Scottish musician and producer, Guy Berryman has a net worth of £40 million ($63m) as of May 2012, according to the Sunday Times UK Rich List. He is bassist of the British alternative rock band, Coldplay. He met vocalist Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland at University College London. The first Coldplay album, Parachutes, was released in 2000 and sold more than 7m copies. They have produced five best sellers, with worldwide sales exceeding 50m. The last Coldplay tour in 2008 and 2009 produced box-office gross receipts of $156.3m from 142 shows playing to 2,289,000 people. The latest album, Mylo Xyloto, was released in November and reached No 1 in 32 countries, including the US, where sales exceeded 440,000 copies in week one, and the UK, where it sold 700,000 copies. The Coldplay members trade as a partnership called Headlong Tours LLP. Its 2009-10 accounts reveal profits of £11.5m and in the last five years some £37m of profit. A huge tour that started in 2011 and extends through 2012 will bring in millions more.

:bomb::bomb::dazzled::dazzled:

Anyone able to upload this vid elsewhere?

Again there's the odd trouble between YouTube and GEMA Germany ... :veryangry2:

Then again, I guess I better not watch it otherwise I will have a awful relapse concerning GB :laugh3:

^Ich schreib das mal eben auf Deutsch. Wenn ich solche GEMA-gesperrten-Videos nicht angucken kann, gehe ich immer auf youtubeunblocker.org ..Da unten ist ein kleiner Kasten, in dem man dann den Link tut und dann ist das möglich sich das anzugucken. Also bis jetzt hab ich noch keine größeren Probleme damit gehabt. Hoffe ich konnte dir helfen!

This is their single. It's seriously about as nice a piece of music as I've ever heard.:)

The whole album is simply amazing!! :)

And I didn't even buy it because Guy was producing it ... ;)

Most of the songs have some kind of 'country feel' attached to them and James Levy's voice reminds me a bit of Nick Cave's as he has a pretty low voice.

I love this song!! Also the songs of 'The Pierces' ...Amazing! Thanks Guy :)

I'm a little bit sad that 'The Pierces' won't support Coldplay at the concerts in Europe!

Lena it is a shame they aren't supporting as imho, The Pierces are very fun live. I was lucky to see them on their own tour in Brighton last year and would recommend you go if you ever get the chance

Who do you have supporting on your gig nights? Marina is very good too not sure Rita Ora has enough material for a strong set but I guess she's not on for that long as there are normally 2 support acts on this stadium tour.

I can well believe it! I hope that they'll touring through Germany as soon as possible.

In Hannover will be Marina and Frank Ocean. I'm glad to see Marina :)

Haha, so true!! I have pics of me singing, playing guitar, and playing bass. (Not at once, lol.) And I get that look too, apparently. :laugh3:

I think it's the nature of the instrument. Playing rythmic chords all the time lends itself to a mellow vibe.;)

I don't always find it mellow, but I do find it very 'Zen', even on the most upbeat songs. And unlike guitar, you have to know how to rein it in and when NOT to play. Keeps you focused.

I guess it's just my perception. When I'm playing bass, I find myself sort of getting so deep in the rhythm I sort of go to super mellow zone out land. Of course, all I ever really play is simple eighth note lines.

It's Zen space for me, for sure. If I do a set on bass, I wind right down, but after, I feel hyper as hell! To each their own, I guess. :)

Most of what I do is eights too, unless it's on my own stuff. Then I go to Mars a little, lol. I'm no Jacko, but I'd like to think I have a decent melodic sense.:)

EDIT: I think I've already said it's part of Coldplay's early appeal to me. Guy can go from those pounding eights to those sweet, buttery bass melodies. Just delightful!!

He's great live, I just wish they'd turn him up a little in the mix on their recordings.
