Band Aid 20 Takes Christmas No.1 Spot

bandaid20.jpgBand Aid 20's charity single Do They Know It's Christmas? has claimed Britain's Christmas number one slot after topping the UK singles chart for a third week.

The track - featuring stars including Chris Martin, Robbie Williams, Dido and Bono - has sold more than 600,000 copies in just three weeks - giving the charity single its THIRD Christmas no.1 in its history. The track was released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1984 original, which sold 3.5 million copies, while this year's version is expected to sell one million copies, which would raise almost $6 million (GBP3 million) for charity projects in Africa.
