  1. Good day mates. After a while of making up my mind about if sharing or not Coldplay gigs, I decided to go ahead and well...here you are: COLDPLAY LIVE SHN-FLAC by claxson(R) These bootlegs are from 1998-2003. IMHO these are the best. Here you have my complete audio list: DATE VENUE CITY COUNTRY/STATE SOURCE 1999

  2. Oh wow. Chris played a snippet of a new song during a conference thing on Clubhouse. In the full interview, he asks for it to not be recorded and that it will be out sometime potentially. We should all just disregard the first part... LYRICS: "We had a kind of love- I thought would never end Oh my lover, oh my lover, oh my friend Talked around in circles and talked around again I loved you to the moon and back again" (lyrics from cp discord server) ChrisMartin_New_Track_CH.mp3

Let's start in chronological order: 20 September 2009 - Coldplay feature in a documentary on the South Bank Show, promoting their album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, and in a section of the documentary they talk abou

  6. I don't know what to expect to be honest but I truly think we are getting an album or a side project of re-worked and previously unreleased material. With Chris mentioning UATW and UFO along with the recent trademarks, I don't think it's too unreasonable. As stated in this thread, just because they can't tour currently, doesn't mean they won't release an album. However I don't think they will release a mainstream album and then tour it 1-3 years later. Just doesn't make sense to me. I think they are going to give us new/remastered music to tide us over until LP10 (also a nice number to start f

  8. Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I would meet so many great people on the internet to share my passion with, Coldplay and their music. I'm so grateful to be part of this beautiful place! I can definitely say I'm a proud Coldplaying member for five straight years!

  9. For the Grammy's my best guess is Chris will get the LOVE Choir to help out as I think they're LA based. So maybe they'll do Cry Cry Cry or BrokEn -- something similar to the stripped-back NPR Tiny Desk Performance. My second best guess is that he's collaborating with other artists to do some sort of tribute song. It'll be interesting to see how the performances go this year. If COVID never happened imagine the whole band performing Arabesque with Femi Kuti and and an orchestra and melting all our faces.

  10. Great find! this seems like the most likely explanation for the FFTF2024 in the booklet. Maybe it's an action plan from this initiative setting a goal for 2024, or maybe Coldplay have committed to make their tours environmentally beneficial (i.e. actively improving the environmental situation, rather than just having no effect) by 2024.

  11. Yo you could have at least referenced my original twitter post. but ill forgive you. There is more to it. Yes Oxfam is one of the partnering charities. But also Dave Holmes statement (after Chris told the media they wouldn't tour until it was environmentally beneficial) is also insightful: - As Chris has said, we have become increasingly mindful of our touring’s impact on the planet. We started making significant plans to improve this scenario while we were still on the road in 2017. For the last couple of years, we’ve been meeting with environmental organizations and charities with t

  12. Now I'm convinced LP9 is coming soon. Coldplay just shared their support for Global Citizen's "Recovery Plan for the World," and if you scroll down it mentions three events: the first is probably digital, but the second is one that Coldplay planned on playing last year before it was canceled. Not sure about the third. https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/info/2021/

  14. The trademark for "Music of the Spheres" has moved into pre-publication. This means that if no objections are made against it, it belongs to Coldplay in 2 months time to use in whatever way they want 🙂

  17. Here are my thoughts: I don't see them releasing a huge project that they can't tour for a few years. At this rate it looks like a vaccine could be available within the next year or so but who honestly knows. That means every tour is getting pushed back til at least 2022, if not later. I don't think Coldplay will tour until after that. I think we will see them release a project (projects?) that is really for the fans (unreleased music/re-worked material). Chris did say that they view themselves as a service for people who enjoy their music. They want to provide for that. Now is a per

  18. Glad to see this forum still active! I usually visit at least once a week (mostly lurking and liking posts haha) but I hadn't visited it for a few weeks. I like the new design and hope everyone is okay, especially with everything that's going on in the world ❤️ Reading I ran away's post above made me realise that I have been a member for 4 years (since late March 2016) and a Coldplayer for 4,5 years which is insane to me. It seems like it was yesterday when I really got into Coldplay but time passed without me even realising it. I wasn't the same person I was 4,5 years ago and Coldplay a

  19. On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a username, she decided to go with a Coldplay song that she had only recently discovered but that spoke to her, in a way, more than any other: I Ran Away. And the rest, as they say, is history... ❤️

  20. At this point I'm very jealous of Taylor Swift fans who have had two new albums come out during lockdown along with a reworked album being released next month... so far we've had Flags to keep us going😢

  21. I want Jon Hopkins to contribute again. Midnight and The Escapist are amazing, as are the ambient remixes of MX songs that he contributed to Live 2012. Except this time, I want his contributions to be completely new. The Escapist and Midnight came from snippets of old Jon Hopkins compositions and the band just added to them.

  22. In his interview with the podcast Lockdown Dads, Will mentions they were never meant to tour at this point even if there were no lockdown (at least that's what I understood). But he was very careful not to say anything about future plans apart from that they exist... thinking we might be getting some new music this year but think the tour will still happen in 2022. This year's Fall might still be very risky and we won't be rid of Covid yet.

  23. Yeah I agree that the FFTF2024 is a completely separate thing from MOTS. As mentioned, I think it's Coldplay's goal to have an environment friendly tour by 2024. Very interesting! I still think we are getting a project of new/reworked material sometime this year.

  25. If the "finished" UATW ends up being released, then I really hope they incorporate the "silver bird" verse that Chris started singing during the AHFOD era. It was already my favorite song off of MX, but that verse just went made it even more beautiful.

  26. ^I totally agree with your ideas for inspiration for LP9. New Wave sounds/80's pop-rock is coming back in style and I think Coldplay could kill it. Though for the record, I absolutely love WAP and think it's one of the best tracks of 2020. But I agree that Coldplay's strength has always been in making more emotional sounding rock music. It isn't to say that there have been some awesome experiments over the past decade that I really enjoy, but "newplay," if I can use that term, is less consistent with fans and critics. EL was a return to form in my opinion, but was still a bizarre album.

  27. Fanboying here, Imagine we get a song kinda like "Space Oddity" by David bowie. The song begins with radio static and chatter as if ground control is talking to someone in space. The the beat hits and its a mixture of 80's synths and some modern tones. I could totally see Songs that take the names of planets and stellar objects. Maybe some constellations. Midnight reprise? Moving to Mars? The possibilities are endless!!!!!!! Buy your tickets to the hype train here!!!

  29. I don't like the idea of a Greatest Hits album. They have such a deep discography and nobody knows about their best songs, only the pop ones. Making a Greatest Hits album would just cover up their good songs more. I hope they go with @Shiver98s theory, but it's all up to the band. But i hope they release new music soon. Everyday Life has been the only album i've lived through (I started listening to them seriously in around 2018) and now i know how hard it is to wait for a new release😅

  30. It has been a little while since I last peaked my head inside this little corner of the internet. I can't believe it has been 6 years since I first created this account and became the infamous double poster because the old forum software didn't like me and would regularly duplicate my posts. 😛 Wow... it has been over a year since Everyday Life came out. What a beautiful album. I think it was released at the best possible time--right before the world kind of fell into a state of disorder and turned "everyday life" upside down, with every aspect of life being affected... not to mention, a l

Ownership is still the same (Stephen), but the forum did a major upgrade that allows better social media integration and is now also for the first time ever entirely self-hosted I'm sad that the EL Era was so short as well. I was lucky enough to be one of the few to see the band live in London, and it was just an amazing concert. Love this album a lot, possibly even more than initially when it came out. By the way I think Champion of the World is a very Oldplayish song too. The structure, the guitar and the vocal lines make it sound like the child of AROBTTH and X&

  36. Oh please no Dua Lipa on a Coldplay album. One of the most talentless and shallow pop sensations to emerge in my humble opinion (next to Ariana Grande). II'm not too keen about collabs in general, but Rihanna and Beyoncé were in a different league. I wouldn't mind someone like Brittany Howard either. I agree with what was said above about the collabs on EL being collabs done just right. If they have to do collabs, more of that type please and less of the ones with a current pop hype. (also sorry to all Dua fans, it's great that you see something in her and love her but I simply don't and

  37. For sure they sound bland and dull for now but it's only one small portion of the song. I totally share your concern as lyrics can really bring down Coldplay songs sometimes. My only defense is that Will's door has allowed lyrics in the past decade like: "spiderman's control, and batman with his fists" and "how come cars don't slow" and "all i know, is that i love you so, so much that it hurts" and "could have been a princess, you'd be a king, could have had a castle, worn a ring but NOO Oo O O O oo "

  38. Coldplay has just announced their new T-shirt collection with One Tree Planted. What surprised me the most was the song playing on the video, they chose Talk... So, since the band has an aversion with X&Y (other than Fix You), do you think there's a reason to choose that particular song?
    7 points
  39. Indeed! I'm also wondering if Coldplay ever read all of this fan speculation (maybe they're laughing at us right now?), as Phil once said on Twitter something like he's been a fan of Coldplaying since the beginning....

  40. Somewhere in this video (forgot what timestamp it was and too lazy to check) but Chris jokes about an orchestra that they got to play for the songs. It's possible that maybe the orchestra he talked about, that accompanied them all throughout the Everyday Life "tour" could also be the Orchestra of Silencia for the supposed Mylo Sequel? A huge orchestral album would be so good, a return to Viva, but instead of European medieval themes it's a majestic space odyssey.

  41. I think the band will probably release something in 2021 certainly, however they have always toured straight after releasing it (even with no "real" tours for GS and EL) and I just don't see how even with massive vaccination all around the world, there will be concerts in 2021. Of course maybe I'm totally wrong (I wish I was!!) but I think realistically, we can see them live only on tv or some pre-filmed thing. Surely they would have loved to have really done something special but anything will be brought back a little. A lot of bands will prefer outside venues which might not be as prohibited

  42. Yeah, agree. They are definitely working old ideas from the MX Era, so the new album might be a spiritual successor to MX. Just like Everyday Life was a spiritual successor to VLVODAAHF in terms of soundscapes and album composition.

  43. I recently obtained some pretty good isolated live vocal mixes from a couple of shows and here's one of them. I chose HFTW because it's one of those songs where it's interesting to hear how they use pre recorded vocals. Normally in regular shows they would mute chris' mic on the chorus but in this version they have both playing kinda how like viva la vida does it. The prerecorded track on the chorus is the same vocal line they have used for the entire AHFOD tour. I would love it if you guys shared your thoughts on this! HFTW Chris Vox solo.mp3 will on hftw.mp3
