  1. Couple things have stood out over the past few days : 1. Chris' discussion of Max Martin seems to suggest the album will be very poppy, which I think we already were expecting. He basically said that Max is helping members of the band realize they can make songs that are more pop. Hard to know if he was talking about Higher Power or this whole era. 2. The band is still recording? Chris said he had a song for Max Martin just the other day, and it seems like they're doing their interviews from the same building where they could be wrapping up the record. So maybe MOTS wasn't finished

  2. Ahhhh I forgot about that tidbit of information! How interesting... Angel Moon's voice could be one of the female Love Choir singers, since they are credited in Higher Power and you can clearly hear them. And, get this... in the music video, you first hear the female voices sing right around the moment the big Angel Moon hologram appears. I still can't help but think that something in this era is going to connect directly to MX. Maybe the planet Silencia is one of the 12 "Spheres." The MX comics do confirm that it's a planet of its own. I just don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe

  4. I really don’t know how to feel about this, I just really hope Max Martin is trying to be more experimental and is trying some new sounds himself, working with the band to create something bigger than them, and himself; as in: I hope he isn’t trying to make something formulaic, but that he is pushing his own boundaries to grow too... let’s hope the guys are strong enough to not “follow the crowd” blindly and stand strong with their convictions on what sounds they like!

  5. It just so happens to be a Friday this year. And most albums are released on Fridays. 😮

  6. Yeah! Like why would he use those numbers if it wasn't a hidden message. He could have said 49,000 songs... Still maybe we're looking too hard for clues 😄

  7. "A melodic orbit in three parts" I wonder what that could mean... perhaps the album is divided into three groups of three or four songs, each.

  9. I agree, this video is something they've never done before. It's obvious the budget for this one was just a little bit bigger than for, let's say, Yellow 😅 Because someone earlier said something about Chris walking just like he walked on the beach for Yellow, I was looking for more similarities to previous videos. Here are some things that reminded me of earlier videos: At 1.16 you see Chris backwards like a broken record. Obvious Scientist vibes. At 1.27 his hand moves reminded me a bit of Viva la Vida. On the other hand, these are just Chris moves I guess, just lik

  11. I finally realized it!!! Angel Moon is the female voice from Cry Cry Cry!!! The one Chris talked about in an interview. This from Coldpedia: "The song features a female high pitched voice, which Chris said it's called Angelina, an alien singing made up character that is a "new voice in the band". In an interview to Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2, Chris said "That's more to come from that story in a bit of time", and on 97.9X WBSX's Uninterrupted Disruption track by track, he said that she is also present in another song that it has not yet been released.[2]" Wonder if she is also

  12. If there are 12 planets then it could be a visual album, with them visiting each planet? that could be a way of introducing the different spheres to us and would allow for a more elaborate storyline to tie the different planets and songs together. And I agree, the video for the scientist is still my favourite one (admittedly I don't watch music videos very often), it was probably much lower budget but has a good storyline and it's just perfect!

  13. That makes sense. I see a lot of similarities with Star Wars, too, and I'm not just talking about resemblance between the "angel moon" sign and Ahsoka Tano. Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones shows a part of the planet Coruscant that looks quite similar to the scenes inside the Kaotican city. Ironically, Noel's two most recent music videos tie into one another. The video for Flying On The Ground continues the story from the video for We're On Our Way Now. Something about the Higher Power video makes me think it's supposed to be part 1 of 3. But at the same time, if th

  19. Hi everyone! I've just joined and wanted to introduce myself before I start posting ☺ My name is Martyna, I come from Poland. Coldplay has been with me since X&Y, I love both their first albums (which are perfect when I'm in a reflective mood) and the last ones (which are a perfect entertainment). Now I'm waiting impatiently for the next LP 😄

  20. Yes, and I made the comparison using software. They are 97,8% identical. But (I’m a musician that plays a lot with harmonics), there is a potencial explanation. The (extensive) vocoder used in HH only let out the processed voice and a minimal fraction of the origin voice (instead of Midnight where the ratio is different. Eventually 75% vocoder and 25% dry real voice, so it sound different live always). In HH I bet for a 95% vocoder and a 3-5% dry real voice. So, sadly, it always sounds the same, in particular with an acapella song (with instruments could be different, but lets be honest,

  21. I know that it might be a coincidence but all 4 songs (Always in my Head, O, Music Of The Spheres, Higher Power) are in G Minor and the female choir of Always In My Head/O is synchronized perfectly if you layer it over Music Of The Spheres. It works even better if you paste the "OoOoOh don't ever let go". Dunno, Music Of The Spheres might be actually an evolution of Always In My Head, kinda like how Bani Adam was an evolution of Kaleidoscope.

  22. There are 12 different "spheres," so I'm guessing each of them represents one song. Maybe there will be more than 12 tracks on the album if we count little instrumental bits such as the Music of the Spheres intro. This what I was thinking as soon as I first heard it in the Glastonbury live stream. It makes me wonder... will it also be used at the end of the album? Just like how O is sampled in Always In My Head and a snippet of The Escapist is the intro to Life In Technicolor. Ghost Stories and VLVODAAHF go full circle.

  25. So we know that something will be divided in three parts. We also saw Chris running in the end of the video. Could it be a short movie with three music videos ? And the second part could be ... The Race ? Let me dream 😂

  26. I noticed that the Music Of The Spheres intro from the Higher Power video is on exactly the same key as Always in My Head and O, you can literally paste the one over the other and they match. I pasted the "Ooooh don't ever let go" vocal from O and I can also hear some elements matching in timing on where they should be from the O Instrumental to the Music Of The Spheres intro. I don't know if that says anything, but atleast my guess is that it's the opening interlude from the album, like Mylo Xyloto was on MX, and how O was incorporated to Always in my Head and vice versa (O is essentially a s

  27. That's definitely possible. There's nothing that suggests Dave Meyers wasn't asked to make a three part series of music videos for this new era of Coldplay's career 🤔 Maybe they'll tell a story that begins with Chris journeying into the Kaotican city. After all, lots of artists have released music videos that tie into one other. Interestingly enough, towards the end of the video you can see what looks like two other planets or moons overhead. Due to their size, they're probably moons of Kaotica. You might be onto something with the theory that they'll release a set of

  31. Yesterday I got inspired to revisit Coldplay’s official YouTube page and re-listen to their “Politik” song. So when I the page loaded, I noticed someone new [ please see image attachment ]. Someone managing their YouTube account has disabled everyone from commenting on their “Politik” song and this has me outraged. I’m 32 years old and I’ve seen the growth of the internet for quite some time however I whole-heartily disagree with this idea of silencing voices, thoughts, opinions and ideals on this grand place the internet. The video itself was uploaded on 2014…we can
