Coldplay still reigns on Canadian charts

vivalavida.jpgIt was high fives all around for Coldplay's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" on the Canadian album charts.

The Brit-rock quartet's fourth disc stayed at No. 1 for a fifth consecutive week, selling 15,000 copies, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. It has now racked up a grand total of 176,000 in sales since its release last month. Meanwhile In the US charts, Coldplay's new album slips from second to fourth with 90,000 sales. Nas' latest album tops this week's Billboard 200, dethroning Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III," according to Nielsen SoundScan on Wednesday.

If you haven't already seen it, Coldplay posted a brief audio clip of their concert at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 19th. Listen to the 'Viva La Vida' excerpt here [thanks mimixxx].

And if you're going to tonight's show at the United Center, Chicago, Jack FM 104.3 will be at the concert giving away free prizes. If you are lucky, they may even take your picture!
