'Bad Day' Beats Coldplay In Radio Hits Survey

The excitement about Powter in America comes on the heels of the 34-year-old's phenomenal year across the ocean, where he has already sold a total of one million albums. "Bad Day" beat out Coldplay, U2, and James Blunt to top an airplay survey of the biggest European radio hits of the year, which is based on the playlists of 100 radio stations across the continent. He also topped the individual airplay charts for the year in France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Australia, among others.

 

Powter's debut album, which the artist has described as "keyboard music on steroids," was produced by Mitchell Froom, who is known for his work with Suzanne Vega, Los Lobos, and Richard Thompson. American tour dates to support Daniel Powter are currently in the works.
