In between the hustle and bustle of the Crisis hidden gigs and all that goes with the rush for tickets and auction bids, we'd like to remind you that Coldplay have recently backed a campaign to get '2 Minutes Silence' to number one on the UK singles chart. The track, which has been released by the British Legion's Poppy Appeal, features nothing but silence.
It is accompanied by a video featuring the likes of Thom Yorke, The Saturdays, Mark Ronson and prime minister David Cameron. On Thursday, the Official Charts Company said the song was on course to chart inside the top-20 at the weekend. UPDATE: The Royal British Legion were a new entry at 20 with their completely silent track 2 Minute Silence!

The Royal British Legion's bid for the Remembrance Sunday No.1 slot is a poignant reminder of the two-minute silence first held on November 11, 1919, to mark the first anniversary of the end of the First World War, and traditionally observed every November 11 at 11am as well as on each Remembrance Sunday.
