x&y.jpgBecause sports and music are undoubtedly joined at the hip, here are my picks for the 48th annual Grammy Awards (the big categories anyway): Album of the Year -- How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, U2 (should also win best rock album, and there should be rioting if Coldplay's subpar (!) X&Y wins);

 

Record of the Year -- Gold Digger, Kaney West (takes some of the sting out of losing for Album of the Year despite a rock-solid sophomore effort); Song of the Year -- We Belong Together, Mariah Carey (the night's big winner);

 

Best New Artist -- John Legend (because The Killers were somehow not nominated, yet SugarLand was).
