Once upon a time, Jonny Buckland and Oasis star, Noel Gallagher
During an interview with John Kennedy (who has a long history with the band) on Radio X, formerly XFM, Coldplay's frontman revealed Noel's involvement with 'Up&Up' and that he asked the Q Award winner "to do a solo like Jonny", while asking "Jonny to do a solo like Noel". Chris Martin was very pleased with the result and named 'Up&Up' as one of the "favorite songs they've ever done".
If that wasn't enough, Chris also confirmed the inclusion of Beyonce, Merry Clayton and his two children, on the mentioned track!
Radio X Interview Summary
Here's everything else we've dissected from tonight's interview:
The voice effect on 'Adventure Of A Lifetime' is Chris' vocals chopped up by Norwegian producers, Stargate.
Chris had drawn inspiration for 'AHFOD' from the book, 'Half The Sky', which talked about Women and their changing place in the world, in addition to being woken up into life and how joyful it could be.
It was fun for the band not to tour last time and instead take their momentum back into the studio. Now, every band member is looking forward to touring.
Coldplay still follow the commandments Brian Eno set for them. The genius producer also sings in a portion of the album.
