Some of us don't have money to donate or time to volunteer. That's why Stanford University has made it easy for everyone to help find cures for diseases simply by installing a small application on their home pc/mac that analyzes protein molecules and then sends back the results to Stanford.

It's called Folding@home and more than 50,000 teams (600,000 users) have joined to help. Join Isara's Folding@home Team to work together to find cures for diseases.

All you need to do is download a small file (it's completely safe) and install it (takes one minute). The application runs in the background, while you're working or sleeping (as long as your computer is on, you're helping).

For more information click here [Thanks Isara]

[Favourite Albums Of All-Time Poll] THREE DAYS LEFT TO VOTE!

Making Coldplaying.com / Coldplaying Charity Club shirts is an idea that has been talked about for eons, and now thanks to the members of Coldplaying.com, it is finally coming to fruition. You can get involved by submitting a design that could eventually be worn by Coldplay fans all around the world.

Several design optimization suggestions that should be followed for best printing results are:

- 2000 x 2000 pixels

- 100 - 300 dpi (200 is suggested for quality and upload efficiency)

- RGB color mode

- Any white in your image will show as the color of the fabric

- Accepted file types:

PNG - Portable Network Graphics format is our recommendation for image uploads. It is a completely loss-less compression and gradients come out much smoother than JPG imges. (Max size 4MB)

JPG - JPG's support over 16 million colors, but slightly "distort" the image to compress the file size. For photos, the human eye cannot tell the subtle changes in color, but along straight edges and in pictures with large solid colors, distortion becomes very apparent. (Max size 7MB)

For more information on this project and how to submit your design in accordance with the requirements, click here [thanks lunar1126].
A major part of the upgrading work that has been carried out over the last few weeks was to enable us to create the first independent Coldplay site powered by Wiki.

WikiColdplay uses the Coldplaying vBulletin messageboard as a base and has integrated into the pages. All you need to do to add/edit/remove content from ColdplayWiki is simply log into your messageboard account as normal.

The links you need to bookmark are the following:

http://www.wikicoldplay.com

http://wiki.coldplaying.com

[Favourite Albums Of All-Time Poll] VOTE NOW!

The $1.36 campaign aims to testify that small actions can lead to big differences. All funds raised through this campaign will go to the Sponsor A Child program through which we will be in direct communication with an impoverished child who needs our help. Each month a minimum of $28.00 USD (click here for a currency converter) will need to be raised to support Zali, as well as Zali's community. We believe we can achieve and surpass this goal.

Money will go to "programs that focus on early childhood development, health and nutrition, as well as primary education. You can feel confident that Save the Children will spend your contributions wisely. In fiscal year 2005, Save the Children spent 91 percent of all expenditures on program services (source: savethechildren.com)."

You could be the difference.
