  2. About the still possible collab with BTS, I've just posted this on the subreddit: I was just discussing on the Coldplay discord with some friends and just came to the best possible conclusion for this whole collab controversy. Coldplay could release "My Universe", or whatever the song might be called in the end, as a solo version and release a remix of the song, now featuring BTS. Lots of artists drop their own version of the song and later release it again featuring a bigger artist on it. The Weekend did that with "Blinding Lights" (remix features RosalΓa) and "Save Your Tears" (rem

  3. OhMYGOD you guys I think I just figured out the "isomorphism" thing right after posting that I had googled that concept during the first alien radio days and i was like "uh okay i know why i didn't do more maths" BUT hear me out hear me out Here's the definition on wikipedia: AND here are some pictures when googling the term: Am I crazy or does this also remind you of: - The general message in Coldplay which is "you and I are the same and equally important" - Higher Power lyrics : the universe CONNECTED So that would mean that the radio mess

  4. I'm hoping for something in the Pink Floyd-direction or a bit more like Moving To Mars or just arty in some way. It would be very fitting regarding the space-theme and because they can sound that way. Though I like Higher Power it's not the kind of style I would have hoped for really. The track "Music of the spheres" sound more like what I would love the album to sound like, but would have been awesome with a whole album in that style with some space rock thrown in. But Coldplay have become very diverse soundwise with all collabs etc so I don't expect a concept album in that wa

  5. Pretty much all of the clips have been "identified" so far as being connected either to Coldplay in general (references to Fender, drums, Yellow etc) ; the concept of Music of the Spheres ; Space (could be about the general context of MOTS or about the HP launching event) ; or Higher Power (there are a couple with some higher power lyrics and there's the Swedish one which is likely a reference to Max Martin). The Alice in Wonderland one is allegedly a signature from the creative agency Rabbit hole. Some have not been interpreted fully yet. For instance there's one about isomorphism? I def

  6. I think we all know that MOTS will be an album, but I wonder how they will release music during this era. Gorillaz for example just did that "Song Machine" series where they collaborated with a bunch of artists and released EP's that eventually were put into one album, or "season" like a TV show. There's also precedent for Coldplay releasing songs that don't make the next album (Atlas, Moving to Mars, Goldrush). I wonder if the MOTS era will have more to offer than just the singles and albums. At this point, HP (as Kaotica) and Human Heart, and the MOTS intro seem very likely for the alb

  7. Yeah I think I'm expecting a AHFOD-type era in terms of pop/alternative balance. Higher Power may end up being a mid-album track like AOAL, Human Heart might be in the middle as well. It sounds like MOTS is gonna open up the album and in your left ear, you can hear a slow low-frequency build up that will likely transition into the first track. I know some folks think that it's HP -- but I feel like that transition isn't very clean sounding. I suspect a different opening track. I then think we'll get at least 2 more big pop singles featuring some big artists, and then two or three more alternat

  8. This is a pretty realistic prediction. I also agree MOTS to HP is sort of a funky transition and reminds me of how VLV noticeably has a different track 1-track 2 transition between the album and live shows (LIT -> COL vs LIT -> Violet Hill). I feel like every album that people have hated has had "something for the Oldplayers" - UATW/UFO/Charlie Brown, Fly On/the guitar solo in True Love/Ghost Story/Oceans, AHFOD/Everglow/Amazing Day/Up&Up, and much of EL (esp title track, Trouble in Town, Daddy). Ironically, there's sort of a weird non-overlapping set of populations who like so

  9. I have been saying since I first saw MOTS and FFTF on EL that this is more then just an album I feel like they are creating something much bigger I have no idea what that is lol but I feel like it’s something to do with uniting ppl I dunno if it’s musical or charitable or what but Chris also said in interview recently that they have a focused plan ahead . Yes we will get a album but I think there is a lot more to it

  12. that's awesome @MosesTheMarshmallow!!! I'll check y'all out. And yes @Coeurlithat's helpful! It took me a super long time to understand what the heck AHFOD was about & I had no idea MX told a story until Coldplay said so. I guess I've been hoping for a while that if the band did a "concept album" that the concept would be really apparent and clear. So now we have this "planet" concept and space, but it feels like it's going to another album where you kind of have to do your homework and piece to the loose/general themes together to get it. I guess I was hoping for more than "you're a

  13. Shameless self plug, my band is called Racemates (https://racemates.bandcamp.com/), named after a similar concept in chemistry which is that it's possible to have compounds with 4 distinct atoms (eg a Carbon bonded to a Hydrogen, Oxygen, Fluorine, and a Chlorine) and even though there's exactly the same atoms, 2 distinct arrangements in space that are mirror images and non-superimposable. We call the two versions left- and right-handed, and the mixture of left- and right-handed compounds with the same atoms are called "racemates" or a "racemic" mixture. 16. I always love how Planeta Coldplay always creates this cool extended/cover/remix/ songs out of snippets and small portions of songs... what do you think MOTS is actually going to sound like? Did we get it fully on the Glastonbury set? Or is it going to be longer?! I think we have officially hear all of it, it’s just an amazing intro....

  21. 0k, so it looks like right now everyone is discussing about a collab with BTS. Let's turn you all crazy: what if the hypothetical K-pop collab is not with them, and it is with a feminine band like Blackpink instead? How you like that?

  22. I watched an interview (can't remember which one) where Chris was asked if the different alienradio snippets meant anything and he said they don't. So who knows if it's just a bit of fun marketing or if it'll have a deeper meaning later on, and what they'll end up doing with that whole website. Same for the whole album conceptualisation with all the symbols etc. I hope it'll all mean something in the end. so far Higher Power might have a meaningful title but is otherwise not that deep so the album could be anything in the end.

  24. At Big Weekend they were using in hear monitors instead of speakers for most of the performance to make sure the songs weren't heard from most people. They would have been extra careful when it comes to a new song and despite people outside recording most of the set, nobody said anything about a new song. So I highly doubt anybody heard the new song properly, or no one could tell it was a BTS collab. If it was the BTS song, either it would have been noticeable (and so people would have talked about it as they leaked the setlist) or actually they would not have been able to hear the lyrics

  25. I'm wondering why everyone's so sure about this particular song when (as said before) Genius and other lyric websites are easy to edit. There was a link before with supposed lyrics to a song titled "Music of the Spheres" that turned out to be false because MOTS is simply an instrumental. The BTS collab may happen but I'm still rather skeptical about it actually happening. There are plenty of trolls on the Internet that post false information and at this point I wouldn't believe everything Chris says (or doesn't say, for that matter). If fans want it to happen then they'll continue posting

  26. Me too. The sounds of K-Pop can vary but I personally tend to enjoy J-Pop a lot more. I'd rather see Coldplay collaborate with an artist like LiSA than BTS, that's for sure. Chvrches worked with J-Pop group Wednesday Campanella a few years ago for their song Out of My Head and I personally love that song. Not gonna lie, I have low expectations for a BTS collaboration. I don't really like BTS's usual style of music. I think their fanbase is far more obnoxious on social media than that of any other popular artist. But hey, maybe it's not so bad. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. Huma

  27. Agree. POC and HFTW are actively enjoyable! I especially love Jonny’s big guitar riff in POC. Fun is a nice song too.

  28. If the BTS collaboration is indeed true, it could be the 2nd single (and big hit) off the album. I'm not a fan of K-pop in general and couldn't understand the mass hysteria around it. However, the previous collaborations of Coldplay with another artist/s were, for the most part, good at least in my opinion so I'm definitely curious on how this song will turn out.

  29. Having those words come from Guy and Will makes me think Big Weekend's mysterious nonbroadcasted song is NOT the BTS collaboration. A visit to the UK by BTS or even use of a BTS backing track/video seems like it'd be rather difficult to prevent from leaking, no? Also, they've already had a big collaboration with Beyonce arguably one of the most famous artists already. Though with BTS there is a non-English possibility, but then Arabesque already has its French lyrics. Racking my brain about other things the band hasn't yet done, how about: -Any of the boys (but most likely Will

  30. The BTS collaboration is definitely happening but there is nothing to indicate that those lyrics (or the title) are true. These are "collaborative" lyrics websites meaning anyone can say anything they want. The Coldplay fandom has A LOT of trolls and it's happened all the time. With the "3rd song" from Big Weekend, rumours have been at their peak regarding the collab. Lyrics wouldn't properly leak unless the song was imminent, but they haven't even properly promoted Higher Power yet (there could be lots of tv appearances to come, the video is not even out yet). So let's be patient.

  31. I'm a bit worried by this possible BTS collaboration when considering Coldplay as a great live band. It better be a damn massive hit song or something weird that they never include in touring setlist or make another version for live performances, because obviously there will be will be a very few real live performances together with BTS on stage. I'm not really enjoying the vocals coming from backing tracks in live performances, already Princess of China a bit annoyed me and there has been more and more prominent vocal tracks coming from backing tracks since that. Also Higher Power has a

  32. Well, in the end it's all about melody and the feeling a song delivers. If the lyrics are good too - the iceing on the cake. But it's not that important to me. Lets be all honest, the Higher Power lyrics are meh. But the song has a great vibe and is uplifting and addictive. Pretty sure there will be at least 2 or 3 songs on MotS with more depth to it. Anyway, if i'm in the mood for some decent lyrics i still can head over to stuff like Cast No Shadow, Amsterdam or (like mentioned before) Violet Hill.

  34. I have been studying the logos on the new Higher Power shirt very carefully and I think I have all of them solved The top logo is 3 bright stars This I strongly believe is connected with the constellation Orion's Belt which is also referred to as the 3 sisters or 3 kings and consist of 3 bright stars in the sky. The 2nd logo is the Alchemy symbol for air and I have put the meaning below. The 3rd logo which is infinity or infinite and that one sort of explains itself The 4th logo is the scientific chemistry logo for an atom molecule and the

  35. Same here - I re-listened today after the lyric video came out. I agree though about the beat not changing a whole lot, ie the dynamic contour of the song stays about the same the whole time. Orphans, ETIAW, CB are all sort of fast-loud songs that have a decidedly quiet/slowed down middle before exploding again. ASFOS and Paradise do a good job of building into the choruses with beat-drop type things. However, a positive thing I also noticed upon relistening today - let your brain focus on the electric guitar and importantly, the tambourine on the final chorus. It might change your exper

  36. It's interesting that you mentioned alchemy. Don't quote me on this because I can't remember the source, but I remember reading that the working title of Ghost Stories was Alchemy. And Chris said this back in 2014, probably in reference to how he coped with his divorce: "Music, especially over the last couple of years has been very alchemising. I mean, if you are going through something difficult in life or whatever and music for me is always a friend and something that helps me figure things out." https://i.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/music/10228957/Chris-Martins-music-alchemy

  37. I think a BTS track feat. Chris Martin would make more sense but, after SJLT, I have learned that Coldplay is not afraid at all to collaborate with any act that is "trendy".

  38. Based on several interviews, it's pretty clear that Coldplay have been working with BTS on something. Not sure what it is, it seems highly confidential. It could either be part of the album or maybe part of something on BTS' side? It was confirmed that only Chris was in South Korea a few weeks ago though. So we don't know how this collaboration will happen, or if it ever will (we don't know what could happen), but yeah there's definitely something going on! I was not too excited at first but you know what, why the hell not! The only thing that really weirds me out is that
