Oxfam Presents: Stand As One - Live at Glastonbury 2016

This morning we woke up to some exciting news - Oxfam announced that Coldplay will be donating an exclusive live recording from their performance at Glastonbury to a live Glastonbury album, Oxfam Presents: Stand As One - Live at Glastonbury 2016.

Coldplay will make history this month by headlining the main stage at Glastonbury - the largest festival in the world - for the fourth time in a row. Alongside other artists including Muse and Foals, they’ll be contributing a song recorded during their performance at the festival to Oxfam’s album- the first live Glastonbury album of its kind - to stand as one with people forced to flee conflict, disaster and poverty.

The album is part of Oxfam’s Stand As One campaign to put pressure on world leaders to welcome more refugees, to prevent families from being separated and to keep people fleeing their homes safe from harm. The album is dedicated to the memory of Jo Cox, MP, a former Oxfam activist, who campaigned tirelessly for refugees. To get yours hands on the album go to oxfam.org.uk/stand. All Parlophone's profits from the album will go to Oxfam’s Refugee Crisis Appeal, providing life-saving essentials like food, water and sanitation.

    Coldplay said

“Right now there are more refugees in the world than at any other time in recent history. They could be us and we could be them. The good news is: we can all help.”

Sigur Rós, The Last Shadow Puppets, Chvrches, Wolf Alice, Laura Mvula,   Jamie Lawson, John Grant, Jack Garratt, Two Door Cinema Club, The 1975, Editors, Years & Years and Fatboy Slim are also confirmed for the album, with more expected to join.

You can stand alongside your favourite artists too by signing our petition and pre-ordering the album.

If you’ve been at a Coldplay gig on the A Head Full Of Dreams tour so far you’ll have spotted Oxfam volunteers talking to fans about the campaign and asking them to sign the petition to Stand As One; if you haven’t signed it yet, you can show your support by signing it here.

We’re taking the global petition to New York in September where the first ever UN Refugees and Migrants Summit will take place and where US President Barack Obama will call on all world leaders to make pledges and commitments to address the crisis.
