DOUBLE DISC OF SERIES TWO RELEASED ON

MONDAY 26TH MARCH 2007

As previously reported, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant co creators of the multi award winning BBC series Extras, launch the double disc DVD of series two, complete with exclusive extra clips, including behind the scenes footage, a video diary and lots more unseen exclusives. In series one Extras brought to life the mundane tedium of the life of Andy Millman (Ricky Gervais). Andy was a desperate man. He’d been an actor for five years but thanks to his useless agent (Stephen Merchant), he’d never done any acting. Instead he was just a lowly film extra, walking around in the background while the stars did their lines.

All that soon changed in series two, when Andy’s script “When the Whistle Blows” was produced by the BBC and put in front of a main stream audience. Despite his burgeoning success, Andy is still surrounded by the usual cast of idiots: his hapless best-friend Maggie (Ashley Jensen), his incompetent agent Darren Lamb (Stephen Merchant) and ‘Barry off EastEnders’ (Shaun Williamson).

Each episode features cameos from guest stars including Chris Martin, Ben Stiller, Samuel L Jackson, Orlando Bloom, David Bowie and Robert de Niro.

The super-producer will help out on their fourth album

As previously reported, Timbaland has revealed that he is to work with Coldplay on their fourth album. The super-producer revealed that he is coming to the UK in April to meet with the band, whom he is known to be a big fan of.

Speaking about his production method of not having a preconceived idea of what the sound will be, Timbaland told the US edition of GQ: "I try to get into their heads, see what they're thinking about. I just try to figure out how they are feeling. And if they are feeling a certain way, I go by that. It's more about everyday life - then it (should) be about music."

As previously reported the band are also working with Brian Eno on the follow-up to 2005's 'X&Y' at their own purpose-built studio in north London.

Melodic pop/rock is rapidly becoming one of the most popular genres in the music scene today. The beat box styling and bubblegum pop bands that headlined the charts in the 90s are long gone, replaced with musicians singing soulful ballads combined with artistic piano playing. For the most part, music is getting back to the roots of the creative process. Although it is hard to pinpoint the exact pioneers of this progression, a few key names pop up, names like John Mayer, Howie Day, James Blunt, The Dave Matthews Band, and Jack Johnson.

One of the most influential bands of this typedates to 2000. Coldplay made their first full length debut then, with their album Parachutes. It ended up selling eight million copies worldwide, followed by A Rush of Blood to the Head with 12 million copies in 2002 and X&Y with 10 million in 2005.

These three albums leave fans longing for more. Songs like "The Scientist" and "Clocks" are still stuck in people's heads and continue to be featured on movie soundtracks. Coldplay have always been a big supporter of various charitable organizations such as Amnesty International and Oxfam. Even when they are out of the studio, they continue to be active in events for good causes such as the Live 8 concert. Ten percent of all the profits they make from being in the media go to charity.

17 years ago, in a small house on the Delph Hill estate in Bradford, Steven Frayne’s grandpa bought his grandson a magic book. Within months, the seven year-old had gotten pretty good; fast-forward to 2007 and the 22 year-old is probably the best magician working in the UK today.

“F*ck me. That’s the greatest magic I’ve ever seen,” gasps Coldplay’s Chris Martin on Dynamo’s self-made and self-financed DVD, Underground Magic: Volume 1, which also features the shocked expressions of everyone from Snoop to Mike Skinner.

“Dynamo is the inside of Steven Frayne getting out. Does that make sense?” the boy himself wonders in his Bradford brogue. “I have all these visions and Dynamo is how I express them, how I get them out of my system. Dynamo is what’s inside me.”

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are in for a nasty shock - rock'n'roll couple Kate Moss and Pete Doherty look set to move in next door.

The supermodel and the Babyshambles singer are currently searching for a new home together and have viewed a house on Gwynnie and Chris' road for the second time. The pair are now said to be considering a bid on the £5million, five-bed Grade II-listed Georgian house in London's Belsize Park - which could threaten the tranquil life so treasured by the American actress and her Coldplay singer hubby.

A source tells The Sun, "They have looked at this place on Chris and Gwyneth’s road and are pretty keen. They like it because there are options to make it a bit more private from the road, just like Chris has. But even if they don’t go for it, Chris and Gwyneth won’t totally escape. All three houses they are considering are within a few streets of each other.”

Coldplay Vs Eno: During the award season last year Coldplay promised they would disappear for awhile. Now they are threatening to flood radio with their emotional pap once again in the company of producer Brian Eno! Rumor has it that Eno has promised them that he won't fix them to sound like the Talking Heads. David Bryne could not be reached for comment.

Among the fifteen 7"ers will be their debut single "The Blue Room" which has never been on vinyl before, as well as the download-only track "The Hardest Part." "The Singles 1999-2006" sells for fifty pounds in the UK - so you do the math. Gwyneth Paltrow could not be reached for comment.

Chris Martin has turned into a "big kid" since wife Gwyneth Paltrow landed a role in 'Iron Man'.

The Coldplay frontman is a huge fan of the Marvel superhero and has splashed out on hundreds of copies of 'Iron Man' comics to help Gwyneth research her character. A source told website Absolute Now: "Chris is like a big kid with this. He's ordered a whole stack of comics which he says are for Gwyneth to help her get into the role but in fact he's spent more time reading them than she has."

The mother-of-two is set to play Virginia 'Pepper' Potts, the executive assistant to Iron Man's regular alter ego, billionaire industrialist Tom Stark.

Gwyneth, 34, will star alongside Robert Downey Jr. - who will play the armour-clad hero - in the Jon Favreau-directed film, due to be released in May 2008.

Kevin Feige, president of production for Marvel Studios, said: "Gwyneth is the embodiment of a leading lady.

"She brings intelligence, poise and an incredible range of talent to this role."

The Yellow singer has criticised the trend for mobile phone ringtones of chart tunes, insisting it is killing the current music scene.

He says, "All that matters in music today is that your song becomes a ringtone."

Nelly Furtado Returns to U.S. Album Top Ten While Earning Platinum/Gold in 25 Other Countries

LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Geffen Records) - International superstar Nelly Furtado knows how to say it right, all right.

Powered by the success of her current single, "Say It Right," her platinum album "Loose" has returned to the Billboard Top 200 Album chart with a strong No 7 position. The album debuted at No 1 when it was released June 20, 2006.

"Loose" has spawned three hit tracks to date in the States: "Promiscuous," "Maneater" and now "Say It Right." Her next track waiting in the wings to follow "Say It Right" in the States will be "All Good Things (Come to an End)" - already a hit in Europe. Well known for her diverse collaborations, Nelly co-wrote the song with Chris Martin of Coldplay.

Furtado, currently on a headlining tour of Europe, to be followed by a concert swing across her native Canada, has also been dominating the top positions on International single and album charts. Her dream of being a "global" artist has been confirmed with "Loose."

Furtado has brought home platinum and gold awards in 25 countries. Seminal rock bands R.E.M. and Van Halen, punk poet Patti Smith, hip-hop pioneers Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and influential girl group the Ronettes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12 during a ceremony at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel broadcast live on VH1 Classic.

Eddie Vedder inducted REM, saying that the inductees "took [Pearl Jam] under their wings. They became like big brothers." REM frontman Michael Stipe returned the favor, saying, "The honor of being here is heightened four times over by the other artists here tonight." The band then played "Begin the Begin", "Gardening at Night" (which Stipe dedicated to his father) and "Man on the Moon" (with an assist from Vedder) with former drummer Bill Berry, who retired from R.E.M in 1997.

Van Halen, whose planned summer reunion tour with David Lee Roth was recently postponed indefinitely, was represented only by former singer Sammy Hagar and former bassist Michael Anthony. Roth reportedly refused to attend the ceremony after squabbling with Rock Hall organizers about what songs he would perform, and neither of the Van Halen brothers were on hand as Eddie Van Halen entered rehab for undisclosed reasons last week. Velvet Revolver performed a medley of "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" and "Best of Both Worlds," while Hagar and Anthony jammed on "Why Can't This Be Love" with the house band led by Paul Shaffer. "I can't tell you how much I wish everyone was here tonight," Hagar said. "[but] I think Eddie's going to come out the other side a better person, and maybe we'll get our buddy back. You couldn't have kept me from here with a shotgun."

Jay-Z read the induction speech he wrote for Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five from his Blackberry before the seminal rap combo took the stage for the first time in more than a decade, performing a medley of songs such as "Superrappin'", "Freedom", "White Lines", and "The Message". Flash also put on a scratching display from his turntable perch.

Making a rare public appearance ahead of a reunion by his band Rage Against The Machine, Zack De La Rocha inducted Patti Smith into the Hall. After an emotional acceptance lamenting those who couldn't be there to see her induction (including her late husband, MC5's Fred "Sonic" Smith), Smith promptly tore into a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter," followed by the Bruce Springsteen-penned hit "Because the Night" and "Rock'n'Roll Nigger," which she said was her late mother's "favorite song to vacuum to."

Keith Richards inducted the Ronettes before Ronnie Spector (ex-husband of producer Phil Spector) and the rest of the group (without Estelle Bennett, who did not perform for health reasons) played a medley of "Baby I Love You," "Walking in the Rain" and "Be My Baby". Bandleader Paul Shaffer read a note from PhilSpector, who is awaiting a murder trial in California, which said, "I wish them all the happiness and good fortune the world has to offer."

...was a huge success! Jimena, Oxfam's wonderful campaigner in Mexico, reckons over 3,000 people signed the Make Trade Fair petition over the 2 nights. That's phenomenal! We had two tables inside the huge lobby, and our super team of volunteers wandered the area ready to talk to any of the incoming fans. Here's a few photos of our stall, and also the video screens at venue which were showing short videos about the campaign in Mexico.

For all of you people that didn’t see the Ricky Gervais/Chris Martin 'Fix You' thing until somebody uploaded it as a video on the internet, you probably don’t know about this. I have HBO on Demand and I can watch any Extras episode whenever I want, and so there’s this little clip called “Who’s On Extras?” and it talks about all the celebrity extras on the show (such as Chris!) So there’s a little part with Chris saying some things about the show, I couldn’t upload it cause I can’t record it but I can tell you what he said (thought it was …interesting.)

“I’m playing the part for “Chris Martin” [here he does the little quotation marks with his fingers, lol]. Why did I play it? I’ve always had to just stay at home and masturbated. Could have been a waste of another day.”

A bit later into the video:

“I’m not an actor, but when Ricky Gervais called me means it’s difficult to say no, when someone’s that annoying you just want to get them off the phone.”

The Coldplay frontman, married to Paltrow since 2003, was in Brazil recently and left journalists worrying about his wife.

"Gwyneth Paltrow must suffer," was the startling pronouncement of one writer, in a comment to msnbc.com's The Scoop. "Chris Martin, her husband, isn't one of the nicest persons on Earth. At least that's what it seemed on the 20-minute press conference."

Example: Asked if he has considered a duet with his wife, the peevish Martin replied: "What's your favorite sexual position?"

OK, so that's odd.

Another prickly point included Martin's observation that the only important thing when it comes to music these days seems to be having a song become a ringtone. He finally "stormed out" of the chat with Brazilian journalists when his wife's name came up again, according to The Scoop report. Poor Gwyneth - married to Mr. Grumbles.

The real news here in Coldplay-land? Martin told another interviewer that they're heading to the studio to record another album, and one song in particular is, well, pretty special: "I can't tell you about it, but it's basically genius."

Great. Can't wait for the ringtone.
