José Mourinho [pictured] has given his backing to a comedy record that impersonates him, because part of the sales proceeds will go to Chelsea Football Club's official charity CLIC Sargent.
DJ Mario Rosenstock is famous in his native Ireland for mimicking leading football personalities, which he puts to music. Angel Records have decided to release one of these, ‘José & His Technicolor® Overcoat’, on February 20th. The song features Mario’s uncanny impression of Mourinho against the tune of ‘Any Dream Will Do’ from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical triumph ‘Joseph & His Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat’.
Mourinho has already invited Rosenstock to perform for the Chelsea players after hearing the record on the internet. "All the players and my staff heard the record at the training ground and it really made us laugh.” said Mourinho. “We liked it so much we flew Mario over to give us a special presentation of the song the night before a match. As some of the money from this record is going to Chelsea FC's official charity CLIC Sargent, we are happy to support it."
Mario has sold over 200,000 records during his career and was Ireland’s 2005 Christmas Number 1. The country’s biggest selling album artist of the last quarter, he outsold Eminem, Robbie Williams, Westlife, Coldplay and even James Blunt.
