Coldplay Confirmed as Grammy Performers

grammy.jpgLil Wayne, Coldplay and the Jonas Brothers are confirmed to perform at the Feb. 8 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The three will join the previously announced Katy Perry.

Lil Wayne and Coldplay are competing for album of the year, and the Jonas Brothers are in the running for best new artist. Both Coldplay and Lil Wayne are part of this year's Grammy ad campaign, and it's the norm for all artists nominated for album of the year to perform on the live telecast. Others nominated for album of the year include Radiohead, Alison Krauss & Robert Plant and Ne-Yo, although none have yet been announced as performers.

It also shouldn't come as a surprise that Lil Wayne, Coldplay and the JoBros have signed on, as all three were on the award show circuit in 2008. Lil Wayne went so far as to appear at the Country Music Assn. Awards, where he waved a guitar onstage with Kid Rock, and Coldplay appeared at everything from the American Music Awards to the MTV Movie Awards. The JoBros also appeared at the AMAs, as well as the MTV Video Music Awards.

More on this exclusive news in the Grammy thread at the Coldplay forum here onwards [thanks mimixxx]
