Chris Martin Aims To Rock The Vote

Coldplay's Chris Martin and a number of other musicians are taking part in the 'Rock The Vote' campaign that aims to get people out and voting in the forthcoming general election.

Martin was reported as saying in today’s Sun: "I think that by voting you show you care. It’s when politicians don’t think we care that they start doing the craziest things."The American election last year saw numerous artists using their voices to encourage people to vote. Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, The Dixie Chicks, REM and James Taylor led the 'Vote For Change' tour that attempted to "derail the right-wing Republican agenda by defeating George W. Bush."

It seems that we could be looking at similar outpouring of political opinions on this side of the pond.

Beverley Knight told the Sun readers: "What ever you do get out and vote. You've got to do what’s right by exercising what people have fought for."
