Legendary Session Singer Could Feature On 'A Head Full Of Dreams'

Source - Ultimateclassicrock.com (Thanks Jc90 for the forum post)

Legendary session singer, Merry Clayton could play a part in Coldplay's upcoming album, 'A Head Full Of Dreams'. Merry is famous for those backing vocals in The Rolling Stones classic,

    .

Unfortunately, Merry Clayton was involved in a severe Los Angeles car accident last year and had to have both legs amputated. Things took a turn for the better though, when she was asked to use her incredible voice by Coldplay "in the summer of 2015" for new album, 'A Head Full Of Dreams'. The spirit of Merry is evident when she quoted, “Doctor, I may not now have all my body parts…..BUT I STILL HAVE THIS VOICE!” and such an attitude, along with Coldplay's involvement with 'Why Not People?' has seemingly inspired Coldplay to sign her up for their seventh record.

Chris Martin repeated his desire to collaborate with multiple artists, during a 2014 interview and subsequently recorded with Rihanna, who could return to a Coldplay song once more. There is no confirmation as to whether the studio efforts of Merry Clayton or Rihanna will make it onto 'AHFOD'. As we know, songs could be discarded or used for other purposes, such as 'Atlas', which was penned for inclusion in 'Ghost Stories' but ended up being on

    . Stay tuned.
