It looks like the London Sun totally screwed up their facts when they published that their will be a Live Aid II next year. Yesterday, Bob Geldof said the story wasn't true and today, U2's Bono has also denied the article naming him one of the organizers.
Before a meeting in Dublin yesterday for the EU, Bono told reporters "At this point there are no plans for a Live Aid 2".
Coldplay were tipped to play if the plans went ahead. The Sun ran an article over the weekend stating both Geldof and Bono would be involved in a 20th Anniversary performance of Live Aid but Bono suggests it wouldn't go anywhere near solving the problems of Africa. "Right now we're after billions, not millions (needed). A Live Aid 2 would help, but it wouldn't fix the problem."
Geldof also denied the story in an official statement saying "I told the Sun this afternoon it was not true. This only serves to undermine the concerted efforts of those concerned with the tragedy of poverty in Africa."
The newspaper claimed Radiohead, Coldplay and Oasis would take part in the show but we now know that is not going to happen.
