echoawards.jpgColdplay won the Gruppe International Rock/Pop at the 18th Echo Awards that took place on February 21st, 2009 in Berlin, Germany.

 

The Echo Awards music prize given away by the Deutsche Phono Akademie (German Phono Academy) has advanced to the world third biggest music prizes just after the Grammys and the Brits. Coldplay were nominated as 'Best International Group/Collaboraation' alongside OneRepublic, Maroon 5, Pussycat Dolls and Yael Naim & David Donatien and came out winnter of this important award. Coldplay were not present to accept this award and the awarding of this category itself wasn't aired live on television.
