  1. Hoping for 2.5 hour concerts given the number of good stadium-fit songs Coldplay have accumulated over the years + this era’s songs. update on The Race: A fan spoke to Phil Harvey about it today for the secret album release gig in NY and he pretty plainly said “nothing about it tonight my friend” so I guess it’ll be a while until we get to see this song released. Possibly in a future volume of MOTS

  2. Probably Higher Power, Viva La Vida, A Sky Full of Stars, Fix You Although the band know we all want the setlist to be: Higher Power Higher Power (Tiesto Remix) Higher Power (Acoustic Version) Higher Power (ZHU Remix)

  3. Didn't he produce it though? It's in the credits of the song anyway, so stop pretending that he didn't. Obviously his main goal is to make pop songs but stop pretending that he didn't have anything to do with this. Excellent production all around, even Higher Power had better production than most of their other poppy stuff.

  4. Max Martin is literally the main producer of the album, how about admitting he did something you guys liked and that y'all were wrong (once again) for shitting on the band for trying something new? 💀

  5. Regardless of when we get the singles, I think, looking to the future, we're gonna get the "Vol.2" early next year. There is literally no way they would do a winter tour due to Covid unfortunately increasing and getting worse surely until next summer again. So a summer 2022 stadium tour would be the best bet for them to actually perform in front of a live audience. Until then they have quite a lot of time and that's probably why they've been recording further on. It's a tantalizing prospect however, are we set for another album or an EP style vol.2? In any case, stylistically it's gonna

  6. I'm hyped for this. BTS are one of the most fun and charismatic pop outfits in the world, a perfect fit for the sounds Coldplay love to show on their more joyous chart-pop tracks. Chorus has hit written all over it, and that outro bops too. Production sounds rich and layered. It won't be one of the band's classics, of course, but it should be a fun pop tune. We know two more art-y and emotional tracks will be on the album, and the trailer showed off some more abrasive sounds too. I, for one, am loving this post-AHFOD era of the band, pure eclecticism and freedom. I know their best albums

  8. Every time I see people talking about “The Race” I remember when we couldn’t stop talking about “Car kids” 😆. If you know, then you’ve been on this sub for awhile…

  9. I think the average person / non-fan will look at this collab and say it's a sellout and or cash grab but I genuinely don't think it is. Will it be a smash hit and sell an incredible amount? Yes. But that doesn't mean the band have sold out. If this collab was a natural and organic one, which it seems like it was, then I have no problem with it. I doubt it will be my favorite Coldplay song, but I am looking forward to it and I honestly like what I have heard so far!

  12. Just saw the back of the Higher Power CD and I'm confident that Music of the Spheres will be divided into 2 Volumes and 3 Parts. MOTS Vol.1 already has Music of the Spheres I & II with 8 tracks each. This would mean that track 5 on MOTS Vol.2 is MOTS III and Vol.2 will have 12 songs as well. This is just a guess but it would make a lot of sense with the attached picture of the Higher Power CD and the Lithograph also says: Vol l. From Earth With Love. Vol.2 will probably be the right one.

  13. Took a short trip with my girlfriend to Las Vegas for the weekend and went to the iHeartRadio festival on Saturday. Second time I've seen the band now, and I still haven't seen a regular tour concert but oh well. It was fun, pretty short but it's nice to see them again. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about how good Fix You and Human Heart sounded... and nothing beats the Viva la Vida singalong when you're in the crowd. So good. I think the set was so short because of the time slot that iHeartRadio had given them, not because of what the band wanted. Billie Eilish's set was around

  14. I said it after the leak and I believe it even more after hearing the proper snippet - this is a great pop song with a strong hook, a funky bass line, an interesting structure (that drop at the end!) and a fun, fitting featuring artist. Is it a masterpiece of composition like Coloratura? No. That's OK. I think it's a strong single that will chart well, probably grow on me even more and, most importantly, it reflects what the boys want to do. Quite frankly I find the comparisons to SJLT and X Marks the Spot, which I've read from various people, a little bizarre. The track sounds absol

  17. Maybe we will see some teasers in the booklet for Vol.2. I hope that the Kubik Limited Edition has at least something unique compared to the standard version apart from the looks. That's probably not going to happen, but one can dream😄

  18. I think it's similar to the Chainsmokers collab, if anything it's more of a cash grab. They've been marketing this collab quite well, talking about shared values etc. But at the end of the day BTS are very much a brand. They have an incredibly long list of brand deals under their belt, more than I've ever seen with any other artist. It's quite impressive actually, but those deals are made because they're very lucrative. It's not all about their music or their values. I always liked how Coldplay mostly stayed away from such deals and focused on their music instead as well as projects like the M

  19. I agree. SJLT is a BANGER and I like listening to it from time to time. My Universe will do much better than SJLT though although this ain’t about doing a cashgrab collab, they actually genuinely idolise each other, breaking down those barriers and giving BTS the honour of being on a Coldplay album. It’s probably the most wholesome collab they’ve ever done. Since Army is involved, it will no doubt smash all Coldplay records

  20. I am disappointed by the gap between Coloratura and the next single. I wish they'd release another promotional single. <insert The Race suggestion>

  21. In case anyone missed it, the band posted a video of Will rehearsing for Coloratura with some fun drums and his singing! Live performance sounds IMMINENT!!! https://www.instagram.com/p/CTaJRDpIQCt/

Two days before the opening of the IAA Mobility international motor show taking place in Munich on 7 – 12 September 2021, BMW is unveiling its own, globally unique virtual world: JOYTOPIA. The highlight of the presentation on 5 September will be an exclusive performance by Coldplay. 28. I think that the song, had it been worked on more, could have been good. Currently the vocals sound like he's pretending he's from Bristol, and the rest of the song is a bit tinny, but a re-mix (I don't mean a remix) and new vocals would make the song Fine™. I like it as well. It sounds a lot better made than Higher Power (which I have grown to like quite a bit) and the lyrics don't seem bad at all. The snippet in Overtura was also my favourite one out of the songs that haven't been released yet. But obviously I'll need to hear the whole thing to make my mind up fully.

  29. It's a nice beat and I like Chris' melodies. It's clearly an unpolished demo/idea and you can tell he was trying to come up with lyrics. I think people are too harsh on it lol. It actually fits well right after Army of One.

  32. Well, this just changed. Now the ASFOS EP, which included the Ghost Stories bonus tracks, is on Spotify here in the US. Just added a couple days ago. Funny coincidence 😂 Ghost Story in particular is on par with Oldplay. No question. It's darker than most Oldplay, but the actual instrumentation doesn't sound too different from songs like GPASUYF and AROBTTH. All Your Friends sounds like a fusion between Viva and Ghost Stories, with war-themed lyrics, electronic beats from Will, a prominent yet somber bassline from Guy, ethereal guitars, and ambient sounds throughout. It's pretty good.
