The guys have had a football squad together since pretty much the start of this tour. Today, they’re in the same city as us for the days off, and they have a match against a local side. I head down to the sports centre, which is pretty large, dome roffed affair, and arrive just as Tour Manager Franksy is whistling in the start of the first half.
Chris and Will are paying upfront, Jonny is in defence, whilst the team is rounded out by tour DJ Gree, accountant Yasmine, security guru Kelly, Dan Portainer personal trainer and limousine supreme Bob in goal.
The first half is challenging for the fellas, and things aren’t looking too good. The second half starts off much more promisingly, with the Champion - Martin one two yielding a few much needed equalizers. It’s a furious finish, but the guys just miss pulling it back, leaving the locals to celebrate a decisive win. Maybe there’ll be a re-match next time we’re in town...
