Coldplay have announced five stadium shows in the UK for May/June 2012 - will a promise of more dates in North America and Europe to follow. They will play all the venues for the very first time - Coventry's Ricoh Arena (home of Coventry City FC), Stadium of Light (home to Sunderland AFC), Emirates Stadium in London (home to Arsenal FC) and Etihad Stadium (home to Manchester City FC). Sunderland AFC's chief executive Margaret Byrne has already put out a press release, saying: "To have established the Stadium of Light as one of the top music venues in the country in just three years is a fantastic achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication of our concerts team. To welcome a band of the profile of Coldplay, alongside our Red Hot Chili Peppers show, highlights how our reputation and ability to deliver is now widely recognised across the music industry."
