Coldplay to take a 'boredom break'

jonny2008a.jpgColdplay have decided to take a break because they fear people are getting bored of them. The group have postponed plans to begin work on the follow-up to 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends' to figure out which direction to take their music in next.

Guitarist Johnny Buckland revealed: 'We ended up doing much more touring than we originally planned so there's no time to do proper justice to a new project. And anyway people may need a bit of a break from us. We're taking a little break and let's see where we get after that. We've got a lot of ideas but we want to find a new way to go and that may take some time.'

Johnny also spoke out about the military-style uniforms the group have donned to promote the album and accompanying tour, and claims the band - singer Chris Martin, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion - hand-stitched each one.

He added to Time Out Dubai magazine: 'Guy came up with the direction. Then we all got together in our studio to work on the outfits. We had someone who helped us make the jackets and trousers. We made them ourselves. We really wanted this whole album to be homemade again, we wanted to take it back and have it all come from us.'
