'Mylo Xyloto' named in biggest selling albums of the decade list

Coldplay's colourful fifth album, 'Mylo Xyloto' has been named in a list of the biggest selling albums of this decade, so far. Compiled by The Official Charts Company, the top 40 highest selling albums, based on UK sales since 2010 sees Adele perched at the top of the tree, with Coldplay not too far behind, at #13!

Chris Martin's first acoustic guitar up for sale at London auction

Chris Martin’s very first acoustic guitar, used during the recording of Coldplay’s UK number one hit album Parachutes, will up for grabs at Bonhams Entertainment Memorabilia Sale, taking place 24 June.

Auction will take place at Bonhams Knightsbridge on Wednesday 24th June

Chris took the guitar with him to study at University, where he met Jonny Buckland, resulting in the band forming

Rare memorabilia worth between an estimated £7000-9000

Guitar originally bought from Bill Greenhalgh's music shop in Chris Martin's hometown of Exeter

Guitar used during early Coldplay songs and the record of first studio album, 'Parachutes'

Case includes a sticker, titled 'the Coldplay'

Signed artwork from the band also on offer

Video of 'ASFOS' during Champions League Final opening ceremony

'A Sky Full Of Stars' was set to feature in the UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday night, within the opening ceremony of European football's ultimate event. The Coldplay hit blasted out over the stadium speakers, in Berlin, accompanied by the spectacular build up, from the dancers, as you can watch in the video below:

Only a few countries had the privilege of watching the ceremony on TV, as the pre-match show collided with the advertising times of many TV stations.

Barcelona went on to beat Juventus 3-1 in an entertaining night of Football.

Chris Martin performs 'Til' Kingdom Come' at Beau Biden's funeral

Chris Martin performed at the funeral of Beau Biden. The late attorney general, the elder son of former U.S. Senator and current Vice President Joe Biden had been a massive fan of Coldplay and when Chris heard of this, he volunteered to attend.

'A Sky Full Of Stars' kicking off Champions League final

Coldplay's hit single from their latest effort, 'Ghost Stories' will be featured in the 7 minute opening ceremony of the UEFA Champions League final, according to Globo Esporte. 'A Sky Full Of Stars' will head what looks set to be an entertaining game, in world football's most prestigious fixture, as Spain's Barcelona take on Italy's Juventus.

Coldplay star alongside the Game Of Thrones cast in amusing comedy sketch

Coldplay and the Game Of Thrones cast, which included the likes of Peter Dinklage and Kit Harington teamed up for Red Nose Day this year, as part of a comedy sketch, which brought delighted fans plenty of laughter! Standout moments included Chris Martin's moment of delight in meeting Jon Snow and Chris' confusion with Targaryens, calling them 'Kardashians' instead, before being corrected by drummer, Will Champion, who was pictured in fancy dress and didn't look out of place at all!

Coldplay uploaded the 12 minute feature onto their Youtube channel, as shown below.

Coldplay have recorded a song for departing Radio 1 DJ, Fearne Cotton. Posted on the BBC website, 'Gone But Not F.Cotton' is simplistic Coldplay at top form. The lyrics are very light hearted and are meant as a reminder of Chris' (and the band's) time with Fearne and the melody is simply beautiful with four part harmonies and comparisons with 'Green Eyes' and 'Prospekts March'. Coldplay's special musical for Red Nose Day, with the Game Of Thrones cast is set to be aired on NBC tonight, at 8pm EST / 1am BST. The charity special will be 3 hours long and it's currently unknown as to what point during the show Coldplay's musical will feature.

The official streaming link for the show is : http://www.nbc.com/red-nose-day. For Coldplayers outside of the US, the Hola extension for Google Chrome is very helpful (clicking on the American flag). Official - Coldplay to perform 'Game Of Thrones' Musical (May 21st)

Coldplay have officially confirmed that they will perform a musical this Thursday, themed on popular TV series, Game Of Thrones, in which Will Champion appeared on for a short cameo, years ago. This comes after various reports from Hollywood Reporter and The Daily Star, linking the band's new song titles with the Red Nose Day comedy sketch on May 21st and their references to Game of Thrones. Fans on the Coldplaying messageboards predicted the same, with the majority of members voting on the comedy sketch as the reason for the song registrations, rather than their possible involvement on the band's next album, 'A Head Full Of Dreams'

We could see a reference to Harry Potter too during the upcoming musical, as the character, 'Voldemort' was one of the song titles registered by the band.

Coldplay to combine forces with the Game of Thrones cast?

"On the drums, is the incredible star of Game Of Thrones, the Red Wedding episode, it's Will Champion", as Chris put it, during their recent BBC Radio 2 concert. Now, it's rumoured that the six new song titles, revealed yesterday, may be part of the Red Nose Day comedy sketch on May 21st, where Coldplay could combine with Will's on screen pals, from Game of Thrones.

Keen fans of both Coldplay and the popular TV series have spotted the character and episode references, such as 'Red Wedding' and even 'I'm A Real Bastard' is an apparent reference to Jon Snow. Here's the quote confirming the cast involvement:

“Game of Thrones” cast members Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Emilia Clarke, Iwan Rheon, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Mark Addy, John Bradley, Rose Leslie, Alfie Allen and Charlotte Hope have joined “Red Nose Day”
