome: The only two song that are 'less good' to me are 'no money' and 'my amigo' (this one could have been a b-side IMO). As for the stand out, I'm staying on PONY UP :awesome: , Pick up truck, Back down south, The Immortals, Pyro, The end, Beach side, Birthday...(well, the whole album :D )

Listening to Pony Up right now - especially like the guitars in this one :D The other one I've really liked so far is Mary.

And that bassline :bomb: the two thing I love most about KOL is Caleb's voice and Jared's basslines  I can't get enough of one or the other!

I bought it last week and have been listening to it recently. Still a little too new to form an opinion, but so far so good  I know I've said it before, but I think the Immortals is a great song. I saw it live and was blown away. Big chorus (I know old school fans hate it) and good lyrics. It's a win to me.

The album's No. 1 over here

US rockers Kings of Leon rule the UK album chart after their new offering sold more copies in its first week on release than any so far this year.

haha nice. i love hearing how some artists get inspiration for songs. pretty cool, and def one of the better songs on the album.

speaking of the album, it has really grown on me. pyro and the immortals really get to me. but there is the other half of me that wishes they would just burn the motherf***er down like i know they're more than capable of doing (i.e. Black Thumbnail).
