  1. Agree with that^ However I do believe that Coldplay have become much bigger than their type of music warrants today. I mean they are a household name now and there are more casual fans of the band than ever before who know them only through their hits (Paradise, Viva, The Scientist, Yellow, ASFOS, SJLT). This imo skews their listener profile and so for them to carry these fans to their next album, they need to have Pop songs, ensure relevance by collaborations etc. So today, I don't understand Chris. Imo he's not being honest with himself. They say they don't care about chart perform

  2. Apparently world tour is confirmed. This was seen at the WTC in Mexico City https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=7064617426897257&id=114385191920550

  3. I don’t want music that sounds like what they were doing 20 years ago. Coloratura came out this year, Everyday Life less than two years ago. I want stuff that sounds like what they’re capable of doing now, and they’re clearly capable of a lot better than the bulk of MOTS.

  4. They probably just get lost in the Spheres and find it difficult to get back to our Solar System.

  5. I see in social media lot of messages about people who doesnt want the new album to be leaked and I dont understand why. Nobody forces you to listen the new album before de 15th, but what is the problem to other people listening it? And what is the difference with people who has now the CD and can listen the new album before all of us? I assume that all of us will buy the new album, even if we got the mp3 files earlier. But if we can listen the album the 11 or 12 better than the 15th, isnt it?

  6. Why hello everyone! I can't believe we're finally here! MOTS is out!!! I listened to it about 5 times I think yesterday. They've done it again, they put out a truly surprising record. What stands out is how bold it is, they've made bold choices and therefore it is only normal that opinions are divided. The flaws imo: I do think the flow is less optimal than usual, which is a surprise because that's truly something they have mastered for a while now, a signature of their albums. I do think also that depending on the platform/version you listen to, there are lots of differen

  7. Maybe is to announce that MOTS was a lie to cover the real and big surprise: Higher Power J Balvin Remix and the acoustic remix to complete the Higher Power Infinity Songs...

  8. Not excited? I've been counting down to this Friday since the release of Higher Power! I've taken the day off work Friday, so I can spend the whole day listening to the album, watching interviews, live performances, etc. 😀

  9. I think there low-key is a leak but it’s really only the elites who are getting them not plebs like us!! This is great for Coldplay anyway, means that we will all hear the album at the same time relatively. I’ll be one of the first in the world being in New Zealand, less than 1.5 days to go now!!

  10. My special edition CD came early...so it's just leaked inside my house 😀

  11. Their leak prevention's been good this era, impressive for an artist this huge, even compared to EL - HP didn't leak at all, MU got leaked, but it was the unfinished demo, while the entirety of the album hasn't leaked. It's impressive how many of the "leaks" have been the band basically shooting themselves in the foot - leaving behind alien languages in Barcelona, accidentally posting the Higher Power teaser a week ahead of time, Phil leaving little clues about planets, playing songs during a public event even before the album was announced, Warner and its other companies posting about ot

  13. I already came to terms with the fact that Coldplay are going through a decline, which is normal for most artists and bands once they start getting old. Artists with high integrity tend to be the exception, and there are others like The Killers who seem to get better with each release. Analyzing Coldplay's long career retrospectively, it becomes more clear to me that they peaked with Viva La Vida, and they weren't able to be as prolific and creative ever since. I'm not expecting that much for their next LPs really, but it would be interesting to see if they will continue to make music with thi

  15. You don’t become one of the biggest bands in the world without sticking to a system. In Coldplay’s case, that means starting every album with an agreed-upon title that dictates the project’s direction, from songwriting to production style to visuals. “It allows us a little bit of discipline in the studio knowing what we're trying to build,” bassist Guy Berryman tells Apple Music. “If you're building a building without any kind of architect's drawings, you would just start piling bricks on top of each other.” This preparation particularly came in handy in the case of a paralysing global pandemi

  16. People are allowed to not like it. People are allowed to like it. You should be free to express your opinion whatever it is.

  17. MOTS2 has to be the most pointless interlude in Coldplay history imo

  18. As someone who will totally listen to the album once it leaks, I think it's fucked up to ask someone that received the CD earlier to do so, let it be their own decision.

  19. It's very time consuming prepping posts to slate the album, insult Chris's lyrics, the production, cry for the old stuff etc. Luckily we only have to wait a few days for this usual wave of positivity to hit.

  20. Everybody knows the mums know best, so here are my mother's opinions on the new album. My Universe My mother didn't like it when it first came out but after hearing it for a second time it has grown on her a lot, like it has for me. Humankind My favourite track on the album alongside Coloratura, my mother was positive about this song. I loved the choruses on this song, and my mother did as well. Let Somebody Go She didn't give any opinions on it (although that isn't a bad thing), but she did ask "Who is Selena Gomez?" Bless her. She is my idol. Human Heart

  22. I just finished listening to the new album and I only have one question: How does a band manage to produce something as beautiful, meaningful, melodic and special as "Everyday Life" and in less than 2 years release something as empty and forgettable as "Music of the Spheres"? 😐 I never thought Coldplay would be able to create a shallower album than A Head full of Dreams, but I was wrong. Anyway, I'll be here looking forward to the next album!

  23. Biutyful being one of the better tracks is a plot twist I didn’t see coming

  24. I cannot stop listening to Biutyful, I don't get it lol. I like it overall as a song, but I don't like crazily love it or anything (I think, maybe that's in the process of changing!). Something about it is just a VIBE. I've literally had it on repeat now for the past 2.5 hours straight!

  25. After two listens, all I can say is we'll always have Everyday Life.

  26. Wow. I’m impress. No leaks. I might as well wait then. Lol. Not long for me if they are indeed releasing at midnight (it’s 6am here 🇳🇿).

  28. those who got the album before are not even reacting to the songs, they just came on social media to say they've got it before... did they receive special instructions with a letter from Chris?

  30. Well, this album is really hit and miss for me. Unfortunately more misses than hits. It starts off okay with Higher Power and Humankind (which was clearly written to be performed in stadiums) but then... ✨ is pretty empty like the other interludes (🌍 is the most pointless of them all, literally why). I don't understand why they put Let Somebody Go and Human Heart there right next to each other, it makes me sleepy, sorry . I find Let Somebody Go incredibly dull, definitely a skip for me. However then People Of The Pride swiftly makes me wake up again. I don't mind the production, I ju

  31. I’m exited to listen to the whole album through, and catch whatever idea they are trying to communicate, experience the Spheres as they were deemed by their masters! Actually I’m really excited for all the tiny instrumentals between songs too!!

  32. The same, I have hopes for People of the Pride but I'm also curious about Human Kind and♾️. I'm not that hyped for Biutyful at the moment, but maybe I will be surpised in the end.. I've the feeling that my favourite track on MOTS will remain Coloratura

  33. Tomorrow it will leak surely - it's two days till release and the CDs will start arriving to stores. But all due credit to Coldplayers and every single who received their CD ahead of the release. They could have leaked it easily and damage the sales a little but chose NOT to do so. All credit to them. I'm also so proud of the boys. I was here for the LP4 leak ("the album is leaking in Justin" - only hardcore fans will know what I'm talking about!). They've done a great job with this one. Whatever you want to say about Max Martin's production, some songs on the album are spectacular and we

  36. So someone posted a supposed leak of the album on dbree and I was happily downloading it just for it to be OK Computer by Radiohead 🤦‍♂️. Plus they gave themselves the work of naming the tracks properly with MOTS tracklist 🤣. This world just gets weirder

  37. Hey all, I'm bored waiting for the new album to drop, so thought it'd be fun for folks to share what they think Coldplay will perform during a MOTS world tour era. This is particularly tricky because with nine albums out and the band historically performing tight two-hour shows, it is hard to imagine how they play all of their hits while still leaving room for moments that feel intimate, unique and pleasing to old-school fans who have seen them before and don't want to hear the same setlist. There's also the question of whether the tour set up will be like AHFOD, with A,B, and C stages o

  38. Havent been here in 6 years. Just finished my first listen. I love it. It will never top my favoruite albums but Coloratura and People of The Pride can be compared with my top songs. Somehow the album gives me that Coldplay feeling I had looong time ago. I really liked Everyday Life, but as some of you said since the hype I havent actually listened to it. This one feels different.

  39. I still have to listen to the whole album (Coloratura included!), except for HP and MU (and yes, concerning these two songs, I personally think that Coldplay can do - and have done - much better). However, reading some reviews I have the impression that the critic is not really reviewing the album, but rather reviewing the band. For instance I agree with several points in the Pitchfork review (f.e. when they miss Chris saying "We can't get bigger, we should get better!", instead of "We want to make music for those who like us"), but most of the piece sounds more like a harsh critic of 202

  40. Yep… in a way, it’s like an infantile behavior (“look my new ball but I will play alone”). I know MOTS won’t be my favorite album (I was in that first Coldplay concert at 1998 and since then I follow them), but Coldplay is about partnerhood. It’s beyond music, for me.

  41. I think Coloratura will remain my favorite from the album, how could anything top it? Unless they have written a new Yellow or Fix You or something like that.
