It's almost 10 years since the release of Urban Hymns, The Verve's gargantuan, 7 million-selling masterpiece. It's an album whose key songs still attract superlatives. Introducing Richard Ashcroft onstage at Live 8 in July 2005, Coldplay's Chris Martin desribed Bittersweet Symphony as "probably the best song ever written."
