Coldplay to Return to Studio With Naturally 7

Chris Martin was so blown away when he saw Naturally 7 perform earlier this month that he invited them to join Coldplay in the studio the very next day.

The unusual US band - who combine singing with rap, which they call "Vocal Play" - were delighted when Coldplay's Chris turned up to their gig at London's Le Pigalle club last month, along with producer Brian Eno and Natalie Imbruglia. Chris went backstage afterwards to meet the band and invited them into the studio with the rest of Coldplay the following day. The two bands spent around four hours working on a few ideas and may meet again to work on some tracks.

Roger N'glish Thomas, baritone and rapper for the group, said: "I didn't quite believe that Chris Martin, Brian Eno, and Natalie Imbruglia had come out to see us perform the night before. But I chose to believe it because my eyes were seeing it. And then we had the opportunity to meet the whole band the next day.

"I told Chris when he extended the invitation to us, 'There is no other place I'd rather be than hanging out with Coldplay.'

"The visit was somewhat surreal, which is to be expected when you're talking to musicians you have the highest respect for. We asked a lot of questions about their last album, recording and touring and they asked us a lot of questions about the concept of Vocal Play and our album Wall Of Sound.

"The night was short, but sweet. And I look forward to whatever happens next!"

War Child Preview: Elton John Spends £30,000 to Watch Coldplay

Elton John is well-known for his extravagant style – and the bespectacled singer is now planning to fork out £30,000 to book most of the front three rows at next week’s War Child concert.

The joint performance by The Killers and Coldplay is set to be a night to remember and Elton – not short of a bob or two – wants to share the moment with pals and family. The two legendary bands come together on Wednesday for the charity event at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, and will follow the Brits at Earls Court earlier that evening. Front row, first-floor VIP tickets to the concert are selling for £1,000 each – for punters with a little less cash other seats are between £50 and £100. A source told theBuzz: “Elton has requested most of the front three rows on Level One, 30 seats in total, which will cost £30,000. It’s a lot of tickets for one person, so the venue is checking to see if they can accommodate him.”

Coldplay Makes Brits 'Best British Single' Shortlist! Keep Voting To Win!

Coldplay Live Review - Saitama Super Arena, Tokyo (12th February 2009)

Coldplay played the second night of the 2009 Viva La Vida tour only tour days after the successful Grammy Awards. They were at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo on the second of two consecutive nights. The setlist remained largely the same as it was at the end of the 2008 tour... however they added 'I'm A Believer' which they recently played live at the MusiCares Gala honouring Neil Diamond.

Friday 13th may be unlucky for some, but for one lucky person they will get their hands on two tickets to see Coldplay's exclusive gig with The Killers in aid of War Child.

To launch the O2 Academies, O2 is supporting the gig at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 18th February. Over 200,000 fans tried to get tickets to the bands’ intimate, joint-headline show and the event will see lucky fans flying in to the show from Tokyo in Japan, Connecticut in USA and countries all across Europe to be among the 2,000 people to witness the once-in-a-lifetime concert.

The night celebrates War Child’s 15th Anniversary and the release of their new album ‘Heroes’ (released on Feb 16 on EMI’s Parlophone label). More Ticket Presales Today For Coldplay's North American Tour 2009

Coldplay last week announced details of a huge tour of North America, which will begin in Portland, Oregon on July 10th and will conclude on 9th August in Tampa, Florida. General tickets for all shows will go on sale either on February 13/14th in some states and February 21st in others (specific details are below). The presale continues today via Live Nation for seven more of the shows, namely Portland, George, San Francisco, Dallas, Maryland Heights, East Troy and Mansfield. Additionally, general ticket sales will begin for those shows in San Diego, Raleigh and Charlotte.

Live Nation Debuts Ticket System For Coldplay

While the proposed merger of Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc. and concert promoter Live Nation Inc. hasn't yet affected how the public will buy tickets, Live Nation has announced a new ticketing system that will replace Ticketmaster for Verizon Wireless Amphitheater concerts.

Tickets to the July 24 Coldplay concert at Verizon go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, and with that comes the first run of the new system. Ticketmaster can still be used for other venues, including Scottrade Center and the Pageant.

— livenation.com: It's the only site authorized to sell tickets for Verizon.

— Verizon Wireless Amphitheater box office: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. There is no service charge at the box office during the first week of sales.

Abu Dhabi: Coldplay Set For '£1.4m' Arabian Night

Coldplay are set for one of the biggest paydays of their career after been lured to play in the luxurious surroundings of a plush hotel in the United Arab Emirates.

The band are tipped to bank at least £1.4million for the gig at the Emirates Palace with all 15,000 tickets set to sell out immediately. Coldplay will play against a back drop of a private beach almost a mile long on the final stop of their world tour.

The band are the latest superstars to grace the venue with Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Christina Aguilera and Elton John all cashing in, in the past. Promoter Elissa Murtaza said: 'Coldplay's debut performance in the Middle East is set to attract one of the biggest attendances in the UAE.'

Coldplay were recently nominated for four Brit awards - Best Album, Best Group, Best British Single and Best Live act - and for the British Single category voting has re-opened for new voting each day until 13th February. Please make your vote count for Coldplay in round SIX (the final public round) at the Brit Awards website here

On each day from Monday 9 February 2009 to Friday 13 February 2009, you can still vote to save your favourite single but during this period one single will be eliminated from the list each day until there are 5 remaining singles, which will then be entered into Round Seven. You may vote once in each of rounds one to six (any additional votes you make after your first vote in each of rounds one to six will be discounted).
