  1. I'm so used to the long version. As long as they don't start playing the radio cut of the song live, I'll be good.

  2. That'd be amazing and having a music video for that masterpiece it would be interesting. However I'm not really sure how could you narrow down 10+ minutes to be radio friendly πŸ€”

  3. Yes, but to me the β€œthis might be our last record” does feel different to β€œwe will make 3 more”. Because Chris has always explained that the first statement is more a state of mind, to put everything they have into the album. Now it feels like they really have thought this through. But we’ll see. From now on they’ll be full of surprises, right? πŸ˜€

  4. After many listenings i have to admit that People of the Pride has become a strong favourite. I love it when they go that dark and nearly angry style. The production is great too, love all the little effects, especially towards the end. This song has written attitude all over it. Having a walk (..to the sound of my favourite tune^^) while it's on your headphones is really great for your mindset. AND Chris choreography live is just amazing 😎

  5. If that's the case, why bothering to play the guitar live? I mean, Maroon 5 has a guitarist but he's just as absent live as in the studio. Jonny makes his guitar cry, have you seen the Seattle show today? He was on fire as I've never seen. The whole band loves Jonny hence their question "Does this have Jonny?" I think the problem is with their producers: they tend to trust too blindly what the producers say or think is best for them, and they either don't bother saying something against it or think it's actually the right thing to do. I just think they're accommodated and don't trust the

  6. With all that discussion about Jonny's guitar, I think I'll leave my two cents here. Coldplay are my religion and I freaking love everything they put out, but I'm bothered by a few things they tend to do. Jordan said Jonny is in the background more in some MOTS songs, but the thing is, I don't want him in the background. I'm not saying I want him to be loud just like on 1.36, Talk, Animals, White Shadows, Amsterdam, Only Superstition... I just want to have the minimal of it. Jonny is just so inventive and creative in the live settings, he creates a whole atmosphere around the song or sim

  7. So I was thinking last night why MOTS feels like a solid but incomplete album to me, and then it hit. Jonny. I hadn't taken into account how little impact Jonny has on this album as a whole. So I went back to every Coldplay album and asked myself, "does this song have a notable Jonny moment?" That means it could be a guitar solo (e.g. Paradise, Don't Panic) or it could be a driving presence of guitar throughout the song (e.g. A Whisper, Strawberry Swing, Ink). This is subjective, obviously, but the differences are stark. I am excluding all interlude tracks from the count (MMIX, MX, MOTS)

  8. Long time ago I really loved a song of Coldplay at first impression (ex. Arabesque and Coloratura maybe). This is really stunning and my dreams come true now this Viva-demo finally makes its birth. I love the way how they performed this track, so convincing and dedicated. But what I admire the most, is that they don't seem to be afraid to strive again for hard-rock. It reminds me of AROBTTH, X&Y and Viva at the same time. And having said that, I'm smiling and can't wait to hear the studio version!! ps. Am I the only one who thinks Jonny's riff is quite reminiscent to the bassline in A
