Coldplay have landed a clutch of nominations for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, which will take place at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on November 6th. Amongst the categories Coldplay have been named in are Best Live Act, where they will go head-to-head with rock heavyweights Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Best UK/Ireland Act, where they will face stiff competition from chart sensation Adele, who herself has been nominated for numerous EMAs this year. Meanwhile it was reported a couple of days ago that Coldplay have been nominated in two categories at this year's Q Awards in London. They're up for the Best Live Act and also the Best Act In The World Today. You can vote for this at awards.qthemusic.com now. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 24 October - which just happens to be the release date for the new album Mylo Xyloto...
Don't forget as well that today is the deadline for winning Live On Letterman tickets. This from the official site: Coldplay are performing for Live On Letterman at New York's Ed Sullivan Theater on Tuesday, 20 September. The show will be webcast live and/or on-demand across the world at 8pm ET / 5pm PT / 1am UK time at www.cbs.com/late_night/liveonletterman/.
