Second World War theme for 'Miracles' music video

The official Unbroken montage for Coldplay's new song, Miracles has landed and it continues the World War theme, as originally shown in the remembrance montage for with All Your Friends. This time, the focus moves from WWI to WWII, as the clip features footage from the upcoming film, Unbroken, released in theaters on Christmas Day.

Miracles out now as it proves to be a huge hit with Coldplay fans!

What's that Chris? 10's all-round?! The Unbroken film soundtrack, containing Coldplay's new song, Miracles is now available to download worldwide for the first time and has proven to be a huge hit among Coldplay fans so far! The film including the band's new track, debuts in cinemas from Christmas Day and features Miracles during the ending credits.When asking what you thought of Miracles, over half of you gave the song perfect 10's on Coldplaying.com, while it was rated the perfect 10/10 by 40% of Coldplaying.com/forum users , the 9's and 8's also make up the majority of the vote. The popularity of the new Coldplay song is similar to Atlas, from the Hunger Games : Catching Fire soundtrack, over a year ago, with 46% on the forums giving out perfect votes to date.

I absolutely love Miracles. My thoughts:1. Jonny makes this song with that one riff after the first chorus and then his solo with Chris's ooh's. It's kind of reminiscent of the ooh + guitar solo combination in Paradise. The actual guitar line reminds me of the end of Ladder to the Sun's ending climax.2. The way the bass comes in at the beginning kind of reminds me of the chorus of Sleeping Sun. Just a random thought. Why are people saying this is one of Guy's better basslines? I'm not hearing a lot of musical complexity. It is a nice low bass sound with a nice rhythm, but it's NOTHING like....say Magic, ETIAW, Major Minus, Paradise, X&Y, GPASUYF, Everything's Not Lost...just to name a few excellent Guy lines. *I will concede that it took me a few listens to realize how interesting the bassline in True Love is. 3. The chord progression in the chorus is pretty cool. I also feel like Coldplay hasn't done the I-IV-I thing much in the past so it's really refreshing and feel-goody in a way that not many of their other songs has. This is a song that makes me happy. 3b. The way the beat drops before the very end gets me every time. I can feel my stomach drop with how well timed it is. I think they really learned some tricks from Avicii with ASFOS (which has good builds too).4. WILL CHAMPION. The beat in the first half is good and kind of GS-reminiscent...but the end is absolutely great. Reminds me of the end of ETIAW a lot...4-on-the-floor and so driving. His backing vocals are AMAZING. It's like UATW and Ink met and had a Will Champion lovechild....

5. I'm a little skeptical about the instrumentation. I tend to like Coldplay songs that are more clearly 4-instruments, as in Atlas (which I somewhat like better as a song that really showcases Chris's piano, Will's drums, Jonny's BOTH atmospheric and solo-ing guitar, Guy's cool basslines)...whereas this has a very present piano-acoustic guitar thing. Which makes me wonder what it'd be like live. I hope Jonny switches between guitar and piano quickly like The Edge does in the song New Year's Day.

You can download Miracles by clicking on the Twitter link below, from Coldplay's Anchorman. Miracles is set to debut in at least the top 40 in the UK charts, on Christmas release week. It faces stiff competition all round from the likes of the XFactor winner, Ben Haenow and Mark Ronson. Judging by it's climb on the charts, a top 30 position is most likely, with a top 20 placing a possibility. If Coldplay's new song recieves substantial airplay, it could rise even further into the New Year, as sales generally dwindle but are beneficial to artists/bands with large fanbases such as our own, Coldplay!Here's a good site I use for tracking iTunes charts, from the UK or across the world, hope you find it useful for keeping track of Miracles' progress.

Miracles Live - Chris performs at LA promotional for 'Unbroken'

Chris Martin attended the Los Angeles promotional party on Sunday morning, for the new film, Unbroken, which features Coldplay's new song, Miracles during the end of film credits (available to download now!).

The frontman of Coldplay appeared on stage, to introduce Miracles in front of the celebrity gathering of acquaintances and the film stars of Angelina Jolie's directed film. Chris' great sense of humour was very much intact as he brought an array of jokes, including :

I left a tip jar at the front and about $5 is average, per song, so that would be great, so we can work on the next Unbroken...

He then joked about Miracles featuring at the end of the film, when everyone is leaving the theatre.

New Coldplay Song, Miracles unveiled - Listen now!

The wait is over, Miracles has hit the airwaves! The band's anticipated new song, which features on the soundtrack for upcoming Angelina Jolie directed film, Unbroken could give us a clue of what's to come for their next album, A Head Full Of Dreams. The "uplifting" direction of LP7, according to Chris Martin is very much visible on Miracles, as the lyrics "Now I'm floating so high" portray.

Simonce, on the forums thought "It seems halfway between Ink and Yellow", while coldplaykb was expecting something slower and added "It's very uplifting. Well done Coldplay". Miracles is receiving the best first reaction to a song in recent memory, with 1,422 Youtube thumbs up (at the time of typing this) and only 8 thumbs down on the Youtube channel, usually a good barometer of united positivity or split opinions.

OH MY GOD. The whole track is DIVINE...that rhythmic clapping (is it clapping...have only listened once so need to double check) at the beginning is so beautiful.

It's so PURE...the whole song and Chris' voice sounds like an Angel...that melody...I am so in love with this song...so very in love...

Coldplay Oracle - Sky Movies clip does not feature Coldplay!

There has been a twist in the Miracles saga as the Coldplay Oracle confirms the Sky Movies advert, which has gone viral does not include the upcoming Coldplay song and it's not even the band's work!

The Sky Movies advert has been shared all over the forums and on fan pages across Facebook and Twitter since the start of November. There was a large degree of skepticism over the authenticity of Coldplay's involvement with Sky Movies promo. Chris Martin's 'oooo's within the background track and the Christmas nature of the mystery song, coupled with the Christmas week release date raised huge curiosity but it wasn't until a well known media expert on Twitter 'confirmed' it was Coldplay's Miracles that the video started to go viral and in recent days, has been reported on by many major news sites including NME. The 'confirmation' from the media expert has been proved to be inaccurate and we are still waiting for the first audio clip of Coldplay's new song, due to be released on December 12th as part of the Unbroken film soundtrack.

Here are the facts we know about Miracles so far :

- Miracles is the final song on the Unbroken soundtrack. You can view the full soundtrack listing here (Thanks CP-EST)

- Miracles features on the credits of the inspired war story, Unbroken. Read the original Coldplaying article here

- Miracles has a track length of 3 minutes and 56 seconds (the same as Atlas!)

- Miracles is not an upbeat track (as mentioned by The Oracle too)

- The Unbroken soundtrack, along with Miracles is due for release on 12th December and it's expected to be available everywhere on Christmas music release week, from the 15th December.

- The new Coldplay track has been heard by spectators who were present at the film premiere very recently. One person just tweeted, "There's a Coldplay song at the end. It's called "Miracles" and it's pretty good! Chris Martin, Oscar nominee?" (thanks gai).

Coldplay are also listed as composers for an upcoming movie, to be released in December 2015, called Mission: S.O.P. (via IMDb)

Miracles To Be Released by December 15th!

Coldplay's new track, Miracles will be released just before Christmas, as part of the official soundtrack of the upcoming World War Two inspired film, Unbroken which is directed by Angelina Jolie and starring Jack O'Connell and Garrett Hedlund in leading roles.The information on the new Coldplay song was revealed on Monday evening as what was originally thought to be the title, Miracle was announced to be Miracles on the Coldplay Twitter page the next day.

Unbroken Facts & Atlas Poll!

The film on all our lips right now is Unbroken, mainly in anticipation of Miracles and if we cast our minds back to the release of Atlas on the Hungers Games : Catching Fire soundtrack over a year ago, we were in the same situation and eagerly waiting the first listen of the band's new tune. For our latest poll, we would like you to look back at last year and we want to know : Did The Hunger Games film take your interest? Or were you persuaded to watch the film upon the release of Atlas? Maybe you were a massive fan of The Hunger Games already or a stern critic of the Sci-fi Adventure film?[socialpoll id=2229447]Unbroken, being primarily a war drama, is a different film altogether but Coldplay's involvement could inspire many potential fans of the film! Release date

For our latest news update on Coldplay's new song, you will be able to download Miracles on the actual soundtrack of Unbroken, set to be released on December 15th by Parlophone records and in the US on December 16th through Atlantic records (thanks gai). Coldplay's last non album track, Wish I Was Here which was a collaboration with Cat Power, had been available to purchase before the soundtrack was released so we may hear Coldplay's 'beautiful' new track before then!

A 'Miracle' This Christmas? New Coldplay Song In Oscar Race!

It's been revealed that Coldplay are set to enter the race for the Best Original Song of the 2014 Oscars. The British band, who's track, Atlas missed out on last year's Oscar nominations for their Hunger Games : Catching Fire Soundtrack contribution (although it was nominated for the Golden Globe), will soon showcase their brand new song, Miracles, just in time for the Christmas release of the new film directed by Angelina Jolie, Unbroken.

The other Best Original Song nomination hopefuls vying to be included on the list (released at the start of December) for this year also include, Gregg Alexander (of New Radicals'), Patti Smith and John Legend. Hitfix.com expands on Coldplay's inclusion in stating :

"Miracles," I'm told, begins over "Unbroken's" post-narrative epilogue (images of the real Louis Zamperini, etc.) and continues into the credits.

This means Coldplay's role within the film will be limited to the credits, like Atlas but hopefully with another cracker of a tune and a potential Oscar nomination in the mix. Whether it will be as big as Atlas was for the Coldplay community or a lower key release such as Wish I Was Here is yet to be seen but with Miracles by Coldplay as one of the front runners already within a contest which included U2, Pharrell Williams and Karen O last year, something tells me we could hear something special indeed!
