Despite her incredibly glamorous appearance, the actress has had a "rough week".

Six-month-old son Moses was home with conjunctivitis. "You don't want to know," she told People.

But she had another man on her mind: her 6-month-old son, Moses. "I'm frazzled. My baby would just not settle," she said. "Yes, I have a good sitter. And he's fine now; he settled just before I left. But it was a long process."

The previous day, Paltrow steers the course for her mini-me, 2-year-old daughter Apple. Also along for the ride: mom Blythe Danner, who took charge of Moses.

After spending some time in Spain to shoot a commercial ad for a wine company, Gwyneth has now travelled to NYC with Moses and Apple, to present the Star Award to Aerin Lauder at the Fashion Group International's Night of Stars on Thursday Night.

In addition, Gwyneth joined one of her best friends, ex model Helena Christensen, at the Hollywood screening of Babel, a movie starring her ex-boyfriend Brad Pitt and beauty Cate Blanchett, in New York City on Tuesday evening.

"I don't know where we're gonna be [at Christmas], I don't want to travel that much. I believe we'll stay in Europe or we'll go to New York, where my mother lives. This year's the first time my daughter Apple will know that Christmas is, and I want to do something nice and relaxed with few people for her."

When asked if her kids have already met Gwyneth's Spanish part of the family, she says: "They know my daughter, yes, and my two Talavera sisters will come to see me so they can meet Moses, who's six months old. My parents haven't met him, and they really want to. Next year I want to spend a whole week in Talavera."

Gwyneth will play Maureen Dean, the wife of John Dean who, unlike Mitchell, stood by her man as the Nixon team went down in scandal. It is not yet known what Brad's part will be.The pair were last seen on screen together in homicide thriller 'Se7en' in which they played husband and wife.

Gwyneth is now married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin and has two children, Apple and Moses, with him. Brad is in a relationship with Hollywood beauty Angelina Jolie and is joint legal guardian of her two adopted children, Maddox and Zahara, and father to her daughter Shiloh Nouvel.

Brad and Gwyneth split in 1997 but she later said in an interview with Barbara Walters that she regretted breaking up with him. She said she wished him well and couldn't believe he went out with her when she was "such a mess."

The mother-of-two has been struggling to lose the weight she put on before giving birth to son Moses in April and is now following a strict eating programme designed by celebrity health guru Dr Joshi. A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Gwyneth is really testing her willpower with this one. She has followed a macrobiotic diet for years and has only recently relaxed rules so she can have dairy products. But now Dr Joshi has listed everything she can and cannot have in order to get back to her pre-baby physique - it's scary."

Gwyneth - who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin - is banned from eating wheat, dairy products, tomatoes, peppers, fruit, sugar, gluten and red meat. She is also forbidden from drinking alcohol.

Last night when I met up with Piers, I thought I would do the casual, “So. How’s Coldplay these days?” Instead, it came out all shrill and bitter, “So how is that f*cker doing, anyway??”

Piers’ face registered a subtle look of surprise. He recovered quickly and provided an outwardly diplomatic response of, “He’s alright, I guess. I don’t get to see him much. He’s still in Hong Kong. He hasn’t come to London for a visit yet, actually.”

On the way home I wondered why, after a year’s time, I am still harboring useless anger towards Coldplay. Was it because I was jilted? No, because I had forgiven him for that. It was his prerogative to end the relationship and I can’t possibly hold a grudge for the break up.

I thought about how, after Coldplay discovered Piers and I were maintaining a friendship subsequent to the break up, he tried to interject himself into the situation. He said things that hurt me, probably to get attention.

Then I realized, “Why do I care?” I don’t know why I’m angry. The point is, I need to give myself some sort of closure. This person doesn’t live in the same country. I haven’t spoke to him in about a year. I have moved on with my life, and he his. I don’t need to hang onto this bitterness. It’s a freaking waste of energy.

While I was at it, I wondered where else in my life am I making this same mistake? Bam. Obvious. Darth Vader, my old boss. I spend way too much time thinking about that spindly psychopath. It’s over. I don’t ever have to see this person again. Why do I still feel such intense hatred for her?

I need to reformulate these feelings of resentment and put the energy towards appreciation for my new life. Would I ever want to work for Darth Vader again? No. I hated working for her. I love working at my new job. How about instead of thinking about how I’m angry at her, I thank her for giving me the opportunity to leave a bad situation for a super duper one. I’m going to become a better writer at my new job, and I’m getting paid for it. It’s ridiculously awesome. Thank you, Darth Vader! You saved my career by having me reject what your crapass had to offer!

And now for the million dollar question: Would I ever date Coldplay again? Is there any reason whatsoever for me to feel upset that our relationship failed? The answer to that is a resounding, “Hell no!” Why is that? Let’s do a comparison.

Life with Coldplay: Um, let’s see. How much fun was it to listen to an armchair journalist complain that he is so stressed out, that he would prefer to have a job as a cleaning lady because it would be less stressful. Or he would rather be Mr. Mom and let me be the breadwinner. Be a man, you little f*ck. So work involves stress. Grow up. (Okay there’s that anger again. Deep breath.) Back to why he was not an ideal mate, but in a more objective fashion this time. He couldn’t make a simple decision to save his life. Hamburger or pizza for dinner? Oh my god, let’s listen to him debate himself for the next twenty minutes. And you get to listen to this every day for the rest of your life. No thank you, Coldplay! But thanks for freeing me up so that I could tackle Red Beard!

And now for life with Red Beard: He is someone who wants to be a man. He wants to take on his career and sink his teeth into it. He wants to suck the marrow from the bone that is his career. Or something. (Take that, cleaning lady! Not that there’s anything wrong with being a cleaning lady. It’s just that if you’re doing it to avoid ambition and stress, well, then that’s a problem. If you’re doing it because you are satisfied by cleaning or you want to work hard to make a living, then that is admirable.) Red Beard can also make decisions, even when it comes to our relationship. He decided that he wanted me in his life, so he asked me to move in with him. There was no tortuous debate that he carried out in front of me like, “What if you have too much stuff? What if your hair clogs the drain? What if I get sick of you? What if you don’t let me watch football for nine hours straight?” I’m sure he wondered about all of those things, but he spared me the details of his inner monologue. Thank you for dumping me, Coldplay, so that I may live with Red Beard and enjoy the hell out of his sexy butt! Thanks once more Coldplay, because now I can date a real man instead of some man-boy hybrid thingie!

With Father's Day this weekend, the best of celebrity dads have been battling it out to be named Dad of the Year by a US magazine.

While most kids would surely give the title to their own dads, Life & Style magazine assessed the hunks of Hollywood (and Coldplay's Chris Martin) to decide who deserved the title of top father.

Top of the papas came new father Brad Pitt, whose daughter Shiloh was born just last month. Brad is also daddy to Maddox and Zahara, the two adopted children of girlfriend Angelina Jolie."He even skipped the Cannes Film Festival in anticipation of Shiloh's birth," Life & Style editor-in-chief Debra Birnbaum said.

Completing the top five were film star fathers Heath Ledger, Ryan Phillipe, Ben Affleck and Will Smith. Coldplay's Chris Martin, dad to daughter Apple and son Moses, came in seventh.

"It's been really exciting to see how Hollywood's leading men are taking on the responsibility of fatherhood and how they each showing their unique personalities and styles in raising their children," Ms Birnbaum added.

Matthew Broderick, Guy Ritchie, David Arquette and Dean Cain rounded off the top ten dads of the year in the magazine's rankings.

Angelina Jolie's adopted son, Maddox, has been voted as the cutest celebrity kid in the US magazine, Life and Style.

The four-year-old, born in Cambodia, came top of the class as the best looking child, beating Sean Preston, the son of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, into second place. Maddox's cute looks and Mohican haircut meant he was a cut above the competition, though whether siblings Zahara and Shiloh Nouvel challenge him for the mantle of cutest kid in the future remains to be seen.

Third place in the poll went to Apple Martin, the daughter of Coldplay singer Chris Martin and Shakespeare in Love actress Gwyneth Paltrow.Another British dad who will be proud of the performance of his little one is film director Guy Ritchie, whose son Rocco came fourth, ahead of Julia Roberts' twins, Hazel & Phinnaeus Moder.

James Wilkie Broderick, the son of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick came eighth, while Catherine Zeta-Jones' Carys crawled into tenth place.

NEW YORK - Gwyneth Paltrow, on hiatus from acting for more than two years, is ready to get back to work.

"For a long time, I thought, `I've done it. I've done what I wanted to do. I'm not interested. I just want to be home with my family,'" the 33-year-old actress tells Harper's Bazaar in its September issue, on newsstands Tuesday. "I had no spark for work, but I feel the feeling back. And I'm excited about the prospect. I want to do something kind of fun. I don't want to do anything depressing or mad. I want to do a really great, funny, weird character."

She has a 2-year-old daughter, Apple, and 4-month-old son, Moses, with husband Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay.Paltrow, who won a best actress Oscar for 1998's "Shakespeare in Love," stars in "Running With Scissors," based on Augusten Burroughs' best-selling memoir. The film opens Oct. 11.

For Paltrow, parenting is "a total joy" - and a major time commitment.

"I do not know how single mothers have more than one child with no help," she tells the magazine. "It requires so much of my life, and I don't have to change sheets and clean toilets, you know."

Paltrow doesn't read celebrity tabloids, and says the family's home in London helps them avoid the paparazzi. "We have a gate and a car. It's easier to control it a bit more. I just hope the whole paparazzi thing continues in the way it's been going, which is with less interest in people like me and more interest in people like Nicole Richie - who I think is an excellent dresser, by the way," Paltrow says.

"She's supercute. It's really fair that the press attention goes to those who want it and court it. I think that's great."

Gwyneth Paltrow is considering surgery to help fix her post-baby figure.

The Oscar winning actress gavee birth to her second child, son Moses, four months ago but is worried about the effect motherhood has had on her figure. Gwyneth told an old friend: "My stomach is rippling, my breasts don't feel good. I've been trying to work out. I want to do something about it."

The 'Shallow Hal' star went on to discuss surgery with her American friend, herself a mother, who was visiting London. Gwyneth's pal recommended post-pregnancy surgery that helped her to lose 24 inches from all over her body.Gwyneth asked: "Can you get that in New York?" Her friend replied "Sure. And you wouldn't get hassled about it in New York."

Gwyneth, wife of Coldplay's Chris Martin, is a vegan, teetotal, and eats a strict macrobiotic diet. She also loves yoga and tries to do it as much as possible. While she lunched with her friends at a pub in North London the actress nibbled on salad and drank water. The 'Shakespeare in Love' actress has not worked since she fell pregnant with her two-year-old daughter Apple.
