Coldplay 'Viva La Vida' Album Sales Rise Despite Brits Defeat

vivalavida.jpgDespite not winning any of the four awards they were nominated for, Coldplay have seen sales for Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends rise by 26% in the United Kingdom.

Mid-week sales figures have shown a sharp increase in album sales for acts who performed or won awards at this years’ Brit Awards. Coldplay performed the single Viva La Vida early on in the show. Their latest album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends topped the global sales chart last year with 6.6 million copies.

Sales for Duffy’s album ‘Rockferry’ are up by 66.3% and the record looks set to move up the album chart from 19 into the Top 5. Duffy was Queen of the Brits taking home three of the four awards she was nominated for. The Ting Tings’ ‘We Started Nothing’ is up by 58% and sales for Kings Of Leon’s ‘Only By The Night’ have risen by 47.4%.
