New Zealand Preview: Coldplay fans flock to Auckland

kiwi.jpgColdplay fans are expected to flock to Auckland's Vector Arena on Wednesday night for the first of two concerts by the Grammy award-winning band.

Coldplay are in New Zealand as part of their Viva la Vida world tour in support of their new album of the same name. Its first two singles, Violet Hill and Viva la Vida were both in the top three of New Zealand's airplay chart. The first time Coldplay was in New Zealand was at the Big Day Out in 2001. In 2006 thousands of Kiwi fans lobbied a national music station to get New Zealand included in the band's last world tour but the country missed out.

Discussion threads for the New Zealand shows are here (18th) and here (19th). If you have only just heard, Dom Harvey of Auckland's The Edge FM will be interviewing Coldplay's Will & Guy in Auckland later - tweet him your questions on behalf of Coldplaying.com!
