  3. Quick question: am I wrong to assume that - given the fact that My Universe has not even passed the 50M streams on Spotify - this song is, just like Higher Power, not really well received by mainstream audiences, given the number of monthly listeners that Coldplay typically have on for example Spotify?

  4. That snippet doesnt really sound intresting.

  5. Another quick question: it is becoming clear that - with this new Album and for example its collaborations - Coldplay produces music with the intention of appealing to a ‘new’ generation of fans. Knowing that, it is much easier to ‘accept’ songs such as My Universe, or a collaboration with someone like Selina Gomez. It does leave me wondering though: why do they choose to incorporate so few elements that most people would argue are typical ‘Coldplay’ in their new songs, but then release a single song - Coloratura - which is like fully covered with Coldplay elements? 6. Kind of sad they already released Coloratura. Imagine all the buzz we would have had listening to MotS for the very first time and this masterpiece coming on. I'm a bit upset with myself that i couldnt resist listening when they dropped it... Sometimes i felt like they really wanted to show us - " Hey, we're not only into pop music". And they're fckin right😎

  7. Dang! I was not expecting the song to have a beat like that. Interesting.. I guess it's continuing that trend of doing the 80's style but with very modern production. It sounds like a groovier Everglow.

  8. It's BTS' first #1 on the Rolling Stone chart as well.

  9. From the snippet it sounds quite draggy to be honest. I'm not really seeing the similarity with everglow yet other than it being a piano ballad.

  10. It sounds like Fun or Princess of China but with better production. Fun just sounds so muddled and because of that doesn't hit the highs that it should, while Princess of China is great live, but the synths in the song just make me want to cut my ears off. As for the actual song being better, we'll have to wait and see...

  11. I think that's reassuring since it's just the intro to the song.

  12. So are there only eight tracks on MOTS that you can call songs? The other four tracks are just snippets? Too bad we couldn't get "The Race" on this album. Oh well, maybe it will show up as a B-side or on an EP eventually.

  14. Same dude, it has been one of my dreams for Coldplay to go ambient and listening to all these previews makes me go all TINGLY. Coldplay can build amazing soundscapes so if they go ambient, they're gonna go hard 😍

  15. I'll take it. But i really wanted to see Jungkook duelling with Jonny in a guitar solo.

  16. If it really is a short instrumental track like those on Reddit are speculating (I have my doubts personally), maybe this is where the hidden track is buried.

  17. Coldplay have today announced their much-anticipated collaboration with BTS. My Universe will be released on September 24th. The track, sung in both English and Korean, was written by Coldplay and BTS and produced by Max Martin. It is available to pre-order / pre-save now, with a CD single also available to order, atmyuniverse.coldplay.com. My Universe follows Coldplay’s worldwide hit Higher Power as the second single to be taken from the band’s forthcoming album Music Of The Spheres (out October 15th).
