Coldplay no longer playing the Meadows Music Theater in Hartford...

meadowsmusictheater.jpg...but don't be alarmed! No, Coldplay have not cancelled another US show, the Meadows Music Center is no more. Instead, in a seven-year deal announced earlier this week, the Hartford amphitheater will now be known as the Comcast Theatre.

The venue, owned and operated by Live Nation, can hold up to 25,000 people for its summer concert series, which this year kicks off May 23 with a return visit from Coldplay. The amphitheater's design is unique in that it features a rolling door which can be closed during the winter months allowing year round performances. For many years it served as the venue for the 104 Fest, put on by now defunct rock station WMRQ. Major tours make frequent stops at the Meadows, including Ozzfest, Family Values Tour, Projekt Revolution, Mayhem festival, and other, one-off tours.

Given the new change of venue name, the Coldplay discussion thread and WikiColdplay pages have been amended accordingly.
