    Coldplay confirmed to headline both Oxegen (Ireland) and Fuji Rock (Japan) festivals

    festival.jpgAs we have been anticipating since our reports over the last two weeks or so, Coldplay have now officially confirmed in the last 24 hours that they will be headlining both Ireland's Oxegen and Japan's Fuji rock festivals. Here are Anchorman's announcements:

     

    Oxegen: We have another festival show to tell you about - on Sunday July 10th, Coldplay will close the main stage at this year's Oxegen Festival.     Fuji Rock: We're pleased to confirm that Coldplay will be headlining this year's Fuji Rock festival at the Naeba Ski Resort in Japan on Friday 29th July.     This brings the total number of 2011 festivals that Coldplay will play thus far to FIFTEEN. The confirmed festivals are spread over three continents and fourteen countries (Germany, Italy, Netherlands, England, Sweden, Poland, Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, Ireland, Japan and Brazil!)

     

    Coldplay will be making their first ever appearance at the Oxegen festival, which takes place from July 8th to 10th in its usual environs of Punchestown Racecourse. Tickets go on sale at 8pm on Friday 8th March with weekend tickets costing between €199.50 for three days, no camping and €244.50 for four-day camping tickets and can be purchased through Ticketmaster. Day tickets are will also be available and cost €99.50.

    Coldplay will join Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters in headlining both the Oxegen and T In The Park festivals on the same weekend
