  1. Hey everyone, I wanted to post something last week to say Thalia did a fantastic job of representing and Will said after he'd really enjoyed the interview. I just wanted to let you know that I felt there was no point in asking questions directed to Chris when he wasn't going to be there. I also told Thalia that as the band has been interviewed many times since the questions were sent & the album's release, some of them had already been asked so it felt like a great opportunity to ask ones that hadn't been asked before. Yes, I vetted all the questions. I pointed out my favourite and ones

  2. Stephend2000 Note: Hey Guys, I’d just like to congratulate Thalia (Batman) on interviewing one of the biggest bands in the world!! Also thanks for making the expensive trip to Berlin to represent the site, we truly have the best team members ever! We are forever grateful to the wonderful Debs Wild and Phil Harvey. Phil set us up with Debs and she has been the most kind and helpful person that we could have asked for. Enough babbling out of me, enjoy the interview! Coldplayers! We are absolutely thrilled to present to you the latest instalment of Coldplaying Asks Coldplay! This time, we ha

  3. Just catching up now, and generally, same old Coldplay fan (over) reactions. To put my own opinions out there though, no I dont like this song, and I dont like this direction. But that's fine because a) its not even listed as 'Coldplay' b) its for charity, so who tf cares, as long as someone else likes it and will buy the music for charity. But again, its typical at this point. It's like we've made up our minds whether we like something or not BEFORE even hearing it or without trying to reason with ourselves and realize, hey, this isn't even actually Coldplay. I did read the whole thread qu

The wait is over for those living in Germany, France, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Sweden, Italy, Ireland & Wales as the band tweeted a Gif containing the flags of each of these countries at around 2pm today. This will be Coldplay’s third time in Poland and Austria, 11th time in Sweden and Ireland, 13th time in Belgium and 21st time in Italy. The band will also perform in Wales for the first time sin

  5. I wanted to write about this so people have an idea of what the experience is like! I was so honoured to do the intro video for the first show in Toronto, and receive a tour of the b-stage from Ben before the show. Here's how it happened. It's been my absolute dream to do the intro video on this tour so I wanted to try my best to be chosen for this show. I work about 2 minutes away from the Rogers Centre and got off at about 12:30. Then I decked out into my Chris Martin outfit and headed for the Rogers Centre. It was HOT - so hot I didn't think I would be able to wait for so long in the hea

  6. Rant and 2017 plan below I just finished reading everyones messages in here and it honestly saddens me to see that the board is not the magical place it used to be. I have been on the forums for a very short amount of time (May 2015) so I don't know what Coldplaying was like before. However, what I can see from reading old threads is that there was a huge amount of active users that were almost like a family. Nowadays there are not many active users and there isn't that excitement that I once got when visiting Coldplaying. There are a few things that caused this: 1. The Viva La Vida and

To those who asked about it, here's what kind of Coldplay-related decoration I have in my room: Next to my desk I have my own little "Sky Full Of Stars" with (mostly) coldplay songs written on it (it took FOREVER to write all those lyrics on it): And also on my desk I have this important reminder (and a few printed out pics that aren't really worth taking a photo of): My door is AHFOD themed (I'm also thinking of putting a "Harveytown" sign on the outside of my door, my family would be confused haha): A self-made and AHFOD inspired poster where I put all song quotes I like t

  8. Alright so I've read through all of the great previous reviews, and I'll try to not repeat too many things :awesome: So what can I say, the organisation of the FOS1 left/right, FOS2 and general standing area was pretty much a big steaming pile of unfabulous poop. We were all just clustered together and in the end it didn't matter at all which site was printed on your ticket, you could walk freely thoughout the entire FOS1 area. From what I've heard the FOS2 people were pretty angry about the fact that the runway of the mainstage didn't go all the way back to the FOS2 area, which I can to

  9. Hello there everyone! In case you don't know, I was extremely lucky to have introduced the band and performed on stage with Coldplay at Levi's Stadium on Oct. 4th, 2017! It was the most magical thing in the world. I know I messed up soooo much at the beginning due to the delay being extremely tough to get used to. But I got the hang of it around the first verse! So I figured, if you guys want to ask me anything, go ahead! I'd love to chat with everyone! :) if you need a link to the video, here is one that my good friends Jimmy Dushku and Ian (founder of Atlas Project) took!

  10. I've just gotten home from the best trip of my life! Five Coldplay shows, tons of new friends, and thanks to Coldplay, my life might have changed forever. This review will not be so much from the shows themselves, but more about everything that happened before and after. It's proof that Coldplay is amazing in many more ways than just through their music. So let's go back to the start... So to sum it up in short... Thank you for everything Coldplay, we love you!

I just wanted to share with you my story, actually my friend Claire’s and my story, cause we went through this together and ohmygod the awesomeness of it all you guys won’t believe it :awesome: Here are some pics: Fix You :dead: Amazing Day :dazzled: Confetti on the ground looking like a fckin rainbow now if that's not Coldplay magic :awesome:

  13. Really not sure why y'all think this song isn't finished or is lacking a Death and All His Friends climax? This isn't a song for the stadiums, it's a nice, gentle, somber closer that moves without being dramatic. With just enough of a glimmer of hope. It's a smooth, subdued finale that resigns itself to the quirks and frustrations of the thing it's titled after. And, unlike Coldplay's weakest songs, it never pretends to be something it's not. Just like everyday life, Everyday Life just simply exists, and that's what makes it beautiful. This isn't meant to be Fix You or Amsterdam part 2. Ins

  14. Super oldplayer here. This isn't Coldplay. It's not intended to be. This is the 4 members of Coldplay collaborating with others for a special festival. Music is/ has been transitioning. It is communal. It is collaborative. The days of one artist/ band slogging away by themselves in the studio are going away. Old artists are becoming producers who will be bringing up next gen artists. This is very much what the boys are doing here. but their fingerprints are everywhere. Johnny's r&b groove through verses. Lots of Guy bass and programming. 2:35 Chris' piano is lit. Will expan

  15. Just adding my two cents, Coldplay saved my life so like... I understand that some of you might be pissed about this "new direction' but you can't expect a band to follow only what YOU want to hear - as Guy stated in the documentary "You can't always please people." and this is a prime example that if you don't like this direction they're going in - then great! You have like 7 other albums (plus EPs) to listen to, but they seem to be doing something different and I for one am excited to see what new songs they'll come up with... wether it's under "Coldplay" or "Los Unidades" So quit havi

  17. So, this is my 2,000th post on Coldplaying!!! I would just like to say thank you to all the people here for making this forum as awesome as it is. :) You all are incredibly nice people and I have enjoyed having this place as an outlet for my Coldplay fandom. I was a big fan for a few years before I ever created an account, but it feels especially "worth it" when I've got a place to be a Coldplay nerd with fellow fans. :) I love how supportive this community is and out of all the message boards I have ever been a part of, this is the friendliest. Here's to 2,000 more posts, and beyond! :D

This time I wanted to take something else than just memories back home with me. I wanted to spread some joy amongst you people. Yeah I know, corny right? So after every Coldplay concert I went around the venue and gathered what people had just carelessly thrown away. And since I was around 5 giant venues with thousands of people attending, I found quite a lot of what I was looking for. I'v

Then at around maybe 2pm this guy who turned out to be Coldplay's media guy, being responsible for all the videos on the big screen etc. came and asked me and Jamie, who'd just come to the front to talk to me for like 10 minutes, if we wanted to come backstage and shoot a little video for Coldplay. I was a little confused at first but surely i couldn't turn this down. I hadn't watched barely any live videos cau

  23. Why does everyone think Chris is the only one who likes pop? Clearly poppy songs were approved by Will and Guy with AHFOD. They all love multiple genres. They will likely never go back to 2000 alternative rock bc it is not 2000 anymore. And the level of upset on this thread is a bit much IMO. They are doing this for a good cause and hyped it to get it attention so it would get the recognition it needs for a good cause. C'mon now.

  24. oh my fucking god I love this song. I can't even find an accurate adjective to describe it. Finally another Coldplay song that isn't predictable! I love songs like Hymn For The Weekend but I'm so so happy they released something more experimental. That weird sound at 0:23, the backing vocals, the strings, the drums!! They kinda remind me of The National too @dieselbenz, and that's a very very good thing. The lyrics are a little vague but I like that, I love me some mystery. Cool that this song is luring alienated (hihi haha) fans back, too! But most of all, welcome back, political Coldplay.

I would even go as far as to suggest that Barack Obama isn't even there singing it at every concert. Truly shocking :( And to think I thought I trusted the Cold Play.

  27. Hi guys, I've been away for a while and now I feel like I have to share some stuff, I don't know why. But when AHFOD came out, I really hated the record. Although I liked AOL (it was released on my birthday and I played it multiple times during my party), I thought the rest of the album was shit. Everglow and Up&Up were okay, but the rest? I didn't want to like the band anymore. I've been a huge fan since Parachutes and this was too much. But after a few weeks I listened to AHFOD again and I started to like it. I started watching interviews again and I finally understand this album. Alt

  28. I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to travel to NYC to see Coldplay perform on the Today Show. It was an absolutely amazing experience and my second time seeing them on the plaza (2008). They looked and sounded great even though it was super cold and rainy. But as Chris noted....their "from England" so their use to it. Seeing them live seems more exciting each and every time but watching them rehearse is a very intimate and unique experience. I did my best to record as much of the rehearsal as I could so that I could share the experience with my fellow Coldplayers. It's such a

  30. Hey everyone, I thought I would come on here and talk about my experience and explain a few things! I was lucky enough to receive an invite from Coldplay as a thank you for the support we have given them during the past few months. Promotion for this album from fan sites and fans, in general, was key during this era as it was of course, marketed differently to other albums. We arrived at the Museum with an hour or so until the doors opened. There were two entrances, the left one being for general admission ticket holders and the right being for VIP or guest list. 40. So I want to share my experience of my first concert ever. I was kind of worried at first that I arrived a bit late (around 5pm) because of the traffic and having school in the morning, but it turned out all right, we got spots almost at the front of our category. Sadly the FOS2 left was anything but at the front of the stage (idk about FOS2 right...?), which disappointed me a little, especially since the price seemed to be the same as FOS1... I couldn't see the B- and C-Stage, but the view at the main stage was actually rather good, so it was alright. I had actually hoped to be a little clo

  44. I'm sensing a lot of reactionary negativity to this right now. To be clear, if Coldplay wanted to release this as Coldplay, they would have. But this isn't Coldplay. It's just Chris, with the consent/production of the band, helping curate a positive sounding EP that has social justice, fundraising, and inclusion in mind. To me, that's all wonderful. Plus, we should reserve judgement until we hear the full EP. And I'm so so excited about Voodoo!!!! I don't see this as any indication of where Coldplay's going. All of this was likely recorded in 2017/early 2018 and it showcases new up and

I called up the station and by some miracle I was picked, the DJ read me some Coldplay lyrics and I immediately knew it was Viva La Vida. In December Coldplayers from my country came up with an idea how to bring Coldplay to us.
