Coldplay fans will be excited to hear they can bid for the chance to meet the band.

Fans can bid to win two VIP tickets to see the band perform at London's 02 Arena, followed by a meet and greet, at charity auction website buyoncegivetwice.com. The auction closes on November 26.

The auction is to raise money for children's charity Rays Of Sunshine, which grants wishes for terminally and seriously ill children in the UK. Also up for sale in the auction are two VIP tickets to see the Kaiser Chiefs at Wembley Arena followed by a meet and greet with the band.

Music lovers can bid for a Fender guitar signed by Sting, the chance to have lunch or dinner with Craig David at his Hampstead home, four VIP tickets plus flights, and accommodation, to the 2009 Europe Music Awards in Berlin or six VIP tickets to see Madness and meet the band backstage.

Mia Woodford, founder of the site, said: "The Rays Of Sunshine Virtually Brilliant Auction contains some of the best lots we have ever seen. Coldplay's brand new Prospekt's March EP is released today in many countries across the globe. The EP features six new songs, plus two reworked versions of old ones (the Lovers In Japan Osaka mix and Lost+). The EP is available on CD, vinyl and download. Talked to Angie on the phone...someone threw a beer and it actually spilled all over the computers of the roadies who are in charge of the backdrops and magic balls. Angie said it made a huge mess that they had to clean up. NME has removed (blank page) their news article that rumoured Coldplay were to split in 2009-10. Earlier today, NME had a post up about Chris Martin discussing a possible Coldplay split in the next couple of years, but the post was since taken down, which leads Coldplaying to believe that someone swooped in to quell those rumours.

Of course, once the rumour hits the web, it's very hard to take it off, and a quick Google News search reveals plenty of quotations on the prospect of a Coldplay breakup from Chris Martin.

Let's be clear: this is nothing but pure rumour - Coldplay is not breaking up anytime soon, and we don't know if Chris Martin is telling the truth about the long term. We're not quite sure if he's ever telling the truth - as we found out after the Brit Awards 2005 - Coldplay don't 'just split up'. But Coldplay fans shouldn't be scouring the web for farewell tour tickets just yet.

The release dates of both the Prospekt's March EP and the special version of the album containing the EP's eight tracks, which will be called Viva La Vida Prospekt’s March Edition, have been pushed back a few days to accommodate early worldwide releases. The dates are as follows (the EP and the album are released on the same day in each country)...

I had a BRILLIANT time tonight, and I had a GREAT time volunteering with Oxfam! Got to meet some amazing people to volunteer with, and had some okay (honest not great seats, but still LOVED the show). If you saw people with Oxfam, I was one of them! Chris Martin is planning to retire next year. The Coldplay frontman doesn't want to become an aging rock star and is keen to quit music before he feels too old, AHN and ContactMusic are reporting today.

He said: "I'm 31 now and I don't think bands should keep going past 33. So we're trying to pack in as much as possible. Up until the end of next year, we'll just go for it in every sense. I don't believe in time off. We've still got our own hair, we can still fit into our musical trousers and we've got to make the most of that."

The "Clocks" singer - whose last album 'Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends' topped the album charts in 36 countries - claim his band have only had such a successful year because their rivals have taken a break. He added: "The reason we're the biggest band in the world at the moment is because the others are on holiday. That's how you get your breaks. That's how the understudy gets his opportunity. While U2 and Green Day are away, we've gotten to make the most of it."

Coldplay tape their live appearance singing the remix version of 'Lost' featuring Jay-Z and release it as a music video for the remix.

Coldplay have brought out a music video in support of "Lost+", the remix version of "Lost" which features Jay-Z. The video was shot at one of their live concerts. It shows the concert highlights including audience's high spirit. While "Lost" appears on Coldplay's fourth studio LP "Viva La Vida", "Lost+" is confirmed to be listed on their fifth mini album "Prospekts March [EP]". The EP is slated for release across U.S. on November 25 under Parlophone Records.

Stressing that the songs in the EP are not throwaway tracks, bassist Guy Berryman said, "We didn't want to make the album too long. We thought the third record was too long, and we didn't want to make that mistake again. But these songs were too good just to be B-sides on singles. It's kind of meant to be an amendment to 'Vida La Vida'. We wanted people to hear that record as a standalone first, and not bombard them. We're really proud of it."

The mystery surrounding a possible Coldplay gig at Knebworth House deepens. This week the band's frontman Chris Martin announced on their website the 2009 gig would not happen.

He said: "Well, we tried to get Knebworth but it just wasn't possible. So we're having to think of something else. In fact, I think we have thought of something else. Hopefully we'll be able to announce it soon. And hopefully it's not the same day that Oasis have booked it."

But speaking to the WHT Times 24 today (Tuesday), Knebworth's managing director Martha Lytton Cobbold said she was impressed with the buzz Coldplay's potential gig had created. She said: "The enquiry is still live as far as I'm concerned. We sent out potential dates and fees and so it's still with the band. It would be really nice if their fans and the band's desire to play here could be realised.

It's not shop bought that way so all you have to do is find a similar off white tee, then customize it with spray paint that's suitable for material (and permanent so that you can wash the garment). I know I promised a review the minute I got home, but my head is killing me, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow! I only just got in, the concert was by far the most amazing show I've ever been to. I was really far back, like two rows away from the very back of the floor, but I was on the end of my row and the boys ran RIGHT past me and up the stairs directly next to me for their acoustic set, I was just a few steps away basically, so I've got an incredible video of The Scientist for you all tomorrow [thanks ZapShazam]

I just got back home and it was such an amazing show. the fans were terrific and the band deffinetly noticed. im like 99 percent sure they didnt play Yes but they did play hardest part so that was cool. Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay has revealed that their proposed mammoth Knebworth show will not be happening.

The singer had spoken of the band's plans to hold a one-off gig in the grounds of Knebworth House in Hertfordshire on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show, as reported here.

However on the coldplay.com website Martin has said, "Well, we tried to get Knebworth but it just wasn't possible. So we're having to think of something else. In fact, I think we have thought of something else. Hopefully we'll be able to announce it soon. And hopefully it's not the same day that Oasis have booked it."

Martin drops further hints adding, "Our touring plans are very much like Christmas presents that are wrapped, but you can basically see what they are. If you look carefully you can see the shape. And you can probably guess, 'Oh this feels like a stadium'."

So it looks as though a forthcoming stadium tour by the band is definitely on the cards for next year. Oasis' stadium gigs include Heaton Park in Manchester, Sunderland Stadium of Light, Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh and Wembley Stadium.

holy hell that show was fantastic...i was in section 221, the nose bleeds on the top row, as i was going to quicktrip with some friends a guy stopped and asked me "what was coldplay's first album" easy enough, i answered parachutes and he moved me and my 5 friends to the second row on the floor. we went from being unable to see the stage to having chris martin sweat on us. unbelievable night [thanks tyson]

Just got back and it was awesome. Can't recall the entire set list, but it seems to more or less mirror the ones from the previous dates in other cities. They did play a song early on (I don't recall the name) and Chris said something to the effect of "First time in America for that one." Coolest part was that my wife and I were literally 5 feet from the little stage they set up out in the audience ("The Scientist" performance). Wooooooo!!!! And I got a high-5 from Chris as he ran back to the big stage. Got some cool pics on my cell phone camera. Mostly of the backs of their heads, but some profile pictures. Now, if I can just figure out how to get them from my camera to a computer.....

Q. Alright Oracle, Ive asked this before, and im asking it again. Does Coldplay get hold of items thrown onstage by fans (teddybears etc) that arent directly caught by one of the band members? Or if theyre taken away by those men in black that come and take all the excess clothes and propps that are on stage, do they get them then? Lots of love!

Yes they do. The letters make their way back to the UK and then are passed on to the letter reader. The presents are usually donated to a children's hospital or charity but there's not many of those.

Q. Dear Oracle, I would like to have an advice because I don't know If I am overreacting and being immature so here I go. See oracle not long ago we were in our classes at school and one of my classmates was having trouble finding a program to get funds and advocate for. She was very concerned because this assignment was huge and we would be marked on that, so our professor told us to stay after class and give feedback so we could help each other (Only three students stayed). So you know Oracle this classmate and I used to be very good friends but unfortunately I decided to walk away from her as she had been extremely mean to me in the past. Eventhough she had been mean and hypocrite I stayed and helped her (she got feedback from the student too). I told her she should come up with an ESL program for doctors who were immigrants (ESL: English as a second language). I even told her the values she should use for and explained to her how this program would be a perfect match for the agency she had already picked. She actually presented it to the class and everybody was stunned because believe me Oracle the shortage of doctors in Canada is a huge issue! So that project was a perfect pick. I knew from the beginning that the idea I shared with her would not be mine anymore, but what really bothered me was the fact that she didn't acknowledge that that idea was mine and that I had help her even though our friendship had been broken. She did not even approach me to say thanks. I know for a fact she should not have helped me if it were the other way around but see oracle sometimes I am too silly. I am disappointed. So am I being too immature??? Why am I feeling this way?? I know she is enjoying this man I know! Thanks

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your very good idea. I understand your disappointment however; ask yourself why you helped your friend. Was it to gain a pat on the back or to help them out? If we help people only to receive praise and thanks we are doing it for the wrong reason. I don't think that was your intention but by being ignored you feel aggrieved. You can either make light of it and jokingly tell your friend that she didn't acknowledge you. Or you can sit her down and tell her how you feel. Or you can simply be the bigger person and think that you did a good thing for a friend regardless of who knows it. Maybe one day she will surprise you. Sadly in life people often disappoint. If you continue to do things for others, don't expect anything back, that way you won't ever need to feel disappointment again.

Eagle-eyed Coldplayer sharp-boy has been doing some digging for possible dates for Coldplay's mega-concert at Knebworth. On the Knebworth House website there are two dates in July (4th and 5th July 2009) where the house is closed on the first day and the House, Gardens & Park closed on the second day. Could these be the days set aside for Coldplay?

In a Radio 1 exclusive back in mid-October, Chris Martin announced that Coldplay are looking to book at least two nights at the famous Knebworth venue. The band’s management have been making enquiries and need permission to play the legendary castle, which has been host to the likes of Robbie Williams and Oasis.

It was sososososo amazing! and when they did the acoustic set in the audience I rushed down to the end of the row (I was above them) during Lost! everyone was like what are you doing? then they figured it out and TONS of people were around me, I got awesome close ups of them! SO AMAZING! I love Coldplay so much! Chris gave away 2 of his harmonicas! grr! I have to go, but I'll do a better review later and will have pics & vids! [greeneyes1207]

Q. I bought tickets from a site www.coldplaylivetickets.com and it seems like a complete scam. They do not want to give us any proof and they are still the only ones who have places available for every concert in London between the 13th December and the 15th. This is very strange to me. Do you think you can look into this please? regards

The Oracle replies:

Having looked at that link you gave me I find within their terms & conditions that it does clearly state that they are totally independent. Any unofficial outlet or ticket agency can be a risk for the buyer but please bear in mind that even the officially endorsed companies sometimes only post tickets out 2 weeks before a show. I advise you to check your credit card bill (or record of payment), as it will show there, possibly with a reference code. If you have paid for the tickets you will hopefully receive them. Most companies do email a confirmation of purchase to you do check that again.

Unfortunately they may be advertising tickets they do not have and are hoping for a 3rd party to provide them, this is also common but you'll be paying well over the odds from these places so it's probably best to avoid them. The more they are used the longer they will remain in business. A lot of people are buying their tickets this way and are complaining of high priced tickets. I don't think they realize that these agents are ripping everyone off and we are not involved in any way. We always provide a link to buy tickets and we don't recommend any others.

Q. Oracle-My husband and I are both 28. We live in Brooklyn and life is expensive, and we both work full-time. I am ready to have children. Like, NOW. It seems crazy with our current situation (how can we pay for a baby???), but I can't help how I feel. I don't know that my husband is as ready as I am. How do you know when the time is right? Is it true that you CAN'T plan such things? Since you don't have children, maybe you can offer some wisdom from those who do...I would appreciate an unbiased, objective opinion!

Naive as my answer may seem, I think this is simple. The time is right when you both want to start a family for the right reasons. You're still young but if you feel money is the main reason for waiting let me say this. For centuries people have been having babies planned or otherwise with and without ample funding set aside. Yes the blighters are expensive but you will find a way. If you are prepared for a lot of sacrifice you will afford your baby the essential necessities. Friends & families are great at times like this. There are thrift stores/charity shops that have clothes in perfect condition. I mean they grow so fast what's the point in spending a fortune on new?! Nappies (diapers) are very costly, so switch to the towel ones of yesteryear and you'll save a fortune, though your laundry bill may be higher. Look, things aren't going to get any cheaper in the future so money may be a reason that you're turning into an excuse. I know people with children who are single, married, wealthy, poor, young and older and not one of them regrets it and all are happy to be parents. Yes their lives changed but isn't that supposed to happen? Your main concern is to make sure the timing is right for you BOTH and the rest will follow. Good luck!

Q. Dear Oracle, you stated in a previous question that a line of Cemeteries of London was "where Victorian ghosts pray", but when I bought the score it said it was "where the toiling ghosts strain". which is it!?

You have to trust the Oracle or what's the point me answering any questions? After the first round of la la las the lyrics are "where Victorian ghosts pray". Apart from the fact I have just listened to it, this is also according to the official Tour Programme and lyrics on file. Q. The tick box isn't tickety boo! this is about the lost? video contest. It says tick the box if you agree to the conditions... well there isn't box (laughs)Where is this box? Secondly, does the competition need personal consent forms for people in your videos and location consent form? I'd like to know before I film anyone. Yeah that's my question.

Ha yes, the missing tick box. If you read the t&c's and agree to them, make a mental tick in your head, that should do the trick. It would be polite to ask people's permission if you're filming the general public but you won't need consent forms. Just be mindful of who and what you are putting in from a copyright aspect. You should be fine though, if you want to keep a list of the names for your own records but it's not necessary for our comp.

Q. I saw Coldplay last night in Sunrise, Florida. It was a most incredible show, and I have seen most of the greats in my time. My question: they used a lot of multimedia there, including ball-like objects suspended from the ceiling upon which video was displayed. Are these devices something that Coldplay brings around with them, or do they belong to the arena?

Everything you see from the lights, the screens, the balls... in fact any visual, is all transported from show to show for the band by their crew. They have to set it up and take it down in each new venue, a time consuming task.

Q. Dear Oracle, I hope you can help me with this. I always wear glasses, but they tend to get bent and uneven when I have sports in school. I can't see much without them, so I can't just take them off. It is almost inevitably that they get uneven (especially as I am a fool with a ball) and going to the optician is not the greatest pleasure, and some day they might get completely broken. Should I get contact lenses? At least for sports, do you think? My eye doctor and I thinks it's a good idea. My mother does not. Thank you.

I would think my safest option rather than incur the wrath of your Mum is to suggest that you tackle this from a safety point of view. If you're playing a lot of sports the chances of your glasses being broken are higher and therefore you may run the risk of a minor injury. That said you run a greater risk of injury if you don't wear them. I wonder if a spare pair may be an idea for now, if you can find a reasonably priced pair set aside for sporting activity that is. I know they're your eyes but being of school age, Mum will probably make the decision in the immediate future.

Coldplay was crowned the world's top-selling act of 2008 at the World Music Awards (WMAs) in Monaco, report Reuters.

Their latest album "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends," released mid-year, topped charts in the United States, Britain, Japan, Germany, France and elsewhere. Sales apparently benefited from Coldplay's marketing strategy, including giving away the first single free over the Internet for a week and staging a series of free concerts before embarking on an international tour.

The band was also named the WMA's rock act of the year at an awards ceremony, although they were not there to accept it. Beyonce and Kid Rock were among the performers on the night. The annual awards honor artists based on worldwide sales figures provided by IFPI, a London-based body representing the recording industry.

U.S. record executive L.A. Reid also received a prize for outstanding contribution to the music industry.
