  1. And for the colabs discussion. I think that no matters who’s gonna be collaborating or not as long as the music is good.

  2. At this point I'm very jealous of Taylor Swift fans who have had two new albums come out during lockdown along with a reworked album being released next month... so far we've had Flags to keep us going😢

  4. I think Jacob collier it’s gonna help out with the space thing ( remember that moon he did, sounded very much like a space sound )

  5. I've seen this Dua Lipa debate heat up and I wanted to put in my 'two cents'. Look at this photo. It's a design concept ordered by FirstGroup for the Great Western franchise. The photo is of the prototype Standard class seat design. It's a combination of blue, violet, teal and brown of all colours. Thank god First Great Western never used it... This image perfectly sums up collaborations in music. Multiple distinct styles (or colours in this anecdote) come together to make something awful. Very few collaborations actually work, like Under Pressure, as most end up being the 'bar

  6. ^This. Taylor has been crushing it. I always liked her early albums and 1989 a lot but this past year she really became the most essential pop star. Both Folklore and Evermore are very, very good albums. Excited about the Jacob Collier news! It'd be cool if he featured... but I bet like with EL could be helping do mixing and production if the album is getting wrapped up. He also played the role of helping create "Angelina" from Cry Cry Cry, which Chris alluded to wanting to use again. I'm open to that... but also Cry Cry Cry is probably the first song I'd remove from EL since it tonally

  8. I should probably mention Will since he’s the only member I haven’t talked about and recently Im starting to appreciate him more. He’s starting to grow on me and I’m starting to fall for him I think lol One of the things I like about him is how strong he is. I feel as if he went through a lot. I like how eloquent he is. He’s a good speaker. He seems very intelligent. He’s obviously very talented. Chris said he’s like the base of the statue of the band , and I can’t think of a better way to describe him and I love that quality about him(that I can’t quite put into words as well as Chri

  9. A collaboration I would love though is Brian Eno. Literally brought out the best in them during Viva and (somewhat) during MX and his fingerprints are all over some of their best songs outside the era (White Shadows, Aliens, Arabesque). Given his experience with ambience especially with works like An Ending (Ascent) I think he'd do wonders with MOTS. It's also worth noting that many of the clues and little snippets revolving around space and even the phrase "Music of the Spheres" from Matt McGinn's book point to an era sometime around 2009-2011, where they scrapped many album ideas and e

  10. doesn't matter if I'm new to this site because I've been a Coldplay fan since 2009. You're right, we'll just wait and see what happens, but to say he WILL return and that they ARE collaborating is nothing short of fantasy until we get substantial evidence.

  11. I want Jon Hopkins to contribute again. Midnight and The Escapist are amazing, as are the ambient remixes of MX songs that he contributed to Live 2012. Except this time, I want his contributions to be completely new. The Escapist and Midnight came from snippets of old Jon Hopkins compositions and the band just added to them.

  12. If I may try to break through the tension here -- I'd like both of those things 🙂 I love Dua Lipa and think she's a real star. Future Nostalgia was a terrific album that bleneded modern pop sounds, perfect pop hooks/singalong choruses, and fun throwback intsrumentation. I also think the albums Ken Nelson worked on had THE BEST sounding recordings in Coldplay's entire career. The instrumentation feels like it's right in your face, the guitars are punchy, and the atmosphere feels alive. Ken Nelson probably is not coming back but a Dua collab is possible. They did tour together way bac

  13. look just cause it's your opinion doesn't mean it should and will happen, okay? Tons of fans want Coldplay to return to their roots, work with Ken Nelson, or bring back Brian Eno but that doesn't necessarily mean it WILL happen just because its our opinion that it will.

  14. If anyone wants to send Will a message for his 2020 birthday you can join in with a project being put together by:- https://twitter.com/shreyarealone or https://www.instagram.com/stories/shreya1975/2355494356666584241/

  15. It could be an interesting mix, since we will most likely also hear more of that high-pitched Angelina voice. Retro space vibes maybe, as someone already suggested based on that MOTS billboard. Generally I would welcome it if Coldplay were to look at the 60s for inspiration. The 60s were imho the best decade in music (before the best band of all time came along in 2000, of course ;))

  16. ^I'd hope so! If you look at the ASCAP Repertoire, there are two U.F.O.'s registered. Also -- wanted to toot my own horn and back up my prediction once more. Both Guy and Jonny have now released spotify playlists that are HEAVILY fileld with soul and retro 60's music. I seriously think MOTS is gonna be soul music driven, even if there is a space theme. I know that sound crazy, but I just have a feeling.

  17. ^For sure. I think your prediction could totally be true, essentially going back towards a more colorful, upbeat formula. And if it is Music Of The Spheres and has a space theme, then definitely some ambient, dark, or synthy flavors would make most sense. But it's so crazy that each era can stand on its own. I don't know how they do it. Like AHFOD maybe felt the most derivative of earlier records? But even then AOAL and HFTW are totally unique to that era. EL somehow ended up maintaining a pretty consistent feel despite all of its ideas/genres. So with LP9, there's no way we can pr

  18. Since i can't edit my last post I just wanted to say to the Coldplay execs that spy on this forum: A TEASE WOULD BE NICE DURING THIS BORING QUARANTINE.

  19. From an artistic standpoint I don't really have a favorite member. They all have their way of giving something to a song or to live performances that makes it special. But considering personality my favorite member is Chris. Maybe I would have a different favorite member if I we would learn a little more about the others and probably their closer to my own personality being more shy and introvert. But the way Chris sees things and talks about them really has inspired me a lot to try to be a better and happier person and see the world in a different way. To me he's like some kind of ido

  20. well, i don't really have a particular favorite member, because they are all equally important and equally Coldplay, but if you'll excuse me for a moment... *shuts off Chris mode* i am here to talk about William Champion (since no one else has yet :P). :will: Will, what can he do? really the question you should be asking is what CAN'T he do??? his name is WILL not WON'T and it shows. :will: "i don't know how to play drums but you guys need a drummer? OK!" and look at where we are now. dude is crazy on the drums. but that's not all - he plays piano, guitar, harmonica. all without ever ha

  21. My favorite member is Chris (with Jonny coming in second), because he is the one who wrote all those lyrics that resonate so well with me and are so comforting in the way they talk about the melancholy and the insecurities of life while always having this spark of hope somewhere. I feel that especially the young Chris must have had a truly beautiful mind (admittedly, I can relate less well to his mind nowadays, but of course i do like the love and kindness theme of more recent albums too); I can understand so well the way he sees the world in the earlier albums. He also arguably has the most b

  22. My favourite member is Chris. Obviously I love his way of singing, how he plays the piano (I used to play the piano and always wanted to play it like he does, but never had enough time for that lol) and the guitar... for me he's a brilliant artist, that's for sure. But apart from that, he transmits energy and enthusiasm in every single performance he does, and that's something wonderful. He loves what he does and make us love it in the same way. Not all the singers are capable of doing that, so I think his attitude is one of the main reasons of Coldplay success. Besides, he has an incredible w

  23. Yeah, he also said, when Us Against The World was requested in that live stream, that “they didn’t finish it back then but did now but he didn’t want to promote anything there”
