Wednesday night I dutifully tuned in to (most of) the Grammy Awards in my yearly attempt to understand that crazy music the kids are dancing to these days. Well, I don't think I'm going to run out and buy How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb (I'd rather not know how to do that, actually...) However, I have come up with an excellent idea for future Grammy broadcasts... more on that later. First, a few observations:
I think I like Madonna's Farrah Fawcett hairdo and Jane Fonda Workout-ish wardrobe she's got going right now. But please, lose that computer animated backup band (The Monkeez, or Gorillaz, or whatever... yucky.)
Stevie Wonder -- give up on the "I'm blind" jokes... not funny, not cute, not cool. And here's a tip: don't ask the audience to sing along with you when it's a song nobody knows the lyrics to.
Hey, Coldplay -- that was a great song... about 25 years ago, and it was called "Computer Love" by Kraftwerk. This is the much-hyped Coldplay? Really...? yikes...
