Glee creator Ryan Murphy has revealed some of the artists who will be featured in upcoming episodes. Speaking to E! News, Murphy said that Coldplay and Bryan Adams had refused permission to use their tracks, but revealed that Lady GaGa will be covered soon. Glee returns to the US on April 13 on Fox and continues in the UK on Mondays at 9pm on E4.

"We're doing an episode that's a tribute to theatricality," he explained. "We reached out to Lady GaGa and she said, 'Yes, I'd love to be a part of it'. So we will be doing Lady GaGa this season."

Murphy also revealed that Madonna was helpful when he asked her permission to make an episode based on her songs. "I've worked with Madonna before," he said. "I admire her greatly and I'm friends with her a little bit socially. I called her up and wrote her a letter and said we want to write up a tribute to you and she said yes and she co-operated in every way possible. We do ten songs altogether. Jane [Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester] is going to do 'Vogue'."

Meanwhile, Matthew Morrison, who plays Will Schuester, revealed that he will perform with Neil Patrick Harris when the How I Met Your Mother star guests on the show. "We have two duets," he explained. "Aerosmith and Billy Joel."

Sorry it took so long as I have been away from home since 26th. We're just back It was surreal to see the last ever VIVA show on 11th as we were lucky to see them at first ever Viva show at Brixton Academy in London/UK way back in June, 2008 (which was pure luck as we discovered there was a concert while we were in London - D'OH) So we somehow managed to witness the opening and closing of an era It's amazing to see how things improved and changed inbetween these two dates! I have yet to take proper pics of rest of the items, but here is a small teaser of Chris's first piano - Fender Rhodes! I'm getting a glass display case made for this so wait for proper photos of it on display. I haven't cleaned anything on it and never will. It still has all the spiderwebs inside and dirt outside lol. It also has some handwritten stuff on it, on many places on both the piano, and the flight case. Some might even be lyrics, but I have yet to verify as it's mostly black on black and green on black with some of the writings wiped making it really difficult to read. Amazing piece of music history, as this is the piano that Chris has moved to London with way back when he started school. As Chris claims, when the band were first getting to know each other, it was only because he owned this that Guy wanted to speak to him at all. This piano witnessed the whole band history. Early school days, Starfish days, "the" Coldplay and finally Coldplay Some of the earliest Coldplay songs were written on it, and Parachutes album was also recorded with this piano. [thanks lo&loud]

I blame the altitude! I will let you into a secret. I actually left Chris' leg in the back of a car in Rio; it had fallen off and I hadn't noticed. We were reunited very quickly and the following day he was given to the crew carpenter as he had a severe head injury; basically the back of it had come apart. As you can see the puppets took a beating on this gruelling tour and sadly didn't quite make it until the end. It's a shame they weren't photographed well in Guadalajara and of course at all in Monterrey.

Q. Dear Oracle: in the concert in Mexico City on March 7 in the "Foro Sol", how did Chris knows that day was the day of the family?? Because he said in Spanish "feliz dia de la familia" - thanks for answer.

We'd heard earlier in the day because the area around the hotel was closed to vehicles. A few people had ventured out to go shopping and seen families with children playing in the streets for themselves. The band do take an interest in what's going on around them and that's also why Chris is very keen to speak the local language with a few colloquialisms thrown in; there was a pretty rude word used in Guadalajara much to the crowd's delight!

Q. Dear Oracle, first of all I have to say that yesterday was the most amazing concert I've ever been to, and hope you guys come back pretty soon. My question is, did the Coldplay-shaped puppets made it to Monterrey? they seem to be MIA around here.

The Oracle replies:

I'm surprised they survived the tour to be honest. I don't know whether to blame Tequila for their behaviour in Guadalajara; as you can see by that photo they were certainly not at their best. It was a very hot day and they weren't in the mood to go to Zapopan Catedral, Teatro de Gollando or Acueducto. There was a party here in Monterrey on Wednesday night for all the crew members, Bat for Lashes and of course the band. That was quite a late night and so the following morning the pesky puppets were, as you say, missing in action. They even refused to have their photo taken with the real band members yesterday. There will be one last photo but I doubt it will be a scenic shot of this wonderful terrain. It's a shame because I quite fancied taking them on a trip to Mirador del Obispado.

Q. I suppose the band ends up feeling extra hyper after a show... what do they do to cool down and finally get a good night sleep?

The Oracle replies:

On this tour we have had aftershow parties which are actually rather civilized gatherings. We'd arrive back at the hotel probably a maximum of 20 mins after the fireworks had gone off and meet up again for food, drinks and chat. The bedtimes varied but Guy was always the first to retire and the first to emerge for breakfast.

Done and Dusted, the DVD company behind the release of Coldplay's live 2003 DVD, has uploaded a trailer online to their website for Coldplay from back in 2009 when they played in Barcelona, sparking further rumours that a DVD from the Viva la Vida era will be released. The clip shows a three minutes live performance of Viva la Vida, and includes various audience shots as well as panoramic views from behind the stage.

It is still unknown whether this news will be officially confirmed or if the DVD will also include footage from other stadium shows, including Paris, Wembley and the Latin America concerts, but you can watch the Done and Dusted trailer via D&D's Youtube channel at the Coldplay forum now.

Coldplay apparently filmed the Barcelona concert for a live DVD, Spanish media newspapers widely reported before the concert, and according to the sources, the filming process took place place with a sophisticated camera system that included a high crane installed outside the stadium to capture aerial views of the show.

EMI, which is owned by Terra Firma, the private equity group controlled by financier Guy Hands, could be put up for sale this summer, reports the Telegraph this week. Warner, which has long coveted EMI's recorded music division, and KKR, which is interested in the music publishing business, are understood to have met in recent weeks to discuss how they might structure a bid. However, no approach is thought to have been made and talks remain at an early stage.

EMI, home to artists including Robbie Williams, Coldplay and Katy Perry, is under pressure to come up with a rescue plan over the next few weeks that will persuade investors to back a £120m refinancing to stop the company being taken over by Citigroup, its lending bank.

Sources believe Citigroup would be quick to put the company up for sale if it seizes control. Any deal to buy EMI would likely not take place before the music company's stand-off with Citigroup is settled. EMI needs to find the £120m of new investment by mid-June to avoid a covenant breach on its £3.2bn of debt. In a further twist, Terra Firma has launched a lawsuit against Citigroup alleging it was mislead over the acquisition of EMI in 2007.

EMI's music publishing arm is thought to be worth about £1.2bn, although its music recording business is more difficult to value given the departure of big name artists including the Rolling Stones and Radiohead. The recorded music division was responsible for 55pc of EMI's £293m of profits last year. Both divisions are putting together five-year business plans that will include future trading and profit projections. Terra Firma needs the backing of 150 of its 200 investors, who have already seen their investments in the music company all but wiped out.

The company was hit last week by the departure of music boss Elio Leoni-Sceti. Charles Allen, the former ITV boss and currently non-executive chairman, will step up to an executive role following Mr Leoni-Sceti's departure. Warner has coveted EMI's recorded music business for the last decade but a previous proposal for a tie-up was blocked by competition authorities. It is understood that Warner believes a deal would be given the green light by anti-trust authorities this time around.

KKR and EMI declined to comment.

The future seems cloudy for struggling music label EMI, reports various internet media sources this weekend. The home of Coldplay, The Beatles and Pink Floyd is seeing a change at the top of its management. This at the same time its private equity owner is at risk of losing control of the label to Citigroup.

On Monday, the CEO of its recorded-music division, Elio Leoni-Sceti, said he would step down at the end of the month. The company also said it would promote Charles Allen to the position of executive chairman. Allen currently serves as the non-executive chairman of the company. Of greater concern could be the owner of the company, Guy Hands' Terra Firma. The equity firm is looking for a cash infusion in order to pay off loans to Citi, which was a big financier of Terra Firma's takeover of EMI in 2007. Hands has purported that Citi tricked him into buying the music label. The two sides are currently engaged in a contentious legal battle.

Should Terra Firma lose control, a company to watch will be Warner Music Group, which has "actively pursued" the company in the past. Warner's last pursuit of EMI ended as the Terra Firma deal was being pursued. Of course, there might not be much worth saving. The Rolling Stones and Radiohead have already departed the label, and Pink Floyd might not be too far behind. The group, which lambasted the record business on its classic Wish You Were Here album, and the label are at odds over royalties from sales via iTunes.

Coldplay's world tour ended in Latin America last night, as they played at the Estadio Universitario, Monterrey, Mexico in the final Viva la Vida concert. Chris Martin dedicated The Hardest Part to his father, and Chris at one point early on in the set had to ask people to move back from the front to prevent people getting hurt in the audience. There was no LeftRightLeftRightLeft CD for the Monterrey crowd but the crowd did sing Cielito Lindo and the band as sat down at the edge of the stage again to listen to them.

The setlist was the same as the previous nights. This means that Coldplay once again played Shiver during the acoustic set. The new song written specifically for the Latin tour, called Don Quixote/Spanish Rain was played once again. Some excellent photos have already been posted to Flickr here and also here. Wow. We JUST made it back to our hotel.. Time sure flies. We were present at the FIRST ever VIVA concert back at June 16, 2008 in London / Brixton Academy..and now the LAST one at Estadio Universitario, Monterrey, Mexico..also went to couple other shows inbetween these two at various times in 2008, 2009, 2010..but these 2 dates were extra special. It's amazing to see how they improved themselves.. during this time frame. After I arrived back to hotel..I'm asked myself - if this all could have been any better? The answer is no, it was just PERFECT. The show couldn't have been better as we say our goodbyes to the VIVA tour. It was pure MAGIC. [thanks lo&loud]

the concert was awesome! i went to the hotel after the concert and got there as the same time but security was soooo tight and rude so i had to leave, someone said they were having a private party im still trying to go there tomorrow. I will upload videos and pictures it was AWESOME!!! im so glad they closed their tour here, i feel so proud and it was just what i expected. wow i have no words really [thanks joliefan4life]

im just back from the show, cant make a proper review right now. the concert was great, the setlist as you may already know was the same, the charro/mariachi thing was not coldplay, the roadies were wearing the outfits but you already know that too. some things i can remember right now:

- Chris dedicating The Hardest Part "para mi papá" (for my dad)

- at the beginning of one of the songs (cant remember which one) he asked the crowd to take one step back cus some guys in the front were getting hurt, it was pretty intense

-We sang Cielito Lindo and the band sat down at the edge of the stage again to listen to us

-No leftright given, quite dissappointed to be honest. At least i didnt get any and i saw nobody with one. Actually Chirs said that if we wanted the album we should visit ocesa.com.mx, though h had a hard time trying to pronounce/remember the name of the organizer. [thanks hugo]

i just arrive at my house, and well. i about to puke, i almost die in there. And no because the exciment. Everybody on the first lines where pushing...i started in 5th row and finish almost in first. I didn't get a nice place, i was at side of Jonny (and im sorry about it...y wish i could be from the side of Guy) but almost were the sound is. But well, second row is plain nice. I will be uploading soon everything. ALL my sister where on diferent places for a best video posible, btw, sorry, my sister couldn't make the online broatcasting...the 3G for Telcel wasn't working. And i get troubles to get in. My ticket was bad printed and i even cry for get in!! thanks god there was somebady who could help me! AND WE DON'T GET LRLRL!! i need to find out if it was because i leave so late or by other thing. [thanks ana_berryman]

The show was good. The crowd didn't even begin to come close to the crowd in Guadalajara. There was some pushing at the begining of the show but it chilled out after the first couple of songs. Had a huge problem with the hotel/ cab. When I checked in I asked about arranging a car service to bring and pick me up after the show. Hotel said they would arrange a cab for this. I told them he needed to drop us off where he wanted to pick us up so we would know where to find him. They said no problem. After the show he didn't return. Called the hotel, they tell me he had no intention of returning because there was traffic! No really, duh! And he wouldn't send a car to get us! We didn't even know where the cabs were at this venue. We had to wonder around and then none would stop for us. Finally a nice couple who were not from Monterrey offered to share a cab with us. The guy got one to stop and I paid their fair otherwise I might still be out on the street right now. The guy said " that's how it is in Mexico" no that's just how it is in Monterrey because the other two cities were perfectly fine. Jackie told me something in Guaralajara: it was either "I have seen you for two years on this tour!" Or " it will be two years before I see you again on tour!" the crowd was too loud to tell which. Q. First, I must say the show in Mexico city was the best thing ever... I'm walkin' on a dream, I really love you guys. and more than a question I wanna say thank you, because your music for me is the best, it makes me feel, COLDPLAY! is my favorite band since many years. So many people thinks bad things about Mexicans and that we are the worst, but you said you really love Mexico, so why? What is the thing you most like about it? Or what do you like about this country??

I have to say that it's not just Mexico but everywhere on the Latin American tour the fans have been amazing. All the people we have met are so lovely and made us all feel very welcome. Mexico has been so much fun and the Guadalajara crowd were quite possibly the loudest yet even though the venue capacity was the smallest of the tour. Here in Mexico we have enjoyed the hospitality of the people, the food, the climate, the fans and of course the tequila! Tomorrow's final show is hopefully going to be the best night ever as we say our goodbyes.

I'm back! It was fucking amazing! It was extremely worth it, my aching back, shoulders, knees, feet... It was perfect! I saw them 2 meters away from the B-stage! I think the setlist was the same except for the fact that Chris sang Parachutes before Yellow!! They also threw 2 bras at Will during the C-stage. I'll write more stuff tomorrow. [thanks Arantza]

according to a guy who has gone to the 3 concerts in mexico so far, Guadalajara was better than the two in mexico city, he says the crowd went crazy (yes, even more), and his argument is that it was because they were playing there for the first time ever. [thanks hugo]

Many thanks to the fans without whom there would be no shows! Guy, Jonny & Will are taking a tiny break but Chris will be straight back to work to continue with what they were doing in the studio before this tour started. Tonight Guadalajara will be the penultimate show and then we're off to Monterrey for the very last Viva gig. I'm thinking it will quite emotional to say goodbye to this tour after well over 150 shows since June 2008.

Q. The concert was really awesome! I'm deeply moved for this life experience! Love u guys!!! My question: it was something crazy to see loads of people selling illegally thing about Coldplay, so what do you think about the informal sale outside the concert?

The band saw that last time they were here in Mexico but everyone else was absolutely blown away by the huge Coldplay market as I called it. So many stalls selling bootleg merchandise and there was even one stall totally dedicated to Roadie #42! We all understand the trade of illegal items in such places and it happens for every touring band. There are funny stories of the 'swag'... I saw one t-shirt that had lyrics printed on the front that made no sense whatsoever; last time the tour stopped in Mexico, Bash - drum tech - bought a lighter with a Coldplay sticker on the front. When he peeled it off there was an AC/DC one underneath! Finally, the band's favourite example of inaccurate merch was when there was a t-shirt that said 'Coldplay' on the front but had a picture of Travis!

Q. I knew the night after the concert in Bogota attended a bar called My Little Darling how they felt? Enjoyed the place? Took some Colombian liquor? I charm the concert was an experience never to forget. I am sure I will tell my grandchildren in 40 years that I was on 4 March to the more imposing looking band in my city Bogota, best band, the most dear, the most expected, the most simple and noble, I love them! And come back soon guys at the next opportunity I'm sure we'll be more than 68mil souls Woooahhhohh singing! Thousand blessings, best wishes, good health and prosperity! Thanks for having us! Yes, a few of us (Chris, Will plus Bat For Lashes and some other family & friends) went to that bar after the show in Bogota. We didn't drink any Comombian liquor actually; there were a few mojitos round the table though. Will was most amused (and still is) by the fact that the actual name of the bar is Mai Lirol Darlin aka My Little Darling.

A typical show day will consist of training in the gym, eating breakfast and chilling out before lobby call. Once they get to the venue they will play on the Playstation or table tennis as well as promo work, dinner and a meet & greet before they warm up for the performance. Chris will also pop to watch some of Bat for Lashes when he can.

We weren't in Colombia for too long but the first night we arrived in time for dinner. Some people stayed in and had room service and some went out locally; there were no complaints about the lovely food!The catering at the venue was really tasty too. I have to say the weirdest thing that I tried was in a very small cafe in the centre of the city. A few of us had hot chocolate and it came with cheese on the side. I was the only one who put the cheese into the chocolate, drank it and then used the spoon to eat the cheese! Weird but actually quite nice! The puppets were photographed in a gazebo at the Parque where the concert took place. The backdrop of the mountains with the sun setting was just the perfect photo opportunity.

Home from show. Got to see Marta. She's not working this tour but came because she missed everyone so much. I managed to surprise my BFF Jackie. We were on the rail in front of C stage and when she came out before the band arrival I yell her name and she was glad to see me. Told her I was gonna be at rest of shows. [thanks Texasluvsjonny]

OMG This was the best concert of my life, I was exactly in front of Chris in the 5th row or something, it's like a dream come true, I wished so much for so many years to see my fav band close and finally this night I did it, I couldn't stop screaming and singing, and the crowd was crazy I though I would die in Yellow . I think it was the same setlist than yesterday, hopefully I'll post some pics tomorrow. [thanks Laura42]

Coldplay's Viva La Vida tour continued through Latin America last night, as they played at the Foro Sol, Mexico City, Mexico. Coldplay once again played Shiver during the acoustic set. The new song written specifically for the Latin tour, called Don Quixote/Spanish Rain was played once again.

The good news: Coldplay's back in the studio working on their fifth album with producer Brian Eno, reportedly slated for release by the end of the year. The bad news: The group's record label, EMI Music, may not be around to see its latest recording take flight. That's what The Motley Fool are writing this weekend in a very interesting article on the survival of Coldplay's record label. Read on for the full article...

It's not easy keeping a major record label afloat these days. No one knows better than Guy Hands, who controls private equity firm Terra Firma Capital Partners, EMI's owner. Despite boasting heavy hitters Coldplay and Norah Jones -- not to mention the Beatles catalog -- EMI last month reported a loss of 1.5 billion-pounds, or $2.4 billion, and continues to drown in debt. It's like watching the Titanic go down...

With Warner Music Group wrapping up 2009 with $339 million in cash and debt of a mere $1.94 billion, CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr. appears to have an extra lifeboat. We're just not sure whether he's Leo DiCaprio or Billy Zane. MG reported a 3% increase in revenue for the first quarter of 2010, to $918 million, with a net loss of $17 million, or $0.11 per share. That compares to a year-ago profit of $23 million, but that number was inflated by a one-time infusion when the company sold its stake in Front Line Management.

For EMI, the story is very different. Music industry chatter is buzzing that the label may soon put the legendary Abbey Road Studios -- home to many a Fab Four recording in the late '60s -- on the block. Everyone, including the equally legendary Sir George Martin, is chiming in, but the future of the studio looks pretty bleak to us. And EMI hopes to amputate other limbs as well. he demise of the record label hierarchy is not new. Greed, regulatory mayhem, and technology have all but bludgeoned the old guard. And then there's the little problem of all those music lovers who simply don't see the point of a middleman -- especially a large, monolithic, angry middleman -- squatting between them and their music. None other than American Idol creator Simon Fuller (not to be confused with Simon Cowell) recently exited his own 19 Entertainment and CKX to launch a venture that will more closely connect artists to their fans.

But even among its major-label brethren -- Vivendi-owned Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner -- EMI is particularly waterlogged, with its share of music industry sales teetering at 10%. Toss in a high-profile, ongoing dispute with its lender, Citigroup, and you're singing a pretty bleak tune, indeed. It also doesn't help to have one of your budding acts unceremoniously dissing your tight-fisted policy against video-embedding in public, as EMI rockers OK Go are OK-going about at the moment.

So what would you do, if you were Bronfman? He's reignited the rumor mill by noting that the regulatory climate shouldn't present any obstacles to a possible takeover. Then, during Warner's first-quarter earnings call, he said that consolidation is "certainly possible." He's been dancing around this merger for a few years, but this may be his last shot. If you were Bronfman, would you stay or would you go?

The altitude has certainly affected us all especially in Colombia. Will was saying last night how he feels quite short of breath. We've all noticed being light-headed and almost a wobbly on your feet feeling. We're now in Mexico City so we should start to adjust soon.

The general opinion amongst the touring party is that the crowd in Bogota was the best yet with their manager even saying it was one of the best shows he has ever seen. The atmosphere was amazing with a deafening response to every song; it made the hairs on the back of my arm stand on end (which is a good thing to say by the way). I can also share with you that a couple of people admitted to feeling very emotional with tears welling up because of the atmosphere you all created. Well done Bogota, you gave Rio a run for its money!

A U.S. judge in New York said he will rule by April on whether Terra Firma Capital Partners Ltd.’s suit accusing Citigroup Inc. of tricking it into buying EMI Group Ltd. belongs in London, reports Business Week today. “This is not an obvious slam-dunk decision for either side,” U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff in Manhattan said yesterday at a hearing on Citigroup’s argument that the suit should be dropped because the U.K. has jurisdiction over it. “I have no idea where I’m coming out on any of this yet.”

Terra Firma said Citigroup misrepresented that another private-equity firm, Cerberus Capital Management LP, was bidding on the record company, according to a complaint filed Dec. 11 in New York Supreme Court. The case was later moved to federal court. Rakoff said he will issue a ruling on the location question by the end of this month. Terra Firma sued to recover “lost equity of billions of dollars” and obtain punitive damages from Citigroup, which stood to garner substantial fees as investment adviser and lender to EMI and sole financier to the private-equity firm, according to the complaint. Terra Firma bought EMI in 2007.

When other private-equity firms dropped out of the bidding, Citigroup misrepresented that New York-based Cerberus was actively participating in the auction and that London-based Terra Firma would lose the EMI bid unless it raised its offer, according to the complaint.

Terra Firma said it paid an inflated price for EMI, also based in London, because of Citigroup’s misrepresentation. The private-equity firm paid 4 billion pounds ($6.02 billion). “Had Citi not misrepresented Cerberus’s participation in the bidding process, among other matters, Terra Firma would not have bid for EMI,” the firm said in court papers. The bank also interfered with Terra Firma’s investment by rejecting efforts to restructure EMI and attempting “to soften the markets” for EMI in a bid to take control of the record company by pushing it into insolvency, according to the complaint.

Terra Firma’s purchase of EMI, at the height of the leveraged-buyout boom, gave the firm control of the record label of the Beatles, Coldplay and Norah Jones. EMI last month denied it put its Abbey Road Studios in London, where the Beatles recorded many of their albums, up for sale. Jay Cohen, a lawyer for Citigroup, told Rakoff yesterday that documents in the deal said any dispute should be handled in the U.K. courts. “We have the right to enforce the jurisdiction clause,” said Cohen, a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York. Jonathan Sherman, a lawyer for Terra Firma, said his client isn’t required to sue in London. The deal documents don’t “give us the obligation to sue them in the U.K.,” said Sherman, a partner at Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP in Washington.

While saying he was undecided on the question, Rakoff said it would be unfortunate for the case to be split, with some counts remaining in New York and others adjudicated in London, which may be possible under the law. “It just maximizes the opportunity not only for the parties to be left with uncertainty but, in my experience,” allowing them to “play one court” off the other, the judge said.

Even if Rakoff decides the deal documents allow the case to remain in New York, he could drop it on the ground that New York is an inconvenient forum for Citigroup. A trial is set for Oct. 18, according to Terra Firma’s court papers. Terra Firma said in court papers it also brought the case on behalf of limited partners, more than 100 of which reside in the U.S. One of them, Sungate Securities LLLP, a Colorado limited partnership, filed a separate lawsuit against Citigroup in state court in Florida. Sungate said Citigroup didn’t disclose its conflicts on the deal.

Guy Hands, Terra Firma’s founder and chairman, stepped down as chief executive officer last year after the firm wrote off about half its EMI investment. Last month, the label posted a 1.5 billion pound loss for the year ended March 31, 2009, amid a continued drop in album sales.

Last year, Hands moved to low-tax Guernsey in the Channel Islands from the U.K., where in April the highest marginal tax rate will rise to 50 percent from 40 percent on incomes of more than 150,000 pounds. In court papers, he said moving the Citigroup case to England would threaten his non-resident tax status if he’s required to return to Britain to testify. He said he hasn’t gone back to his native country since leaving.

So sorry we couldn't update.. Neither of our phones were working the show was spectacular. Before the show there was soo much chaos tho. We're currently at McD's and haven't been able to get on a computer but I promise to type in a good review afterwards. More than 32 thousand persons participated in the concert of the British alternative rock band Coldplay in the Simon Bolívar Square of Bogotá the night of March 4. Buenas noches parceros! was the greeting of vocalist Chris Martin, and it was enough to gain the appreciation of their Colombian fans. The Londoners created an alternative rock band in 1997 made by Chris Martin, the lead vocals, keyboards and guitar; Jonny Buckland, the lead guitar; Guy Berryman, the bas guitar and Will Champion, drums, backing vocals and other instruments. They became popular in Colombia with albums like Viva la Vida (Long Life Live) or Death and All His Friends of 2008, a production of Brian Eno. other is LeftRightLeftRightLeft, a collection of their live concerts in already 25 countries. It was the first time that the popular band performs in Colombia and the night was a success either for the British artists or for the big group of fans that follows the lyrics of songs like Viva la Vida when Martin signs I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing, Roman Calvary choirs are singing, Be a mirror, my sword and shield, My missionaries in a foreign field… The visitors were accompanied by the Paisa rock band Estados Alterados that made also a great night of acclamations and the also British Bat For Lashes (her real name is Natasha Khan, 29 years old), who debuted in Colombia with her album Two Suns (2006). Q. Anchorman's report tells of Chris and his dad being the last to leave Chris's birthday party. If I remember correctly, Chris's dad was with him (in Australia?) at his last birthday, with the story going that his Dad way outlasted him. Does Chris's dad travel with the band often or does he only join them around Chris's birthday? Thanks!

Chris and his Dad were the last to leave and last year he did stay up longer than his son. He travels with them for quite a few shows not just around birthday time. He's here for the entire Latin American tour this time. One of Chris's sisters was here too but left for the U.K yesterday. There's been quite an entourage of family and friends on this trip.

Funny you should ask me that because after the Rio show I told Chris that Politik was the best I had ever heard them play it and it's my favourite. He replied that it was in his top two favourite Coldplay songs and you know what? I didn't think to ask what his favourite was! I will endeavour to find out as I suspect it changes from time to time so it may be different today than it was on Sunday!

Within minutes of tweeting, the British Red Cross website was inundated by Coldplay fans wanting to donate to the Chile Earthquake Appeal. This led to a huge spike in traffic to the charity’s website, with a 400 per cent increase in hits in just 15 minutes.

Coldplay are currently touring in Latin America and are performing later this week in Mexico. Their tour hasn’t taken them to Chile but the official site stated that “the band have been extremely saddened by reports of the terrible earthquake which hit the country on 27 February 2010.”

The British Red Cross launched the Chile Earthquake Appeal on 1st March 2010 to support survivors and the work of the Chilean Red Cross. This followed an immediate transfer of £50,000 from the British Red Cross Disaster Fund to the Chile Red Cross. Following on from the initial earthquake measuring 8.8 on the Richter scale, the region has experienced over 120 aftershocks, the largest registering 6.9 on the Richter scale.

The Chilean Red Cross are taking part in search and rescue operations and providing first aid. Aerial assessments are taking place and Chile Red Cross staff and volunteers are broadcasting public service announcements on how to react to aftershocks and are appealing to the public to donate blood.

Q. Dear Oracle, I would really like to know how did Chris Martin feel about more then 60.000 Brazilians wishing and singing happy birthday to him yesterday (03.02.10) in the Sao Paulo concert? I hope he really liked it. I was there, and I sang with all my heart, as I think everybody did. I would really appreciate if you could answer me because me and all the Brazilian fans wanted to make that night very special for him, who spent HIS day making OUR day, and we would like to know if we got to do it somehow...???

Absolutely! You all made a huge impact at the show. It's an amazing feeling to perform to so many people on a birthday. I was stood with Chris' father and the band's publisher who asked "What were you doing 33 years ago?" and his Dad proceeded to tell us all about Chris' very first appearance. Chris had a really great day yesterday and received many gifts; though he tries to keep it all low key there was a party thrown for him after the gig and we all had lots of fun.

Everyone is a little tired after a very long travel day but also excited since arriving in Colombia and seeing the great vibe of the place and its people. Anyway, we have yet to see whether the band play the best concert ever but this time tomorrow we will be about to find out!

The big news from tonight's show was that Parabéns pra você/Happy Birthday was sung acoustically by Will Champion to Chris Martin for his 33rd Birthday. Coldplay once again played Shiver during the acoustic set - a song that has not been played live during a concert since last time they were in South America in 2007 (ironically, the last time it was played was in Brazil!). The new song written specifically for the Latin tour, called Don Quixote/Spanish Rain was played once again. Cemeteries of London and Billie Jean was dropped from the setlist. The rest of the set was identical to the previous show in Buenos Aires.

OXFAM: Morumbi means ‘green hill’. Had it meant ‘Violet Hill’ it would have been perfection. Still, it’s a word of indigenous origin and I love the sound of it: doesn’t it make you think of a crescendo of noise? Appropriate for tonight indeed. Hello you all!! Sorry for coming late, but I'm hell tired!! The last five days are among the best of my entire life for sure!! Thank you Coldplay!!! Sooooo have a lot to tell you about yesterday gig! It all started the day before... I had arrived from Rio and was heading to the hotel in Sao Paulo when I received a phone call... it was a girl from EMI Brazil telling she wanted to take me to a meet ang greet with the band just before the gig! Actually they were looking for someone to go to Rio's M&G, and they've sent me an email when I was in Buenos Aires... I answered it right after BA's concert, but it was too late since they only check emails in week days. So I missed this M&G. When the EMI lady read my email on Monday she talked to her boss and he said it was ok to call me for SP's M&G...

Needless to say that I couldn't sleep that night. Sooo I didn't go to queue (would arrive veeeeeeery early in the morning to be on the pit) cause I'd have to leave to meet the boys and would lose my spot sooo it was pointless to do so. I was joined by another fan who owns a Coldplay community in Orkut, two fans who have won a contest and two girls who had an aunt woking in EMI London and arranged the meeting for them. All others were from the press. Around 15 people. When we entered restricted area I immediately spotted Jackie. I've talked to her in both Buenos Aires and Rio soo she already knew me. When she saw me she said: Are you going, seriously??? And she came to ask how I was there if I was from a radio station or what. I told her about the website and she seemed very happy for me. The EMI Brazil guy was near us and she told him that I was a massive fan and he said that it was great and he was glad that I was there.

We waited and waited and Chris rushed in front of was saying he was coming soon I was all awwwwwwwwww. While waiting I saw Bash and said 'hey bash' he immediatelly came to ask how I knew his name, just as it was described in the roadies thread. Saw Vicky too!! She's so pretty. When the boys came it was much more like a 'look and greet' than a 'meet and greet' we were not allowed to have anything signed or take pictures with our own cameras. The part I particularly loved the most was when they came all together, VIVA dressed, with a smile on their faces... I was all like aaaaaaawww. Then we stayed in line and they came, one by one, to shake our hands! It's incredible how they all can be a lot more prettier when you're face to face. After that we all took a group photo with an official photographer... after the first attempt he kept saying to someone move, the one in red (it was Guy!! ¬¬ come on!! He didn't know his name ¬¬) After that we were supposed to leave because another group of journalists would go in, but I was able to have a small chat with Chris against security orders. I asked him how was the new song called afterall 'cause he'd named it both Don Quijote and Spanish Rain and we were puzzled. He said it'd be called Spanish Rain probably, because they have another new song called Don Quijote. They still don't know what to do with these 2 songs and I was all: Wow 2 songs, that's even better. And by then everyone was already pushing me and saying it was over and so on. It was lovely to see that Chris ignored them and kept answering my question in a calm way. They give a LRLRL copy to each one of us but I missed mine because I was talking to Chrissy. do you think I care??

After that we went back to the concert. As I wouldn't be able to stand on pit with my friends, I decided to stay near the ramp of love with another group of great friends. Was able to record a lot of great material from there. Caught some ACE scenes of Chris laying down, I'm sure you're gonna love it! Caught Jonny's butt as well. Great videos of Shiver and Spanish Rain from the screen. Sao Paulo's gig had a lot of tecnical problems. The major was that the sound was too low. Jonny had lots of problems, not sure but guess he had a broken string in Violet Hill and Matt had to help him several times during the gig. Guess somebody released the butterflies in the wrong hour cause I saw some of them during Politik O.o Chris started playing DAAHF and had to stop it, Hoppy came in and told him something... and then Chris started it again. Apart from that, it was a greeeeeeeeaatt show!! Had so much fun with my friends!! The balloon part was funny and Will's portugues is greaaaaaat!! It was so lovely to hear him singing Happy Bday in portuguese!! When he said 'I'm gonna need your help in this song" I was hey, most people don't know DWNC lyrics, how can Will be asking for help?? And the big surprise came Loveeeeed it!! And hearing Shiver is always a huuuuuge pleasure!!! My favourite CP song of all time!! [thanks Cris_Santos]

Yesterday Chris was saying how amazing it is to see so many fans and if it wasn't for those fans the band wouldn't be doing what they do or be in the wonderful position of travelling to these amazing countries. It is very touching to see so many and their reactions to a brief moment of glimpsing the band off stage. The sheer tears of joy makes even the toughest of us feel quite emotional!

Yeah we were pretty impressed that some fans were singing that even before the first show started which means it could be heard during the soundcheck. We heard the change at the end as in fact that's what's being chanted outside the hotels! I could hear it from my room last night...

First of all, thank you (and by these I mean all Coldplay peolple, crew, band, everyone) so much for the amazing show in Buenos Aires, by far the best concert I've been in. I haven't seen a copy of the lyrics just yet. Lyrics to songs are added to the site's lyric section when released so it's not usual to publish them until that point. What I can tell you is that Don Quixote is now known as its former name Spanish Rain. Given the weather at both shows so far Latin American Rain would have been just as fitting!!

Without Chris Martin and Guy Berryman, Coldplay visited Ronaldo and team-mates at Parque São Jorge, Corinthians team stadium earlier. See the pictures of Coldplay with the team after the jump.

With their own names on the back of their shirts, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion and Phil Harvey talked with Ronaldo, Edu, Pablo Andres and also posed for the photographers. The team president Andrés Sanches was in the stadium for another event and revealed that he didn't know Coldplay were in the country, admitting that he does not know anything about their music. "I'm into samba!" he said.

Corinthians Coach, Menezes, had very little knowledge of Coldplay but he approved the meeting with the players and he even made a comparison between the band's work and football. "We are all trying to find the right notes. I even asked for some of their songs to improve our team game (laughs). I am not into bands, but I see their visit as a good thing for the games, it does not disturbes our work and it widens relations. This is good for the club. Football is a bit harder than music."

Local media said Chris Martin didn't attend as he needed to rest for the group's show Tuesday night. Ronaldo received a team jersey bearing the words "Coldplay" and "Viva la Vida," which was voted song of the year in 2009 - one of seven Grammys the band has won. Ronaldo, a three-time world player of the year, says he will end his career at Corinthians in 2011.

Chris Martin arrived with his daughter Apple at Leblon Sushi restaurant, and then signs autographs before dining on Saturday (February 27) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, reports Just Jared today. See the pictures after the jump.

Chris recently revealed that he hoped to have Coldplay’s fifth album out by Christmas. But don’t expect any tracks to get leaked earlier. "There are only two people in the whole building who know how to open all the recording files. Even we (Coldplay) don’t know how to do it. We couldn’t even steal our own music. You would have to be a computer genius and a great burglar to get into the building, and download it, and mix it," he said in an interview with Globo.com. As for future albums, Chris said, "We signed for a lot [of records], it won’t be the last one. We’re 'owned', we can’t do anything without asking someone’s permission."

Meanwhile, Guy Berryman further spoke on the new album with Brazilian outlet Terra, today. In the interview, Guy said, "We're working on a new album that is more acoustic, organic, without wanting to sound small. We have some limitations in the manner of recording, the equipment we use - for now, we're only using acoustic instruments and very little amplification, which sounds good, but we don't know where it's going. But we have many songs written and we're very pleased with what we've done so far.

On a Christmas 2010 release, Berryman was hopeful. "Well... that's the plan. But you know, we have an incredible ability to disobey the dates planned. But hopefully when we finish this (Viva la Vida) tour, we can return to work and finish as quickly as possible. The only requirement is that is good."

On Brian Eno, Berryman says, "Yes, he (Brian) is not so involved in production, but he's joining us to test new songs, one or two times a week. It's great to have him around - he always brings new ideas and makes us think differently, escpecially with the rhythms that we use. The structures of the songs are very different and he is always willing to try something new. He gets bored very fast, so to keep his interest we have to keep moving with new ideas."

We are all having a great time here! It's shame it's raining in Rio but that didn't dampen spirits at last night's show. It was only the second gig of this tour but it was possibly the best Coldplay concert I have ever seen; an opinion shared by many of our entourage in fact! The crowd were absolutely incredible and it will be interesting to see if they can be matched for the remaining dates. Anyway, to your question... to my shock and amazement (even though I'd heard the guys rehearsing it earlier in the day) Shiver was in the set at Rio. It was amazing so there's more than a chance you'll be hearing that Andres but I wouldn't expect Trouble or Amsterdam. Someone asked Chris by the pool if they'd play Amsterdam in Buenos Aires - a popular request it seems.

Q. Hi! As you most likely know, there was a massive earthquake off of Chile on Friday. I was just wondering if this has affected the band or the tour. Thanks!

We were all sad and shocked to awake to news of the earthquake whilst in Buenos Aires. Geographically we were far enough away that it didn't directly affect us but it did mean that there was no soundcheck at last night's Rio show as much of the equipment was being flown in from Chile and due to the airport being closed it couldn't get to us on time.

Coldplay's Viva La Vida tour continued through Latin America, as they played at the Apoteose Stadium, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The big news from tonight's show was that they played Shiver during the acoustic set - a song that has not been played live during a concert since last time they were in South America in 2007 (ironically, the last time it was played was in Brazil!). Cemeteries of London and Billie Jean was dropped from the setlist. The rest of the set was identical to the previous show in Buenos Aires. The new song written specifically for the Latin tour, called Don Quixote was played once again.

hey ! i just came back from their gig at rio de janeiro...it was just amazing , no words to describe and it was such a magical surprise that they played Shiver..i wasn't expecting that at all....juat AMAZING ! [thanks Julia*]

The concert was absolutely BRILLIANT. So much energy from the guys! The setlist was almost the same from Argentina, but there were a few changes: like it's been already said, they played shiver in billy jean's place. The crowd started screaming "shiver, shiver, shiver" before they went to stage c and when they arrived there what a SURPRISE!!! They didn't play cemeteries of London; they named "Don Quixote" of "Spanish rain" tonight. The concert started at 8:20pm and ended up around 10:30pm. Chris had this paper on the piano written some portuguese stuff so that he could try to talk to us. So cute! [thanks Li_cold]

OXFAM: Hello from Rio de Janeiro. Coldplay are just about to play tonight in the famous sambodromo Apoteose and Oxfam is here, as the band have asked us again if we wanted to come along. This time it’s me, Giulia, trying to make the most of this opportunity for Oxfam to be heard and to involve as many fans as possible. And I will be reporting for you on the fabulous life of the ‘Oxfam Rep’ on tour. The tour started last Friday in Buenos Aires, with about 50,000 people in the River Plate stadium singing along to their songs. I was there, free from Oxfam duty for the first concert and suddenly recruited for helping out with firing butterfly-shaped confetti during Lovers in Japan: an exciting task that is likely to continue for the rest of the tour. So that’s just one of the magic moments of the show, and the Argentinian fans replied with an amazing blue ola made of cell phones (that’s how it goes these days, no more old-style lighters). The show was AAAAACCCCCEEEEEEEE!!! Boys were amazing and the crowd was fantastic!!!!!! And we are getting spoiled with SHIVERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! Tears on my face ^^. Met Chris at the hotel after the show!!!!!!! He was sooooooooooo lovely!!!!! Signed my flag and took a picture with me (it's in my friends camera will have it by night). Also met Debs!! She was sooooooooooo lovely!!!!!!!!!! Said it's been the best CP gig ever As everyone around she also loved they played Shiver. Talked to Jackie twice in front row!! and yeahhh front row is superb!!!
