If any of you recognize that headline title, I want to personally congratulate you on what you've created.

I go to school at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, and I work for the school newspaper called The Avion. Every April Fools, we produce a "mock" satirical version of the paper called the Avioff where the writers could essentially do whatever they want.

I was digging through the archives and found this gem from the 2005 Avioff. Now, there's no way to know who wrote this (we would use fake names) so it's anyone's guess and considering I started college in 2014, whoever did this is long gone. So for now, let's marvel at the time and effort this person took to create this wonderful work of art.

  2. I don't know, I like the song a lot. It's not "poppy" but more Ballard driven which is what I think a lot of us were looking forward to with A Head Full of Dreams. It's kind of like a cross between a Rush of Blood to the Head and Ghost Stories, though this comparison might not be entirely true.

Whatever you classify this song as, I like it and I want more of it.

  3. As I mentioned in another post, Chris uses a custom sound pack for VST. Someone on the forum, who actually bought the same piano Chris uses, found some of the sounds Chris used and made a video showcasing it.

The organ sound from Fix You is from a keyboard Gwyneth Paltrow's dad gave to Chris just before he died.

  4. Damn, 240p....

@ 4:07, you can see the end of Jonny's guitar which has 4 pegs suggesting its a bass that Jonny is playing. Also the same conclusion one of the comments came to on Youtube. Which is funny, because I don't recall another instance where he plays bass. It looks very similar to the red 'UFO' bass Guy used in MX era.

Looking at another video of the same night, Guy appears to be playing a non-bass, 4 stringed guitar of some sort.

Nice eye, I think it is Guy's Bass. Considering the song was pretty easy, I think it wasn't a problem for Jonny to play bass.

  5. Chris uses some custom VSTs on his Yamaha GT20 that's looped through a MIDI board. There was a thread in the Instrument Section, (I've been looking for it for the past 10 minutes and can't find it even though I saw it yesterday,) and someone found a 3rd party VST pack that had a similar sound pack to what Chris uses.

  6. Something that I noticed with sheet music publishers is that you get a 50/50 chance of getting a really good and proper transcription; Hal Leonard and Musicnotes.com are notorious for this. However, HL does publish "Band Books" (I forgot what they're really called) that actually have very accurate transcriptions for all the instruments in a particular song. They usually sell the books as a collection of songs from a certain artist, and I've only so far came across the Band Book for the Beatles. I doubt they'll do this for Coldplay, and it's really a shame since theses books are damn accurate. Musicnotes.com has some very good piano music if you can find a "piano solo" transcription for your song. Again, they only have a handful of Coldplay songs.

  7. As requested by Aviv201498, here are some rough piano chords for Gone But Not F Cotton.

The song is very interesting because it's kinda like Coldplay took a bunch of their songs and threw it into a blender because this song really borrows a lot; You have bits of In My Place, Green Eyes, and even Prospekt's March.

Gone But Not F Cotton is in the key of A and usually just switches around from Amaj to Dmaj so the chords, with the variations I'm about to list, are open to interpretation. I just hope there's gonna be some sheet music for this song since it's a really nice song. Plus you can swap out Freane with "Friend" and make the song a bit more personal and sing it to people but I digress.

If anyone wants to make changes or suggest corrections post them below.
