'Spraycan Soul' on the Coldplaying forums is piecing together a map of Coldplay fans across the world! This should give us a picture (literally!) of how diverse Coldplay's fanbase is. It's a lovely little project, in which your help is needed. Simply post where you are from and your favourite Coldplay song.

Every Coldplayer is represented by a 'map tack'. The project has been going on for around a month and the first map update from 'Spraycan Soul' oversees USA, Canada and Mexico:

Hello everyone!

There are some upcoming events/features on Coldplaying.com which we are very excited about. At the moment, news is quiet on the Coldplay front and until Coldplay's next album, A Head Full Of Dreams unravels itself, there won't be much to post about on the new events side but when there is reliable info, we'll keep you informed :) I will be resuming the Ghost Stories review series again, which was delayed because of other (time consuming) Coldplaying projects. June and July's will be posted soon and once the rest of 2014's Ghost Stories era is reviewed, it will be available to access easily via the main menu, so you can look back at those memories from the past year!

First exciting bit of info is the new Coldplaying mobile app! It's free, simple, very fast and easy to use :) You'll be able to easily access the latest Coldplay news, posted by our team and thousands of other Coldplayers 24/7, chat to other fans going to the same Coldplay concert as you (when the next tour happens) and download live/rare songs easily. It's linked in with the forums and the main site so you won't miss a thing. Those of you who already browse our forums with Tapatalk will spot the similarities once it's launched. More will be revealed when Version 1 on the Coldplaying app is released!

When will the app be released exactly? The first version is all ready to go on my side, it's just the uploading and preparation stage. Apple's approval process before uploading an app is very strict, so I would say a timescale of a few weeks for the app but I do hope it will be ready very soon. The Coldplaying app will also be available on Android (Google Play) :)

The team have been working on getting some very interesting features for Coldplaying over the past weeks and you'll see those within the next week or two and we're keeping them secretive until they are posted so lots and lots to look forward to! For most of you, who follow us on Facebook and Twitter, you may have noticed the 'On This Day' posts. I'll continue to post those as an exclusive on our social pages, using our archive of Coldplay history for the past 15 years :D This month, the latter part of it has been more eventful for Coldplay in the past and there are some very interesting and forgotten about news to show you!

We have a new design for our forums, which has been unveiled today! As we move away from the Ghost Stories era and move closer to the A Head Full Of Dreams section of Coldplay's story, we envisage a year of celebration, moving forward from the darkness, into the light.

2014 has now come to a close. We've had the pleasure of listening to a new Coldplay album, with an additional single release for Miracles, alike to Atlas in 2013, with both songs featuring on film soundtracks.

Unlike 2013, there's a lot of competition, with four songs receiving over 10% of the vote : Always In My Head, True Love, A Sky Full Of Stars and Miracles. The poll was made using Google Surveys and has been posted on various fanpages recently. Our forum poll results so far are quite different, with songs such as Midnight receiving a higher % of the vote and A Sky Full Of Stars having a lower share.

The Coldplaying Awards return for 2014 and you have a chance to vote for fellow Coldplayers in a huge range of categories (42 awards to be exact)! The voting will run immediately until Wednesday 10th December and the awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 15th December.

Its that time of year again! Secret Santa is back and you can start getting in the Christmas mood with our community of Coldplayers. Firstly, i'm sure most of us gladly listen to it in the middle of June anyway but since we're on the subject of Christmas...

Now its time to take your feet, not to Oxford Street but to 'the lounge' on the Coldplaying messageboards for the 2014 Secret Santa. By placing your name down, you will also receive a Christmas gift of a contributor point towards our October challenge (which will be announced soon). If you haven't seen it already, its a monthly contest we run on the forums where prizes can be won such as a Twitter takeover, a deluxe version of 'Ghost Stories' and 'Ghost Stories' badges! For September, you can earn points for posting Coldplay photographs across the forums.

The super fun Coldplay Horoscope app is available to download exclusively on the Google Play store and displays your horoscope with your Coldplay song of the day! Developer, Rafael Bautista has updated the app to version 2 with various bug fixes and small improvements. The app is completely free to download.

Welcome back everyone! We have had over 2 days of downtime, mainly on the forums. This was initially due to a lag issue where a process in the database placed a huge load on the servers and while the forums and partially the main sites were offline, I decided to update much of the back end of Coldplaying with the help of our veteran (:P) technical admin, Stephen/tifosi who did a fantastic job. It was a major update that caused a lot of downtime but its one for the future server performance and better to get it out of the way with a few shows on the horizon!

Only a username, email address and password is required for a mobile sign up!

With the Ghost Stories era picking up momentum, the forums have been given a makeover, with a new dark and very blue style inspired by Ghost Stories and trying to capture the feel and atmosphere of the spectacular new era.

I would like to introduce myself officially as the new owner of Coldplaying.com! A few days ago a message was posted outlining the goals and intentions for this great community by myself :

Thank you for all of your support so far and especially from our moderating team and Ian, Stephen & co!

Now to introduce myself, my name is Marc, I am 24 years old from Birmingham, UK. and my username/forum name is Sparky, previously 42rock89 from 2008 up to now. Before that from 2005, I was Sparky17 on the official Coldplay forums when they existed! and with same username on Coldplaying up to 2008. At the time, I was a very frequent poster and with quite a few strong views at the time such as I wasn't the biggest fan of Radiohead! I had a lot of fun on those forum's with loads of ups and downs including a few mods who didn't take a liking to me and even posted pictures of my head on a giant robot (It wasn't the robot from the Talk video!) my memory is fuzzy in terms of names, I do remember one of the mods were called PhantomoftheOpera/Sean (Hi!) and there were many great friends I made too including a person called Scruff who had an avatar of a teddy bear! I then eventually made the full switch to Coldplaying and haven't looked back since. Has always been a great and close community and the hype of each album comes with the best memories and I am looking forward to the Ghost Stories release even more so if you are reading this and haven't joined our forums, it really is the best time to do so now!

My journey as a Coldplay fan started mainly from 2005. I was always a fan of the band, always like every song but they started becoming a strong interest then obsession when the X&Y era started with firstly watching the Speed of Sound video every time it came on MTV then over and over. I then remember watching Glastonbury and other videos such as the Live Leak on MTV and from then I was hooked! So I decided to go into Woolworth's (as the British fans here will know of) and buy my first Coldplay album, X&Y. A few days later and playing X&Y on repeat constantly, I bought Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head which was mind blowing listening to all three as new albums! I only saw them live at the end of 2011 as during the previous X&Y and Viva tours, I did not have enough money to see them being a mixture of either a college student or unemployed! I saw them three times during the Mylo Xyloto tour and they were the best experiences ever including Charlie Brown with the glowing wristbands, the return of What If and the new mix of Daylight and at the Coventry gig at Ricoh Stadium, those who went will remember the dancing granny in the stands and the face of Robyn (the support act) when everyone was cheering for her which absolutely priceless. So, that is only part of the journey so far and I have no doubt there are even better times to come and I am looking forward to sharing them all with every other fan! After nearly 14 years at the helm it is time for an ending. And hopefully a new beginning and another chapter.

Time inevitably marches forward and lives change. It has got to the point where we are not able to put in the time and effort the site(s) deserve particularly when there will inevitably be an increase in traffic & interest as the new album and tour are announced.

It's been fun - in an obsessive compulsive sort of way - but now other concerns - family, work, life must take priority.

The community sites are being prepared for sale. I will update the post with further details when available.

Hopefully we'll still be around, initially to hand over, and then as just curious observers from a distance.

A bit of background to the festival: the Heineken Jammin' Festival is a large live rock festival in Venice, Italy featuring international and Italian rock acts. It started in mid-June 1998 at the Imola Autodrome and has attracted attendances of more than 100,000 over the course of the three day event. For the tenth anniversary of the festival in 2007, the location changed to Mestre, Parco San Giuliano. This year, headlining acts will be Coldplay, Negramaro, Vasco Rossi, Noemi, Beady Eye, Cesare Cremonini, The Pretty Reckless and others. Here are the latest Coldplay blog updates...

10.43pm: Right, the band are now playing their penultimate song - so one more and then we're doing a "runner" to the airport. And we're still sitting in an office a good five minutes from where the cars will be. So we're better run for the runner. We'll leave you with this picture. Hmm. Tough one. Lost was the one that sprung to mind first, for some reason. Great memories of that one from Wembley Stadium with Mr Z. Arlene, from management, who's sitting opposite us right now says The Scientist or the new version of God Put A Smile Upon His Face.

8.34pm: Moving on from that moment of considerable excitement... long-term photoblog fans will know that we always try to give a photographic shout out to the wonderful Coldplay fan site Coldplaying.com. And so when we saw Coldplay's legendary soundman Dan Green just now, we thought we'd seize the moment. Problem was, we couldn't find any paper to write the message on. So, um we had to rip a bit off the band's setlist in the dressing room. (Shhh, our secret, right?)

And hello from the rest of us too. Thanks for all the support guys.

8.25pm: WE CAN HEAR THE CROWD SINGING THE VIVA CHANT...

8.23pm: "Where's Chris right now? What's he doing?" asks Giada, who sounds like they'd make a good private investigator. We don't actually know the answer. Sorry Giada. But we will try to find out.

8.21pm: "Will the blog stay up on the site after the show?" asks Susan in the USA, who's off to bake a cake because it's her son's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSAN'S SON! And, yes, it will.

8.19pm: Will's chilling outside the dressing rooms too now...

8.10pm: "What time does the band go on?" asks Brooke. 21.30 (ie in 80 mins). In fact, here are all of today's set times...

8.06pm: Quite a few of you asking what the capacity of today's festival is. We're told that it's 30,000.

8.02pm: So we managed to find Jonny, who's sitting outside the dressing room. Here he is, having a fascinating conversation with Coldplay's PA, Vicki.

7.57pm: Are the boys quite nervous ??? - Laurie

No, they actually seem really relaxed and happy. We're guessing there would've been a lot more nerves flying around before the German shows. But having got those under their belts (and having really enjoyed them), they seem to just be looking forward to playing again.

7.55pm: What kind of camera does Chris use? ~ Deshani :D

Well, he pinched ours for those shots of the band - which is a slightly battered Nikon D40.

7.46pm: We've just popped to the dressing room to try and get some pics of the band. But none of them are around. Think they might still be eating, or having a bit of a wander. But we did get a few pics while we were there...

7.32pm: Right, so dinner was a very delicious pasta with meat balls, accompanied by a rather lovely rocket salad with parmesan and pine nuts. Very Italian and very nice. Phil and Guy both had that too. All agreed it was excellent.

We're also quite impressed with the long, thin soft drinks cans (same amount, just a bit more elegant).

7.27pm: Oh, forgot to post this from our wander. Suits you sir.

7.09pm: "What do the guys eat while in Italy? Something local or what?" asks Valentina. That is a very good question. We're off to catering to find out (and grab a quick something to eat). Back shortly...

7.01pm: "Are you going to have a ride on a gondola?" asks Raphaele. That's looking unlikely. We were hoping that's how they'd take us from the airport to the festival, but sadly not.

7.00pm: "What's the weather like there?" ask lots of you, to anchorman@coldplay.com. Well, it's very warm, but it's also quite grey and gloomy. There is talk of thunderstorms. Which could make it an interesting evening...

6.02pm: "Because it's an organised event do the boys still get their own dressing room?" asks Chris in Bristol. Absolutely. Each band at a festival gets their own little room. But we are quite tickled by the thought of Beady Eye, We Are Scientists, Echo & The Bunnymen and Coldplay etc all crammed into one portakabin. Now *that* would be worth blogging about.

6.00pm: When we all arrived at the festival a few minutes ago, Mr Christopher Martin pinched our camera off a table and took a picture of all of the other members of Coldplay (and one of us, which was nice.) We'll run the band photos one at time, in case we run out of things to take photos of later. Let's begin with Chris's shot of Phil Harvey, Coldplay's fifth member.

5.58pm: "Where were those new promo photos shot?" asks Christina F. The answer is Greenwich in London. Not exactly sure where. (Greenwich is where time was, sort of, invented.)

5.57pm: "Is it usually quiet on the flight, or does everyone talk and stuff? What music do you listen to on the plane?" asks Emily. Well, it was pretty quiet today. Most people were either reading the newspaper, listening to music or playing games on their phones (Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit seemed to be popular)
