Coldplay To Ditch Military Image In 2009 Due To Smell

chrismartin2008a.jpgColdplay frontman Chris Martin [pictured] has revealed that the group will unveil a new image in 2009 – because their current garb smells too much, reports Gigwise.

Coldplay's present pseudo-military look, inspired by the themes on their latest album 'Viva La Vida or Death and All Hist Friends', has drawn a mixed response from fans and critics. Many have questioned whether the group have worn the same outfits for their entire world tour. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Martin said: “The Pittsburgh Steelers wear the same outfit every week, and no one expects them to change. But wear the same outfit on both Leno and Letterman, and suddenly it's an issue."

Asked why the band planned to unveil a new image, Martin replied: "We're not sick of the theme - just the smell.”
