Chris Martin should be a comedy star, according to Ash frontman Tim Wheeler. The Coldplay singer has been urged by 'Goldfinger' rockers Ash to widen his career and seek acting roles after impressing them with his appearance in their unreleased horror movie 'Slashed'.
Ash singer Tim Wheeler said: "He was the best thing in it. He's a really, really good actor. He could be really strong in comedy."
Ash's 2001 movie also starred Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl, 'Play' hitmaker Moby and actor James Nesbitt, with Chris appearing as Sherbert Bones, an FBI investigator hired to track down a supernatural serial killer alongside fellow agent Datsun Ford, played by his bandmate, guitarist Jonny Buckland.
The 2001 film also starred songwriter Moby, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Cold Feet actor James Nesbitt. Although the film has remained unreleased, Tim hasn't ruled out airing the movie in future. He added: "We're still talking about using that footage. A lot of people will want to see Chris Martin getting axed to death."
